Paul Millsap will have an MRI on his hyper-extended knee on Wednesday and is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Mavericks.
Millsap's owners can take comfort in the fact that he played all of the second half on Tuesday, though he did say afterward that he felt like he was playing on one leg. If he misses Friday's game the Jazz frontcourt will be extremely thin -- Carlos Boozer (quad) is out and Mehmet Okur (back) is a game-time decision. Guys like Kosta Koufos and Kyrylo Fesenko could play heavy minutes, but are unlikely to have much fantasy value.

Millsap update

Millsap suffered a hyperextended knee in the first quarter of Tuesday night's 94-86 loss at Milwaukee. After being helped to the locker room, he returned and played the entire second half. But his ability to run, jump and defend was limited, he said.

Millsap underwent an MRI exam Wednesday afternoon but, because of Christmas, the results won't be known until Friday. The team lists him as questionable for the game against the Mavericks.

It appears that Danny Granger will be in the starting lineup for the Pacers on Sunday despite leaving his last game with a concussion.
According to Conrad Brunner's "matchups" column, Granger will square off against Rasual Butler and the Hornets today, which should result in some solid production.

Of course, Nene is day to day:

Denver played without center Nene (cervical sprain), who is day-to-day, and the void was apparent. The Nuggets were outrebounded 44-27.

But the season is apparently taking it's toll on Nene, from a couple days ago:

Update from Wash Post 2:19 PM Saturday

Forward Andray Blatche, who sprained his left ankle in last night's loss at Boston, had limited activity at practice today and will be a game-time decision for tomorrow's game against Cleveland.

It would not be a surprise if Blatche finds a way to suck it up and play: along with DeShawn Stevenson, he was the only Wizard to appear in all 82 games last season and he has yet to miss a game this season.

Stevenson remains out with a lower back problem is officially listed as day-to-day though he said that he expects to miss around two and a half weeks.

Rotoworld.com - Tracy McGrady is being shut down for the next two weeks in order to try to let his surgically repaired left knee fully heal.
The Rockets only play four times in the next 12 days which should mean he won't miss a ton of games, but whether or not he is ever at full strength this season is anyone's guess. Von Wafer looks like a decent pick up in deeper leagues.

Paul Millsap had fluids drained from his bruised right knee on Monday, but team doctors expect him to be available for Wednesday's game.
Millsap had played in 194 consecutive games before spraining a ligament in his left knee on December 23rd. It sounds safe to get him back into all lineups, while his return will move Andrei Kirilenko back to his role as sixth-man.

Millsap puts chances of playing at 90%

Before practice Tuesday morning, power forward Paul Millsap put his chance of returning to the Jazz lineup for tonight's road-trip-opening game in Oklahoma City at "90 percent."

Still could be. Then again, it might've been some wishful thinking on his part.

Though Millsap officially remains a game-time decision against the Thunder, he "didn't practice much" Tuesday, according to a team spokesman. While he said he'd improved, Millsap also admitted to having limited jumping abilities from his latest knee injury.

Jermaine O'Neal is expected to practice Thursday, and if there's no major swelling in his knee, he will play on Friday against his former team, the Pacers.
Beat writer Doug Smith believes O'Neal will come off the bench initially, which would keep the red-hot Andrea Bargnani in the lineup for now. However, O'Neal isn't likely to be thrilled with a long-term bench role, so at some point he'll either return to the starting five, get hurt again or get traded. In any case, it appears Bargnani's value may be safe for at least the time being.

Baron and Randolph:
Maybe the Clippers can see this as a bit of good news.

When the team had its shoot-around Saturday, injured players Baron Davis and Zach Randolph both put in a little work.

With that in mind, Coach Mike Dunleavy was asked how close Davis, who missed his eighth consecutive game because of a bruised tailbone, and Randolph, who missed his 11th consecutive game because of a sore left knee, are to playing again.

"I saw them on the court shooting for the first day today," Dunleavy said. "So that's not doing any running. So, it's hard to say."

Randolph is battling an ear and nose infection that may further delay his return.

Dunleavy said both Davis and Randolph will need to practice full-bore before a decision can be made on their readiness.

"So I still think it's a little bit away," Dunleavy said.

Chris Duhon missed practice on Sunday with back spasms, which started giving him trouble in the third quarter of Saturday's loss to the 76ers. Duhon, who is second in the NBA in minutes (39.5), played just 26:07 on Saturday and slightly over eight minutes in the second half.

Mike D'Antoni said Duhon has played through some back stiffness earlier this season and expects Duhon will play in Monday's MLK matinee against Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls. Duhon received treatment on his back and run on a treadmill.

But there is little doubt that any problems with Duhon are a major concern for the Knicks, who can ill-afford to lose their point guard. As I wrote in today's story, Duhon has arguably been D'Antoni's most important player this season.

A televised report prior to Monday's Clippers game suggests that Marcus Camby is not likely to play this week due to his ankle injury.
Rookie DeAndre Jordan started at center Monday, but Brian Skinner (who started at power forward) should be the biggest beneficiary of Camby's absence and is worth adding if you're in need of rebounds and blocks.

