Flu, left shin, right shin, now lower back, make's Kaman questionable for Monday:

Center Chris Kaman was out for Saturday's game because of a sore lower back. Kaman also was hobbled by a sore shin, but he hurt his back during Friday's victory over Utah, and couldn't play against the Lakers.

"I takes three or four days for that to calm down," Clippers trainer Jasen Powell said of Kaman's back. "He had the same thing in training camp and was out two weeks, but this isn't as bad."

Kaman is considered questionable for Monday's game against the Boston Celtics at Staples Center.

More Kaman

Center Chris Kaman, already nagged by a sore right shin, sat Saturday because of a sore lower back.

The back became stiff late in Friday's game. He is listed as day-to-day. Forward Aaron Williams made his third start of the season in Kaman's place.

"It will take three or four days for the joint to calm down," trainer Jasen Powell said, adding that his status for Monday's game against the Boston Celtics is "a true question mark."

A sore lower back limited Kaman in the exhibition season for two weeks. He said his shin is an injury that may stay with him for the rest of the season.

"It isn't feeling great sometimes," he said. "The MRI's and X-rays all came back negative, which is good. There's no damage or anything. I don't know what it is exactly."

Roy to go for MRI.

Roy, an All-Star reserve and last season's Rookie of the Year, left for the locker room in the third quarter. The team said he had aggravated a right ankle sprain.

"It's pretty sore. I'm going to get an MRI tonight," Roy said. "It's something that's been bothering me since the Dallas game before the break."

Not an injury but a comment about Calderon/Ford:

"Jose's played a lot of minutes and he's been unbelievable but we need them both," Mitchell said after Toronto ran its record to 31-24. "It's a change of pace for our basketball team; you have to play them differently. When T.J. comes in the game, he gives you a different look and when Jose comes back he gives you a different look. They make our team go."

It was posted elsewhere that Lebron was questionable for Friday, which is what Rotoworld says, but

The only real good news for the Cavs (32-26) that came out of TD Banknorth Garden was that LeBron James dodged what could've been a significant injury. With four minutes left in the first half, he landed on Celtics' forward Paul Pierce's foot and turned his right ankle.

He collapsed and sat with his back to the scorer's table waiting for a timeout to get out of the game, making it look as if he'd badly injured it. James missed a game last month after spraining the same ankle in Portland.

But after an X-ray showed no break and a new tape job gave support, James was able to return in the second half and finish off a 26-point, eight-rebound effort that was not enough on this night.

''First thing I thought was not again; I didn't want to go down,'' said James, who became the youngest player to reach 10,000 career points during the game. ''I know my ankles and I know (today) is going to be a lot worse. I'll get some treatment and be ready for Friday.''

The Wizards announced on Wednesday that injured forward Caron Butler has a small labral tear of his left hip joint.

Butler, who has missed 10 straight games, won't play on Friday or Sunday and will be re-evaluated next week. Since he's not on the trip with the team, details on his recovery procedure and a return date are as sketchy as ever. But for now, go ahead and plan on benching Butler again next week. It remains to be seen if the injury was made even worse when he returned for two games after suffering the original injury, but it sounds likely.

I am not a doctor but that sounds bad. I googled this to see what would be the time table for his return, and the only thing I could find is that if surgury is needed it's a 12 week recovery.

This doesn't sound good for any owners of Caron in roto leagues. (Especially me!)

Bosh's knee

Chris Bosh waived to the bench as he made is way up the court, signaling to coach Sam Mitchell that his knee was sore after just 10 minutes and that his night was over.....

Team officials said Bosh originally hurt his knee during Monday's win in Indiana and also felt some pain during Wednesday's rout of Minnesota.

When it began hurting him again early in last night's game, he asked coach Sam Mitchell to be taken out of the game after less than 10 minutes and he headed directly to the locker room with athletic trainer Scott McCullough.

The Raptors said the decision not to return last night was for precautionary measures and he'll be re-examined today before a decision is made on whether or not he'll travel with the team for a three-game road trip to Charlotte, Orlando and Miami which begins tomorrow night.

Bosh day to day. MRI shows no structural damage.

Some of that might have to do with the absence of Bosh, who left after just 10 minutes with a sore right knee. But in what was the only good news on the night, an MRI showed no structural damage and he's being listed as day-to-day.

``I think I know my body now," said Bosh, who said he originally felt pain in a Monday game in Indiana but played pain-free against Minnesota on Wednesday. "I've had things similar to this, so I know if I take care of it it'll be fine really soon.

``It feels good when I'm walking around. But walking around and playing in a game are two different things. I'm real optimistic about everything, and I hope everything's all right.''

Baron and Ellis

Nelson said an MRI turned up no structural damage on guard Baron Davis' right pinkie finger, which was jammed early in the Warriors' win Saturday against Memphis. Davis, who practiced Monday with his ring and pinkie fingers taped together, said the finger had improved since Saturday and is expected to play tonight.

Ellis' brother was released from the hospital after being shot in the back twice over the weekend in Jackson, Miss. Antwain Ellis, 27, was released Monday from University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jeffery Scott said. There are no suspects in the shooting and no arrests have been made. Monta Ellis was at practice Monday.

Caron Butler has a chipped bone in his left wrist, the result of a tough fall he took while making a layup during Thursday's win over Cleveland. Butler told me that it won't require surgery and that he can play with it. However, in the last two games, it's clearly been a problem. He's had trouble dribbling with his left hand and gripping the basketball has been an issue as well.

Manu Ginobili is dealing with a tender right ankle he tweaked on Monday, but shouldn't miss any time. In addition, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said he plans on bringing Manu off the bench for the duration of the season.

Antawn Jamison was seen wearing a sling after spraining his right shoulder during Wednesday's game. He did not practice on Thursday and will be examined by doctors sometime later in the day. The unofficial word is that he's expected to miss "at least a couple of games."

Owners should sideline Jamison, and it looks as though his status is in doubt for the most crucial week in the entire fantasy basketball schedule. It's a cruel game, but there's still a possibility that we'll hear a positive update in the next day or two.

The Kings have three studs questionable for Saturday's game -- Kevin Martin is sick, Ron Artest has a sprained left thumb and Brad Miller has a lower leg strain.

Artest is having X-rays taken later in the day, and owners might have to scramble to bench these guys if we don't get a positive update in the next couple of hours. Francisco Garcia and John Salmons should have big games if Martin and Artest can't suit up, while Spencer Hawes is a fine fantasy option as long as Miller doesn't play.

LeBron James will play in Wednesday's game against the Nets, despite concern about his lingering back spasms.

Interesting quote (in bold) from Gerald Wallace below. That explains many things!

Gerald Wallace, likely out for the season because of a lingering groin injury, plans on doing yoga and pilates this summer to avoid another injury plagued season in 2008-2009. Here is a disturbing quote from Wallace: "I've been in the league seven years, and I've probably stretched twice." That is completely amazing, and helps to explain Wallace's many pulled muscles over the years.
