It's been a great season. I had fun getting to know you guys this season. Hopefully TSN Hoops will be back next season, and we'll make new memories.

Yeah I'm not ready for this to be it for TSN. As much as I hate it sometimes I'd really, really miss it.

I feel like I'm catching my second wind now, I wish the season would go longer. My GMD team sadly looks to be in the worst shape of my three teams, but it still has a chance to recover if Al Jefferson's game last night was a fluke. I decided to go aggressive on that one and take the Carmelo games against Phoenix thinking the combination of Denver's need to win and the lack of anybody to guard him would be worth the trades. Oh well.

my favorite option appears very risky which I am not sure is what i want to be doing at this point. I also trying to work out a way to get back into Lebron which looks difficult with many popular forwards

dpr, I have the same prob with Jamison, no option looks good. If I had position flex, I'd get Tmac for a B2B and move into Howard in 2 days. But I don't. Seems like I gotta roll the dice with Artest.

yea. with your trades today it really looks like a dead heap. You have an extra trade but I have an extra game for the players on my roster. A quick looks tells no trade can gain more than a game so it seems we should be even there except the inevitable DNPs.

Looks like Ellis Baron Aljeff vs Melo AI and Kidd for now. For today youve beat me just a matter if it gives u the lead which looks likely as of no (5 mins left in DEN and you have already gained 8.5.

Be a fun race to the finish. No Baron and Aljeff need to start playing like studs

luckily they only gained 1 point in OT combined. At this point I think I need DEN to keep losing so that they are eliminated and sit or to clinch a berth early. With Bandwagon now in the lead and with superior players currently IMO I feel I am now the player in need to surprise DNPs to have a chance

What a chess match this will be the next 10 days. Hopefully nothing stupid will happen to our teams.

Looks like TSN has some of the trophies a year behind. According to Guru's standings page, Luebeck Eagles won in 2005. His trophy at TSN says 2004. Now I just need the winners from 2003 and 2004. The standings page doesn't go back that far.

I assume that someone from this site won it in those years.

Maybe TSN lists the winner of the year 2004/2005 as the 2004 winner? Or they have done it either way which is causing the confusion?

The 2003-2004 winner was Dr. D beat Gmoney and tothreeball.

The 2002-2003 winner was Guru with rockafellaskank and ukula behind.

I think David R. won 2001-2002 season.

Thanks T'Wolves, I think Dr. D completed the puzzle. Does this look correct for the Ultimate?

2000/2001: Bandwagon
2001/2002: SANFORDORS
2002/2003: Guru
2003/2004: Dr D
2004/2005: Luebeck Eagles
2005/2006: L'Bron
2006/2007: T'Wolves

I wish we had the winners of the small world game before the Ultimate era. Same game, but free to play. I know Guru won that one in 97/98. When was the first year for Small World hoops?

impressive we both made the stoudemire to gasol trade. One thing I am not quite sure how to quantify is that last day and the value of having a game. obviously we get games to trade out of our Lakers but then we cant trade people who will be sitting or playing limited minutes on the last dat which should be quite a few.

I believe you are now ahead by 3.5 points. going to be quite the finish

Don't know how this is gonna sound, hopefully not too bad because I don't have mean intentions, but...

In 2000/2001, Monuments won. I know you BW did win what was a paying version of the same game that year (and beat Monuments on that one), but what was recognized as the main TSN game (the one used in Gurupie Standings, etc.) was won by Monuments. Sorry to nitpick but reading that just had a feel of revisionist history, I love your contributions to the forum and everything, and have nothing against you, but it just didn't felt right.

In 1999/2000 the main game, which was hosted on Smallworld, was won by J-Smooth (migdallion now). KB8ers did win the CNN/SI version, but same thing here, what I feel is the "main" game was won by J-smooth.

In 1998/1999 I think it was Bethesda Panthers who won.

