I now have an ibook so I can webcam and such better with my kids and my son has been singing their praises so long, I dedided to give one a try. I can copy a team from the tsn site, but then all the assimilate buttons and the team name go away and it's useless. Is that just becuase I have this ibook and there will be nothing I can do about it, or is there something I need to change in some settings to make it work? I have not tried to directly load in the team manually. I'll check that out. I just wondered if there are other MAC users out there who have similar issues. Also, the game viewer program that I love so much will not run on this, is that another compatibility problem? Thanks. BTW, Bibby sucks on a MAC and a PC. |

I have no idea - and no ability to test anything out on a Mac.

What browser are you using? It might work OK on an alternate browser.

It's whatever the Apple browser is, Safari I think it's called. I'll try downloading Mozilla and run it from there. I know nothing about Mac's, so it's a learning experience. Pretty easy computer to learn though.

I'm using a Mac with Safari and the assimilator seems to work just fine.
One thing to watch out for is that the TSN site does not work well with Safari. When I use Safari while trying to manage any of my three teams, the site always jumps to the first team on the list. For example, if I try to see team three, it usually sends me to team one's page. If I try to sell someone on team two, when I hit the sell button it tries to sell the player off of team 1. Weird, but the problem is solved by simply using Netscape.

I have an IBook, but I don't use the Assimilator. I do find, however, that for some sites (including the TSN site) Camino is a better browser for the Mac, Camino is made by Mozilla especially for OS X. Unfortunately, since the computer world is set up to work primarily for Windows, some pages don't work as well in certain Mac browsers. But, through testing I use Safari for some and Camino for others.
Here's the link for Camino.

Thanks, Dunk. I Downloaded Camino and it works great now. My kids have Macs, so I decided to try an ibook to facilitate the webcam and also to try something new. So far I'm impressed. Always fun to have a new toy.

While you're on a roll, Dunk, have you been able to run RSF's game viewer on your ibook. I downloaded it and tried running it with Safari and Camino, and it says there is no default application specified.

Unfortunately, I seriously doubt that it will work on the Mac since its based off of Microsoft's MSHTA.EXE.
There is always the old version online at http://rsf.hopto.org.

Thanks VP. I'm going to go through the code and see if I can't update the web stuff some time this week, time permitting.
