He's about to beat a record I thought might stay for a loooong time still. He did it by largely by working hard to stay healthy and being consistently good at his job.

LeBron moves within 36 points of all-time NBA scoring record

Props to Lebron. An absolutely incredible feat.

Moving up on the assists list too. I think Chris Paul will retire before him.

Who is this MJ guy? How many did he score in the no zone defense days?

Lebron would have cleared Ehlo by at least another foot!

Must be a Buckeye, eh PD? Guru?

Realistically, it's going to be a hard record to break too. With no more 18 year olds coming in the league.

You might be right, GO. The next LeBron will have to wait to enter the league (though I understand the CBA allows 19-year olds to be drafted if they are at least one calendar year graduated from hs).

I've been poking around on the various all-time lists which has been a lot of fun. Ever hear of Dolph Schayes? I didn't. But he *averaged* a double double for 11 straight years (!!)

Did you know, Lebron will break his own record every game he scores in from here on out?

Go to a game, and you can tell your friends that you were there when he broke the record.

Everyone in BAL/DC I know was there when Ripken broke the record. I got to Camden myself one game. He broke the record that night, and I was there.

I was there at Camden that night, too, Bean. I was more comfortable outside of the stadium 🏟 so I hung out next to the warehouse. It was also less expensive that way 😄