Deseret News: Utah Jazz: Three regulars miss practice

The Jazz practiced today without three of their regulars, but at least two of them may be available when LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers visit Saturday night.

Sixth man Andrei Kirilenko was still rehabbing his inflamed right ankle, replacement-starter power forward Paul Millsap sat out the session because of soreness in his bruised right knee and reserve forward matt Harpring didn't practice so he could rehab his surgically repaired right knee.

Kelenna Azubuike is a game-time decision for Friday after suffering a sprained left ankle in Wednesday's loss to the Thunder.
He was said to be noticeably limping on Thursday so start him at your own risk tonight.

Camby obviously missed last night's game, despite the news earlier he might be available.

Sounds like a risky play in the near future:

They had hoped for an early return from Marcus Camby (sprained left ankle). But that turned out to be wishful thinking.

Camby went the full practice on Thursday. But the problem came Friday morning.

"It ballooned up again," he said. "I was just going out there to gauge it and see how it was going to be. Once I had the adrenaline going, I was out there playing and playing.

"I thought I was going to be good -- till I woke up. I was trying to push it and get back out there on the court. I wouldn't call it a setback because they said I was going to be out a whole lot longer.

"I knew it was going to hurt [Friday]. When I saw the swelling, I knew something wasn't right."

All of these from Rotoworld:

Andrei Kirilenko (inflamed ankle) does not expect to play in Utah's game on Saturday.

Marcus Camby (sprained ankle) is questionable to play in the Clippers game on Sunday.

Kevin Martin skipped the Kings practice on Friday to attend his great-grandmother's funeral, but he is expected to play in Saturday's game.

Bobcats guard D.J. Augustin (strained abdomen) is hoping to return on Friday.

Mid to late week injuries are never fun:
Michael Redd left during the third quarter of Saturday's game after straining his left knee. He did not return and is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Sunday.

Redd limped off the court, and we can only hope that this isn't anything too serious. If he ends up missing significant time, Charlie Villanueva, Richard Jefferson and Ramon Sessions will likely be asked to pick up the slack on offense. Check back on Sunday for the test results.

Clippers' starting point guard Mardy Collins will miss Sunday's game with a strained left calf.
He left Friday's game with the injury, although it remains to be seen who will start for the Clippers. Fred Jones played a lot of point guard on Friday, so he could get the call today. Baron Davis, Zach Randolph and Chris Kaman are also out, while Marcus Camby is listed as questionable with an ankle sprain.

Time for our "twice daily" Camby update:

Marcus Camby (sprained ankle) is questionable to play in Monday's game against the Blazers.
Camby sat out on Sunday after being listed as a game-time decision. It's possible he wanted to avoid playing in back-to-back games, but Clipsnation.com writes that Camby "probably won't be playing" vs. the Blazers. The Clips play four times this week, so at least there is some room for error.

Here's what the Washington Post said about Blatche:

Late in the fourth, Blatche tried to dribble around O'Neal along the left baseline. O'Neal appeared to kick Blatche, then Blatche bumped knees with O'Neal and crashed to the floor, writhing in pain. After laying on the floor for several minutes, Blatche hopped back toward the tunnel on one leg. Blatche said he will attempt to practice on Tuesday, but the team will list him as day-to-day with a strained left knee. "That was the scariest thing ever. I thought it was something serious," Blatche said. "I felt a pop, but it should be fine. All I know is [O'Neal] hit me and I went flying."

update on Camby:

The game recap for the Clippers indicated that Marcus Camby is not due back from his ankle injury until "sometime during the Clippers' seven-game road trip that begins Friday in Cleveland."
However, the L.A. Times also suggests that it could happen "sooner," but it doesn't sound like Camby has a great shot at playing Wednesday against the Bulls. There's still a chance he could play two or three games this week, but this sounds like a tough break for owners who rolled the dice on him this week. Jan. 27 - 1:36 am et

Mothereffin' Baron Davis's return is probably going to be delayed a little further. I say probably because apparently the Baron is back to his tricks from the old days of playing a relatively small portion of the season, and sitting out (read: relaxing) the rest.

Latest News:
Baron Davis was sent home Monday due to chest congestion. He worked out on the court before the game and is still expected back in the lineup either Wednesday or Friday of this week. He's missed 13 straight games due to a bruised tailbone and is also bothered by the cold, as well as a hamstring injury.

As per Rotoworld at 3:16 P.M.

Andray Blatche will miss two to four weeks after sustaining a strained left knee in a collision with Shaquille O'Neal on Monday.

Either Darius Songaila or JaVale McGee will start in Blatche's place on Wednesday, and of the two, McGee has significantly more upside and is the more promising waiver wire add. Just keep in mind that the rookie is likely to be inconsistent.

Blake himself said that the shoulder is too sore to play through, so don't expect him to suit up.
