Subject: Turek: To start or not to start vs. ANA

In my H2H Yahoo League, I will win 2 of the 5 goalie categories no matter what after tomorrow (Wins and Losses) because my opponent won't be starting any more goalies tomorrow.

Here are the stats:
He's beating me in Saves by 18, and I'm beating him in SV% by 0.006, BUT neither of us has a shutout yet.

So, the big question is: Will Turek make 19 saves tomorrow, and keep his SV% above .910?

Well all know Turek's been sucking lately, so I need opinions..

Even if he sucks, odds are he will make at least 19 saves to win you saves with a shot at percentage and a shutout. He could totally blow up and cost you 3 categories, but probably an equal chance that he could get a shutout and get you the sweep.

Right now, you're winning 3 categories (W, L, SV%) if you don't start Turek. As Filthy Rich pointed out, odds are, Turek will get 19 saves, so even if his SV% drops, you'll still win 3 categories (W, L, SV).

In other words, it's pretty much a win-win situation for you to start him. You have very little chance of losing any more than you already have by starting Turek (he would have to have less than 19 Saves and a bad SV% tonight), so start him and take the chance to get the SO and the possibility of also winning both SV and SV%.

Its also against Anaheim, and while any team can do well on any given night, more often then not they struggle to score. I'd play him too.

...or Mclennan can start.

And with 11:50 to go, McLennan still only has 16 saves. I guess it wasn't as "in the bank" as expected. :)

Well, I guess McLennan solves everything..