Not too sure of the dates and all, I'm at work right now but I have lots of old stuff stored on my comp at home (top 100 finishes, etc.). And Dpr, that'd be pretty sick if you finished 2nd once again dropping at the very end, seems like you're cursed.

Thanks JCS for past Smallworld winners. In post #18 I was clearly trying to list winners of the Ultimate game only since it started in 2000. I realize at that time the free game was still the main game, and I meant no disrespect to the free game. I played that also.

I didn't play from 2001 thru 2004 so I don't know exactly when the free game faded out.

It would be awesome if someone had all the past winners of the free smallworld game to go along with the Ultimate winners.

Thanks for the info

Quiet a finish to say the least. One of us will be very excited on the 17th, and the other will be sick, and think about all the moves we should've done etc etc.

When it's all said and done, both of us have had a great season, and neither of us should hang our head in defeat.

I really feel I need to dump Kidd today. I'm not a Kidd hater like SU, but he's not one of my favorite fantasy options.

He drives me crazy with his 55's, then he throws up a 25. It all averages out to around 42, but he's been known to string several games in the 20's and low thrities. I feel he has entered this stretch once again two games ago. They have Portland and Seattle next 2 games, and a playoff spot secured so I bet Kidd sees under 30 mins per game in the next 2.

I see you're going to have some tough decisions also on when to let Baron and Ellis go. If you hold through the Suns game, your options on the 15th are a toss up on who will play both games on the 15/16, and how many mins they will see if they do play. (Atl,Cha,Det,LAC,Mem,Min,NJ,NO,Orl,Por)

I love the sell dates for Iverson/Anthony, but I'm not fond of the matchups against Utah and Houston coming up.

Both of us have some huge decisions to make in the next few days which will probably be exciting and stressful at the same time.

yea I am not quite sure how i am going to use my last 3 trades. Thought about moving Monta or Baron but they both have performed well the last few days. They may even be held to the very end.

Pretty much after each game for anyone of my players I can make a trade to gain a game but never 2 so its just moving the best people. I figured I would sit for today as the players I have are still in it and it would be a shame to move Monta into a player just to have that player sit later in the week so i figure waiting makes the most sense as I still get the games and there is no players that will for sure be better then them.

One trade almost definitely will be to move Aljeff and he seems to provide several options but including the risk/reward of james but not sure I want to go there. Also I would likely want to move Camby as he seems a big risk to sit if the last game isnt important to their seeding. That leaves me 1 trade which I likely will hold to pick up a b2b the last few days or if I get an unexpected DNP from someone.

definitely going to be very interesting

Yea I'm thinking about holding one of the Nuggets also just to have a extra trade on the 16th.

Al Jefferson and the player I pick up tonight are definately the wild cards. I assume Baron/Ellis will produce the same as Iverson/Carmelo. I was hoping you would keep Al Jefferson ;)

I've got a Kidd replacement narrowed down to two players (Iggy/Gay). Iggy averages more TSNP's than the Gay, but my gut, and Mrs. Bandwagon say go with Gay. Joe Johnson is #3, but once they clinch the 8th spot, I'm afraid of reduced minutes. I can't get Lebron from Kidd, it has to be a guard.

I'm having a hard time trading a player averaging 42 TSNP's per game for one averaging 32 TSNP's per game, but I don't feel comfortable with Kidd's situation.

This is going to be one of those make or break decisions. Wow, what pressure!

Which of the following game combinations would you guys take:

A) 2 Duncan and 2 4/15 games (Maybe JSmith and JJohnson?)
B) 2 Duncan and Carmelo's next 2 games
C) The 2 Carmelo games and the 2 4/15 games

Plan A is probably the safest in terms of flexibility in case someone gets hurt or sits early. But B and C are very tempting at the moment due to the way Carmelo has been playing. Any thoughts?

Today's going to be interesting with all the back-to-back options from which we can choose. The four most popular I assume will be Duncan, Lebron, Bosh, and Mcgrady. If Lebron plays full minutes as he has been, he's certainly the best option of the four. Duncan has the highest average of the other three, and all three teams are competing for spots. If you guys had the choice would you rather take Bosh or Mcgrady?

