Subject: Using Trades During All-Star Week

Is it worth using your trades during All-Star Week? I mean you would use them if you had some injuries. But not many players have good or decent schedules. So is it worth using trades?

Isn't "good or decent schedules" a relative term? For example, the Sacramento players (Webber, Peja, Christie) play 3 games that week when no one else plays more than 2. Also, wouldn't you use some/all of your trades that week to get out of players whose schedules slow down and into players whose schedules heat up over the next 3 weeks?

I know some managers will not use trades that week, but the ASB affords a time to review your roster to plan for the next few weeks and make trades to will set your roster in the future.

The one advantage to the four days off is that you can go invalid without losing points -- so if the player you plan to sell has a bad post ASB schedule, you can just sell and wait to buy the replacement until you get a look at price trends. This works when the player you plan to buy has been losing money or holding steady. I am going to do this with Iverson on the morning of 2/8 -- not sure who I'm going to buy, but I have time to decide.

I've asked Bernie to clarify what will happen for repricing during the break. At least once in the last couple of years, they suspended daily repricing for the 4 days of the ASB. If they do that again, then going invalid will have no impact.

The Kings do play 3 games in the first seven days following the break, but GMan is wrong about no one else playong more than two. I did all that research with Mentors this morning:
The best scheds after the break:
Chicago has 5 in 7 and 10 in 17.
Denver has 5 in 7 and 9 in 17.
Lakers has 4 in 7 and 10 in 17.
Milwaukee has 5 in 7 and 10 in 17
Phoenix has 4 in 7 and 10 in 17.
Seattle has 4 in 7 and 10 in 17.
Toronto has 5 in 7 and 10 in 17.
Utah has 5 in 7 and 8 in 17.

The trade week which overlaps the ASB (2/6 - 2/12), he plays on 2/6, 2/7 and 2/12.

Mattinglyinthehall - you can probably tell from my last post what I thought Drunken Ballers meant by All-Star week. My response would have been different if I thought he meant "following the break".

I was just looking for a little clarification on Mark L's comment...Say TSN doesn't suspend the daily 4-day repricing, if a team leaves a player off their roster during the ASB in order to look at how the price swings play out and so forth would your team still see gains/losses for the other 9 players you have active, or would your team be considered invalid with reference to money seeing as though their are no games?

Bernie just confirmed that there will be no daily price updates during the break. An official announcement will be posted shortly.
