I was unaware that Mike D won the first 3 seasons, but of course I continually stink this league up for whatever reason, so I never pay attention to the very top.

Anyone know who the last 4 holders of the TMC Belt? (Trades Made Championship)

If I have to miss, I always feel that if i get my top couple guys I want to build around - I'm all good there and I can fill out the rest later.

Just make sure you move Bibby way down. I'd hate for anyone here to get stuck with him in the first few rounds.

Draft went pretty well, I feel bad 2SJ got stuck with Bibby as I mentioned my concern in post 6 about the late injury and him still being ranked high.

I pushed that trade through already - I plan to be aggressive with pushing these through. Call this the "Extreme" Elimination Chamber. I want to this year to break all trading records and for you to know that if you make a deal - that guy will starting for you in two days.

I will go with the roughly 24 hours rule.. so if a trade is accepted on a Tuesday night, you can expect me to push it through Wednesday afternoon/evening (likely when I get home from work around 5 PM EST).
I don't think we've ever had a trade vetoed so I am not going to be holding up any trading at all. If something looks really out of whack or deserves a second look then we can have the league look at it or seek further unbiased opinions.

Yeah, had no clue about Bibby when I set my rankings Friday night. Oh well, maybe he will be back by Jan. In the meantime, I still like my squad. I seem to have a good mix of scoring, 3s, blocks and steals. I don't have what I consider a true PF, but I have three guys to through in the mix there and see what happens. After a few weeks I will probably know what trades I need to be looking at so I can get the ball rolling.

And you have 4 New Orleans starters, are you from Big Easy?! (actually i think I remeber MoP being autodrafted).

That was me last year. It was hard. Then, when the couple of days of trade madness took place, I knew I was jeopardizing the place at the top. The thirst for the Double drove me to make more deals though, and I ended up with no trophies. Ah, but it was worth it.

I have a question. How was Nazr dropped on 2/5 ( by Mike D ) and picked up the same day as a free agent (by Great One)?

Shouldn't he have been on waivers until 2/6?

2/5 Nazr Mohammed (Cha - C) Add Free Agents GO's Human Tornado
2/5 Jannero Pargo (NO - PG) Drop GO's Human Tornado Waivers
2/5 Jannero Pargo (NO - PG) Add Free Agents GO's Human Tornado
2/5 Jared Dudley (Cha - SF,PF) Drop GO's Human Tornado Waivers
2/5 Steve Blake (Por - PG) Add Free Agents GO's Human Tornado
2/5 James JonesINJ (Por - SF) Drop GO's Human Tornado Waivers
2/5 Joe Smith (Chi - PF) Add Free Agents The Trade King gurufly
2/5 Nazr Mohammed (Cha - C) Drop The Trade King Waivers

I've seen that happen this year, and I think Yahoo must have made a change when a transaction like that occurs. I like it actually because I really didn't have Nazr, so why have him on waivers a couple days?

Seems to me to be that something is wrong. Shorter waivers is fine ( ours is only one day ), so theoretically, he should have been a free agent today.

So, I saw he was dropped yesterday, planned on trying to grab him this morning, and noticed last night he was already taken.

Whatever the " glitch " is, I think it sucks.

Whatever the " glitch " is, I think it sucks.

it's no glitch. it's an improvement, and my guess it was done to prevent people from picking up a player and immediately dropping him for the sole purpose of preventing other owners from grabbing him.

in your list above, you left off a key part of what happened:

Feb 5 12:18am Nazr Mohammed (Cha - C) Drop The Trade King Waivers
Feb 4 10:13pm Nazr Mohammed (Cha - C) Add Free Agents The Trade King

Mohammed was on Mike's roster for about 2 hours, and didn't even play one game.

like Mike, i think this is an improvement on the game.

I understand conceptually with what you both say, and agree.

But our rules say the waiver time is one day , so I don't see what the improvement is if it is against what the league rules state.
Bottom line is Nazr shouldn't have been available as a free agent until 2/6. Unless I don't understand the rules.

Any player added and dropped in the same day is not required to clear waivers. Its like that for all Yahoo games across the board.

The rule is in place to prevent someone picking up a bunch of people and dropping them so that others wouldn't be able to claim them for a couple days. Even with one day waiver, they would still be frozen on waivers today and tomorrow.

If they are added and dropped same day its as if they were never owned.

But it does say that he was dropped to waivers, so.... I still don't get it.

Tosh, winning the league and winning the TM category is consider winning the double, the ultimate prize. Winning one of those is second best. And out of the two, the TM category is typically given more respect among the managers.

GO jumped out to what may be an insurmountable lead early on. It would take a herculean effort to catch him.