Yeah Bosh is probably the way to go. I'm just wondering now how much these next 2 Bosh games compare to 2 more games on 4/15. There's the added factor also with the 4/15 games in that whoever I'd take on that day also would have to play on 4/16 to make it worth it. With Indiana blowing it last night, Atlanta's starters aren't a lock to play anymore. Dwight could get reduced minutes. Carter you never know what could happen. It's hard to tell. I'm probably leaning towards taking Bosh. There's also the option of also taking Mcgrady and giving up another two 4/15 games, but that may be too risky.

yea I am having a hard time too. Ideally I want players I think can play all 3 games since I likely will move Camby and dont want to have extra trades to move if I here someone is sitting. James for this reason is risky because they should clinch before the final game and with back issues I would think would sit in that case. He also hasnt been quite as dominant lately to be worth the extra risk. TMAC sat a few days ago with the games just as important. TD and howard already seem to have there production slipping so I am thinking Bosh. Hopefully the desire to avoid BOS/DET keeps them caring til the end

In my situation I can gamble that Lebron plays the next two games and sell him before the last one, but even then it's kind of unnerving. I think I have to take the chance though given his upside. Duncan I'm hoping will have a big game today on TV against the Lakers. Right now I'm leaning towards the Lebron-Duncan combination, and on one team I'd be taking Bosh in addition. Bosh has been great but historically he's had a tendency to randomly throw up unexpected sub-20s for me.

Believe me, I should be basing my choices around your opinion. So far Bosh is having a good game and it's a close one, it's looking like he'll pan out. Lebron I've refused to buy all week, but now with the Cavs losing so much and the Wizards still winning despite the absence of Butler, I get the sense he'll make it through these next two games. If I had to have him for all three, then I would have taken Bosh x3 instead.

I think there was a game this year that had its time changed, that ended up altering my trading plans.

I think you're ok DPR. I changed my plans today because Denver has a 2 out of 3 chance to play for a win on the 16th. Looks like they will beat Houston tonight, so I'll need GState to win tomorrow, otherwise Denver has nothing to play for on the 16th.

I picked up Lebron and T-Mac, and Bosh beat Lebron by 3. T-Mac and Anthony both have 4 fouls early in the 3rd, not looking good for me with Denver up by 18.

I pretty much threw my last hay maker today.

the move to salmons was a big risk but it looks like it could pay off. huge game from him tonight. Baron made this get real close again. Im likely going to move into richardson which will give me him plus west to your salmons. going by averages you should have a lead of about 10 going into last day. definitely going to be interesting especially now that there are very few teams playing for anything. My having an extra trade te last day could help me get out of any DNPs whereas what i see as a likely Lebron DNP or one from Camby you cant avoid. going to be very exciting

Yea, I probably should've traded Camby instead of Carmelo, but GState lost so I doubt any of the 3 will play much, or at all.

Yesterday I had a 66% chance of Denver needing to play on the 16th to make the playoffs, but of course the averages fail me again along with T-Mac who I will never ever pick up again, and Lebron, Gay all with below average performances this trade week.

It would've been real exciting if GState would've won tonight. I felt like I had to take a chance on Salmons to have a shot at winning. I really thought GState would win. I guess I still have a chance to win, but I would need a miracle for all my players to play on the 16th.

Regardless of the outcome, I have really enjoyed competing with you this season. You have dominated most of the season, and I'm just glad I could make you sweat alot at the end. You're a great manager, whom I look forward to competing against for several more years.

I'm sure this will go down as one of the closest finishes ever. Atleast you and I will never forget this ; )

Should still be interesting especially if we both have a full slate on the final day but i guess Lebron is already supposed to be resting. But even one done your not completely out. Also who knows some of my players could sit now too. Ellis no longer has anything to play for and neither does Bosh.

