Rather than opening the RIHC AAA qualifying leagues on the forum, I’ve attempted to do most of the work through email. Of the managers who are prequalified (the RIHC managers not invited back to the RIHC, plus the top half of each qualifying league from 2011-12), I have 23 acceptances, one decline, and one still not responding (WonderB).
As part of the recruiting process, I asked each manager for a preference of either Yahoo or ESPN. Some preferred Yahoo, some preferred ESPN, and some didn’t care. To the extent that a preference was specified, I was able to honor it.

Last year, we had two AA leagues for Hoops. It is unclear whether we’ll have sufficient interest for two leagues again this year.
So far, I have emailed all of last year’s participants who finished in the bottom half of each qualifying league. After allowance for duplicates, that makes 20 managers. So far, eleven have responded positively. Three others declined, and six have yet to respond.
Wolfer has once again volunteered to commish a AA league, and as the dominant preference of the early respondents has been for a Yahoo league, that’s where the first league will be hosted. If there are enough people interested in a second league, we can do that – although we’ll need a commish for the second league.

Pacers Rule will be a great commish. Looking forward to the season and the challenge that will come with the 12 ESPN managers.
Last year was my first year doing this and it was pretty cool. I learned a lot during the season trying to balance all the pts. Unfortunately, other than not having your top 3 pick get injured early in the season (Brooks Lopez) I can't remember a damn thing about what I learned but I still plan to "bring it!"

Looks like we're gonna come up short for a second AA league. That's too bad. I would love to see 5 managers appear to make this happen. I would even bite the bullet and be the commishioner. 5 miracle managers emerge!

I've emailed Meatwads and asked him to go ahead and set up a second AA league. There are ten potential managers who do not have another RIHC team (nine above, plus one who contacted me via email). If all ten follow through, then we'll need only two of the "second teamers".
Time will be of the essence!

I literally just checked my e-mail for the first time and saw that the second AA league came together. I'll get working on setting up the league and sending out invitations as soon as I hear back from Guru about a couple questions I have. I'm going to use ESPN since I'm more familiar with it. Since I have never played in one of these leagues I may have a few questions for more experienced people throughout the setup process. Hopefully we can make this happen. I will certainly be sending out invitations today.

@ may kasahara...I've already sent out invitations to 12 managers so technically the league is full but some of the managers are taking a while to sign up. Since we are running out of time to get the draft started up, if all of the managers aren't signed up by the end of the day today, I will drop one of them and add you. The most important thing right now is getting the draft started since the season is getting so close. I plan to start the draft tomorrow. If a spot becomes available I will e-mail you with all the information by late tonight or early tomorrow morning.