I am approving them just like normal... one overnight. Think I've got them straight with the ones that were accepted this morning vs. yesterday.

Yeah, it would be unfortunate if I lost the trades title to someone just trading for the hell of it where I clearly earned it throughout the season. I believe we've also set a record this season, perhaps we can go back through the all-time standings and see how many trades those previous winners have had.
I doubt anyone else had 20 before. We might have the whole league over 10 this year too.

And how Tree took Odom for Marion - after I'd been offering him his favorite freaking player for 2 months (Nowitzki) is beyond me.

(Various thoughts popping in my head)
1. Did I just see GO whining about people making trades? Man...this is the CHAMBER baby! There's no whining in the Chamber!

2. I can't say I've seen anything horribly unbalanced yet.

2.b. As for Odom/Marion, Odom has been an absolute beast, make that BEAST, since Pau showed up.

3. You do have to pay tribute to the 20. Thats sweet.

4. Seems to me, last year, Mike was pushing them through as soon as they were made, in that last minute flurry action. But that could just be my failing memory making things up again.

5. My squad sucks and they are all available.

Can I make a motion to have all trades made on deadline day pushed through after an hour or so? That way we can keep making them up til the last minute.

GO, quit your job or take a sick day. :)

Want me to add a special ruling for this and future Chamber seasons?

Going forward, how about...
"Starting the Monday before the trade deadline. In addition to the trades being reviewed and pushed through each morning - there will be a additional evening trade processing around 6 PM EST"

or 9 AM, 1 PM and 6 PM... its tough cause you want to give everyone an equal shot to check in and accept trades so I think its better to have set cutoff times.

I'd say you could almost just set it so there is no trade review in the last week. Nobody here is in collusion so that's not an issue.

Yeah, it makes it easier for me to go through and approve all at the same time too though. Otherwise I'd need to check in 30 times a day.
For this batch, I will do so at 1 PM. So get your deals in before then! then i will push through whatever is done this afternoon when I get home from work.

I think you are right Farn. I'll need to quit.. or start developing a cough and begin sneezing as I walk by the boss's office.

It's in a constant state of flux. And would be useless except for the next 2 minutes after it was posted.

The Bynum for Arenas trade is interesting. It's neat to see deals like that play out. Great deal from the "who knows" standpoint. Too often people in other leagues won't make deals like that.

I send GO an offer of Baron for Boozer. He accepts and writes...

What are the odds Baron finishes the day on GO's team?

So when you guys are offering, please try and add a center (even a crappy one) to my squad in any offer.

RSF and GO cracking the mythical 30 trade barrier is reminiscent of the Sosa/McGuire steroid/HGH induced record breaking HR season.

I always knew GO and RSF were on the juice, I just couldn't prove it until now. RSF always talked about the "clear" and GO always said he used a cream, but didn't know what it was.

thwarted!

when i realized reaching GO's lofty status would be difficult (although, i think i had a huge number of trades in those final days), my goal was to trade for every Maverick on an active roster. I have one final offer out there for Jason Kidd - my last elusive Maverick - but Sanforders insists he is still a Net to him, so i may not achieve this goal.

sad.

Great season again everyone. This league continues to be the best one that i play in and is the most fun and competitive. Another crazy trading frenzy the last few weeks before the deadline made for some interesting deals! Some teams kept the frenzy going the whole season - great job GO and others.

I almost didn't play this season, but i'm glad i changed my mind. this league drew me back although i gave up some other leagues due to time. Even though i did have to autopick due to traveling, i spent alot of time setting my draft list, so except for the last minute Bibby news, i was very happy with the results. I have had good luck autopicking before since it tends to take the instant emotion out of the draft process and i don't change my strategy based on other's moves and positional runs.

Kudos to the several teams that made nice runs the last month. I had a nice 10 point lead at one point and it completely went away in a few short weeks following all the trades. Nice moves by several teams addressed issues immediately, and i had to be patient. I knew my moves were based on improving the % cats mostly, and those take time to see results. I started to pull away again the last several days, so it was just barely in time. last season, I snuck up on the last day and won it, so it was nice to at least feel a little more comfortable the last week! See you guys next year!!!

Nice to see the love return. And to think I wasn't even putting this league together until.........well......until GO did it for me!

I thought you might lose that points title which would have been a shame after being ahead wire to wire (or dang near close to it). But it was neat to see you pushed, anyway! Kudos on another great year bro. Now if you could ever win that vaunted double.......that would really be special.

I felt I had too much going on to draft properly and keep up the usual high standard for that league as well. Now I wish I had not given it up since I will have to start from the bottom to make it through the minors and back to the top. See ya in 4 years!