Definitely has been a fun season when it hasnt driven me crazy.

Wow! I was at work last night and I checked the score of the Cavs/76'ers game. Yahoo had the game FINAL with Philly winning by 1. Since Philly won, I knew that Lebron would have to play on the 16th to secure home court, so I used my last trade to get Salmons.

I wake up today, flip on sportscenter, and I see that the officials reviewed the end of the game, and brought everyone back from the locker room and let Cleveland shoot 2 free throws to win the game! Cleveland wins, and now Lebron sits out on Wednesday and I have no trades to dump him! That is truely unbeleivable to me.

Can you top that bad luck SU?

When I saw that Cleveland had lost, I knew Lebron would have to play on Wednesday, so I took Salmons back to back knowing I'd have to use my 4 trades on Wednesday to cut the three Lakers and Salmons. That's why I didn't respond to your James comment last night. I was thinking, wow, this DPR guy doesn't know that Cleveland really wants home court advantage for the 1st round. lol

Anyway the end result may of been the same regardless, but I would've felt more comfortable knowing Lebron had to play on Wednesday instead of taking up a slot on my team for a DNP. I still would've been the underdog even if Lebron did play.

It's totally all my fault, I should've triple checked all the boxscores before I did the move. Bringing a team out of the locker room to shoot game winning free throws doesn't happen much though.

#66 - I think that might be the most ridiculous single incident of bad luck I've heard. I've had a share of obnoxiously ridiculous painful ones, but to make a move based off of a final box score, only to have the final reversed and players brought back out - that's just brutal. I wouldn't second guess the decision though, I'd bet this was the first time this ever happened.

Yea, that's definately a classic that I will gripe about for years ;)

Like I said though, even with Lebron, I'd still be a long shot to win it since Denver got eliminated.

I have no idea how to rank the options for tonight. One team I actually have to pick four players with back to backs. Two I'm pretty set on, they seem like no brainers. But then those last two are tricky. All of the Bobcats have been playing pretty well, and then there's the Portland guys (Roy especially) and the most interesting of all, Carter and Harris. They've had nothing to play for for awhile now and have been playing great, if they don't sit they could be huge.

Ugh. I was about to click on Richardson but decided to "aim high" with Carter. At least that team looks like it probably won't finish as my best, at the time I mistakenly thought it was going to. Now I have 4 minutes to decide which two of Brand, West, and Roy to take...

Haha, well at least one of my "obvious" ones panned out. I had West as my #1 and Brand as my #2. I figured those two had the least risk of sitting out of anyone - West had something to play for, and Brand had nothing to play for when he came back in the first place so you knew he'd play. Plus the Clippers were playing two playoffs teams, so I figured they'd try hard to serve as spoilers for the hell of it. Unfortunately I skipped Richardson entirely, and went with Brand and his 14 point dump on all three teams. Carter ended up recovering at least but he's only on one team. Now I'm just waiting for Roy to disappoint. I'm ready for next season.

Well today went better then expected. Yesterday i said if palyers hit there averages i would be down ten. I am up 30.

Still tho I dont consider it over. Our rosters tomorrow could share as few as 2 players. Even if lebron sits (has this been finalized?) you would just need 8 more TSNP per game from your players. A lot but on the last day anything can happen.

It was discouraging to realize that all the West studs who still have something to play for have been playing poorly of late and I dont know whether to expect that to improve. (Nash, Boozer, Kidd, Dirk, Duncan, TMAC) I will have to see what i want to do. Maybe ill just mirror you tho that is no fun

Also you are writing off the DEN players but it is possible that they decide they want seventh place and the matchup with NO and play hard tomorrow. In Bosh and West i ahve 2 palyers looking to paly limited minutes and i can only move 1

Kudo's on the JRich pick-up. That pretty much summed up the past week for me.

