Subject: Week 13 trades

Only players I really must let go are Savard, Jokinen, and Kovalchuk. I swear if Vokoun, Sullivan, and Zidlicky didn't do something today they would have all gotten the axe. Even though they have one hell of a schedule.

You're going to let Savard and Kovalchuk go BEFORE they play PIT twice? :0

I don't forsee too many moves, but then again i blew through 6 last week:

Sullivan > Gagne
(1/8)
Hossa > Ovechkin

Sully has some weaker opponents but I like Gagne.
Hossa > Ovechkin - schedule thing.

No my whole reason to get Kovalchuk was because I saw those two PITT games.

What are the chances that Gonchar gets 10 more buys in the next little while to pull out of gravity? I may need to deal a D-man to scrape some funds together for an Auld upgrade to Turco.

C. Superfreak, Philly.com reports today that the coach is breaking up Gagne and Forsberg and having Forsberg skate with Kapanen and Carter tonight against the rangers. Opponents have held Foppa and Gagne in check recently, and the coach wants to mix it up. Food for thought for you.

Thanks for the heads up walk.

I was using info from Flyers info to plan my trade.

Looks like I'll have to do some more research before making a decision.
I'm liking the schedule, lots of options with my trade surplus.

No prob, CSF. The break-up of those lines might be a boon for Gagne, ya never know. He'll surely be there with Forsberg on the PP, too, (seems obvious), and half the freakin' goals in this game this season seem to be off of the PP, so I dunno if this line-change thing is such a big factor.

Between the Ottowa injuries and the previous Gagne/Forsberg injuries, I have learned to check OttawaSun.com and Philly.com regularly.

Tuques, I looked at Nash specifically to trade into after Atlantas 2 pittsburgh's games and then I looked at Washingtons schedule.
I decided my hossa > ovechkin move based on Ovechkins health and performance and there's not much of a game advantage between the two. Nash get's 1 extra game although Washingtons sked has a 1 in 5. Nothing's ever written in stone, and it's still 3 days away.
I still have Nash on my radar and I'll be paying close attention to his next 2 games.
I have plenty of trades and i'm probably going to get a little more aggressive in the next few weeks.
RV is still a factor for me so i'd like to gain RV and still accumulate some points. I'm still stuck with a low end goalie and a low end dman. RV gains would certainly help. I desparately need to upgrade one of them before the break.

Where do some of you get your info

The Flyers have shuffled their lines for this evening's game against the Rangers.
Jeff Carter will line up with Peter Forsberg and Simon Gagne, Mike Knuble will play alongside Sami Kapanen and Michal Handzus and Mike Richards is now centering Donald Brashear and Branko Radivojevic. Philly's fourth unit will feature R.J. Umberger, Brian Savage and Ben Eager. Considering Flyer coach Ken Hitchcock changes his lines as often as his socks, we wouldn't make any major fantasy lineup modifications as a result of this re-alignment. Jan. 5 - 7:55 am et

My plan all along was to go Jokinen to Spezza. Now with Spezza still hurting I kinnda want to go to Demitra. But Demitra lost around 80k yesterday for no apparent reason. Wouldn't want to buy into a price loser.

Demitra has a game today and saw losses due to the little gap in LA's sched; I get you would not lose $ (at least no more than $30k) if you moved into Demitra. Thornton is another option.

Hamhuis to Lidstrom

Will move Hossa and Kovalchuk after the Pittsburg games. Maybe Lehtinen/Ovechkin/Nash.....

Harsh.

Ideally, I don't want to sell Sully. But, I'm going to have to here. I hope it doesn't hurt me too badly. I really don't want to sacrifice anyone else right now. I don't feel TOO badly about selling him, although he does have some easy opponents, because I did get him early when he was red hot.

Sully > Gagne
Spezza > Thornton

Doing my usual stay away from Detroit (foward) strategy.

Are we certain Gagne is over the flu at this point? Sullivan has such a good schedule I just can't bring myself to selling him. My plan all along was to get Gagne from Kovalchuk after the 2 PITT games. Then with that extra cash I could turn Savard or Jokinen into Forsberg. Of course my plan also included getting Spezza at that point. So I just don't know.

