Living in Toronto the media has been all over every single Leafs player being traded, so I figured lets start a game similar to other sports.
Heres how it will work you get ten picks and you must rank them #1-#10 (#1 being your most likely to be traded, and #10 being your 10th most likely to be traded). If your #1 pick gets traded you get 10 points, if your #2 pick gets traded you get 9 points etc.
You will also get 2 bonus points for picking whether Peter Forsberg will signs with a team before the deadline.
1. Olli Jokinen 2. Marian Hossa 3. Patrick Marleau 4. Mats Sundin 5. Ruslan Salei 6. Dan Boyle 7. Dwayne Roloson 8. Marik Malek 9. Brad Richards 10.Brian Campbell
Bonus: Foppa will not sign with a team before the deadline. |

Toral just brought up when entries are due by.
There is no official time they must be in by, right now almost all rumours are just rumours that a player could be traded, as long as you post players that have not offically been mentioned in a specific pending trade is fine.
IE if TSN reports that Sundin is going to Anaheim for player X, and Edmontons draft pick, and the deal is all but finalized, Sundin and player X would ofically be off the list. I'm pretty upto date with all the rumours, but people like Toral who are "competitive" in this free game may try and abuse the rules :)
Bottom line its just a fun game, and feel free to submit a list whenever you want, but the later you wait the more you risk a certain player being traded and not being able to use him anymore.

"The latest rumor is Chris Kelly or Antoinne Vermet along with Christoph Schubert and Nick Foligno to Atlanta for Marian Hossa and Kari Lehtonen. Martin Lapointe to Ottawa is already confirmed, but they are also in talks with Chicago and/or Washington to get a goaltender."

I think its a good deal for Pittsburgh. They gave up Esposito, Christensen, and Armstrong, and a conditional first round pick. So, none of their top prospects like Goligoski, Letang, or Staal, AND they kept him away from Ottawa, Montreal, and Boston, all East teams who were rumoured to have a good shot at getting him.

Man, I'm pissed I forgot to play! I just flat out forgot, oh well.
I really like the deal. I would've been happy with a 2nd tier guy (Ruutu), but it was obvious that Sid needed a winger.
Lots of people are saying that it was a steep price, I'm not so sure it is. The Pens landed a top winger without giving up an untouchable (Staal, Letang, Whitney, and Goligoski). I would've even been alright with giving up a Staal, but it became clear they weren't going to do that.
I was half-watching the TSN feed, and I can't remember who said it....but one of the panelists started ripping the deal and compared this deal with what went on in Tampa Bay. Big 3, cup, tear the team down. I think that's totally uncalled for. Who knows what's going to happen with all of these pieces and who gets signed and who goes, but those comments really pissed me off.
I picked up Center Ice a few weeks ago, finally, and I'm pretty happy with the lower tiered forwards on the Pens from now. They've had to raid Wilkes-Barre with all of the injuries, and they're holding their own.