My Denver players could play, but the desperation mode isn't there now, so it's very possible they see similiar minutes to Bosh etc. Plus they are playing Memphis, so that game could be over after the 1st quarter. I'm just thankful that they are talking about playing at all. Atleast that gives me a fighting chance.

Down 31 on the last day and without Lebron playing certainly isn't the scenerio I saw 2 days ago, but that's the hand I was dealt.

It's going to take divine intervention to over come this obstacle, but all things are possible.

I took a vacation day from work tonight so I can stay glued to the TV/computer, lol

yea my fourth is a little more difficult. Coming down to west and Bosh. i guess bosh is expected to only see 20-25 mins. I cant think of any of my players DNP so thats about the worst. West could see limited minutes but they may want to beat DAL so they have a chance to get DEN in first round. I will hope for a DAL victory tho so DEN gives up at least in the second half.

Deciding who to pick up is tough to as i find myself drawn to players whose teams are out of it as the have the higher averages recently but these are likely riskier and I am not sure that is the route that I should go. Maybe just pick up TMAC AI and Camby and make u beat be by 30 4 vs 5. But I feel there are better options. Well we will see and I am real curious who u choose. Hopefully i can find out before the 11 oclock freeze

Sure thing, I'll let you know who I pick after they are froze. That way you can know who to root against.

I agree on some horrible averages from some of the studs lately. It makes our decisions much harder. I have lost alot of confidence in some of those players. Seems like alot of them have really wore down in the 2nd half of the season.

I really need the law of averages to come into play tonight which means JRich should get 1 TSNP.
Hopefully T-Mac will get 54 to make up for his 29 and 23 he gave me a few days ago ;)

Dont tell me your moves as they lock as i still have a decision to make and it may influence my decision.

With Amare DNP im skipping class and waiting on where to go.I had moved Bosh but no Amare is the likely target. It has to be a center but my choice out of Bosh was a center anyways. I will weigh my options before deciding. my other 3 moves are locked in however.

If i was correct a few days ago and Amare was ure alternative to salmons then the "final" boxscore may have been a blessing in disguise.

Did you leave ureself any discretion or all your moves locked in?

Luckily that is not how the law of averages works

No, my last trade was saved for Lebron if they won, because that meant Lebron would probably sit on Wednesday.

If Cleveland had lost and he had to play today, I was going to trade off one of my Nuggets for a King, and that's exactly how I executed my plan after I saw the Phily/Clev boxscore Final in which Philly had intially won.

Nice start for West/JRich. 23.5 and 19.5 at the half.

I took a flyer on Sessions, I had a flashback of Jamal Tinsley several years ago where he went on about a 5 game 18+ assist rampage, puke so far!

I also got Jefferson. I really wanted Kidd, but I thought you may take him, plus he puts up alot of stinkers.

I haven't decided 100% on my other 2 forwards. Melo's been good for me, but having 3 Nuggets is risky tonight.

Hopefully Ellis comes back in the 4th and scores 20, otherwise I'm really going to be ticked about that Philly/Clevland game the other night.

#112, yea, I get frustrated at players easily, and where my heart on my sleeve. I also like to vent alot, that's why I feel a strong fantasy connection with SU. He seems to where his heart on his sleeve also. I really had no idea I was that close last night until I saw that Deron only had like 4 or 5 TSNP's. I assumed he'd get 40 when I wrote post 109.

Anyway, I did think it was over 3 or 4 times the past month, but some of our players were roller coasters. Odom/Melo/Iverson/JRich putting up 60's. I trade/plan on averages, and I don't expect those type of games, and with one or two of those type games, you're right back in the game.

What a ride this was.

Congrats to team Bandwagon for such a convincing overall victory! A gap of more than 4000 TSNP to second place can truly be labeled as dominating the competition. It think it was by January already that you didn't leave any doubt about which team would be hoisting the GMD trophy in the end. And all this with the original roster! So kudos to Bandwagon for doing such a great draft and for playing an awesome comeback season after a few years of absence from the game.