I missed the good opportunities to convert Tanguay into Kovalchuk/Hossa, Ovechkin, and Jagr due to not paying attention during the holidays and due to being late for afternoon game roster freezes, but somehow got lucky with Tanguay scoring 3G and 3A in 3 games. Now he's got Colombus and St Louis coming up, and I've got a trade in hand, and I'm doing all right, due to sheer incompetence.

Funny how sometimes you can do everything right... and lose out (you pick up guys who get injured right away, or immediately go into slumps or whatever), and other times, you can f*** up and still do OK.

I envy anyone who's been able to make a decent amount of RV over the past week. Seems like everyone's got a bank of trades and are wasting no time in using them... It's as if anyone with an off-day, let alone 2 days off, is a risk to make the $ losers list.

The Modano/Morrow to Thorton/Cheechoo will be worth about 300 points on the night. Did it in one of my two non-ESDNHL teams, (Ice Tax).

Funny sometimes when you field multiple teams in TSN .... 1 or 2 will suck and the other will blow the doors off. Going into November this team was sitting around 2000th overall...tomorrow it should crack the top 50. My other two teams are in the 700-800th place overall.... and sinking.

Never has made any sense to me.

Yesterday moved Lethinen to Nash and it pays off already, 2 goals for Nash last night, with their schedule, I could see a nice replacement for the Atlanta wingers....

Heatly should be suspended for his next game he got a game misconduc in the last minute of the game this is an automatic 1 game suspension??

unbelievable. If the 1 game suspension is the case, then he's gone. But if I wanna use that same slot to get him back....the team that makes the most sense is Nashville...go figure, I traded Sully yesterday.

It's been tough trying to stay afloat in terms of RV the last week and a half unless you had a ton of trades. Probably the most disappointing guy has to be Demitra with big ownership at the time of a real mediocre sked and the appearance of a ton of C options at the same time. He has really taken some big hits.

Going good here though. 16 out of the last 17 days with positive or even WWR movement.

Refused to move McCabe so far, but the 1 in 6 (2 in 9) coming is a little too much to take. Gonchar seems to be a good option, albeit in gravity.

McCabe and Gonchar both have a 2 in 2 starting tonight (CAL-EDM vs ATLx2).

Would you pull the trigger early for Gonchar to catch those two ATL games?

Heatley > Gagne
Heatley > Nash
Heatley > Ovechkin

the team I went to Ovechkin on was a mistake... I meant to go Nash on that one too. Darn. :( I've been pretty sloppy over the past couple of weeks.

Still debating who to get from Savard (and Demitra if he's hurt on 2 teams)

Probably no one who plays today. Crosby, Forsberg, Thornton all possibilities.

Thornton is an intriguing one... his game on Tuesday is against Boston. I'm thinking he's going to be a force of nature in that game.

All sort of move today!!!

Demitra => Forsberg
Savard => Arnanson

Heatly => Ovechkin

I decided to hold McCabe cause I couldn't find any replacement and I'm sure I would have wanted him back anyway, so I'll take the hit and save the trade...

I have some concern about Hasek but with Spezza close to return and a nice sched comming up, match with 2 bad games from Emry, with no B2B he should start them all and he needs to step up for Alfredsson...

I might move Arnanson to Spezza depending a return and the performance of the firts one...

Yeah, he's been on my rosters since he came back from injury, and obviously I'm disappointed. I could use that $ elsewhere...right now, I can see moving him to Federov, who is hot and who has a 6 in 9 starting tomorrow, but the other side of me says that Forsberg could explose any day with a mega streak. Probably should move; the pattern of low scoring has been established - at least with Philly on the road.

Its just frustrating to have a 10 million parking space while managers who can't afford him are moving up. I'm tempted to move out of him for his 2 in 6 and then back into him. I can gain an extre 2 games out of federov.
Therefore:
Forsberg -> Feberov(13th)->Forsberg(19th)
crosby -> gomez on 17th.

Right, Gomez presents an attractive option at center as well. NJD playing better, clearly having a nice spurt with the Elias return, and the line of Elias, Gomez, and Gionta is really playing strong. I watched some of the NJD-Philly game the other night, and that "EGG" line was fast, skilled and creating many scoring opp's.
