As an appreciation for all the people that contirbute to this forum, I'd like to nominate a Gurupie All-Star team.
At Point Guard . . . philflyboy! A tireless standings runner, he provides the dimes . . . I mean posts . . . to let us know how we are REALLY doing (in competition with other gurupies)
At Shooting Guard . . . Addicted! His song parodies always hit nothing but net and he is always there to take the crucial shot.
At Small Forward . . . Ender! Ender is always on the court, hustling for all the loose posts, inserting his good comments into the relevent threads and ignoring the others.
At Power Forward . . . Hillbilly Delight! A hard worker on the boards (pun intended) who helped us organize the injury information and posts it quickly and accurately.
At Center . . . allhair allstars! There would be no standings threads if AA didn't fill the paint with all his great Excel work.
And coaching the team, of course, . . . is the Guru! Assisted by all his great tools.
If I left out anyone, add them now.
And I like to suggest another thread for the mockery choices ;-) |

I'd like to nominate THK for the 6th man because he always comes on the boards out of control, blowing trades and still somehow pledges his allegiance to UNC Hoops. He'll give you a lot of spark off the bench and always will have faith that the team can comeback from any type of UNC-like deficit

Could be educational having to chase down all thos balls during warmups, especially the ones that wind up in the stands.

Mark L, the first and still greatest Art, Jr., for GM. Rumor has it that he is presently considering a package of Ender, allhair and two No. 1's for Felton Spencer. Stay tuned.

Coach has to be RecycledSpinalFluid. He also made plenty of the spreadsheets and lots of other nifty things (hipcheck) for us to use. Then he has to continue fixing and teaching us all how to use them.

Good to see my homie sticking up for me.
Ender and allhair on the same team is a pretty good one . . . wonder if allhair would still rip Ender's flesh going for rebounds, T-shirts or other sundry items?

jumpball, Thanks! I'm honored to make the team. :)
Mark L, As the aircraft carrier of the team I've been bulking up and working on my boxing out skills. Ender may have a little height on me but he's no match for me now!! I've also been working on my footwork. I have my four year old toss bundled up t-shirts to me three times a week. :)

ROFL at the coach's selection at ballboy . . . great choice!
from post #11, RSF has created lots of neat things too -- that makes him an ideal choice for assistant coach.

Nah, he'd stop trying for revenue at 85 million. No James K Polk either... he's a Royals fan.
I've been alerted that some of you might not get the joke, but BMD is our center because he is (allegedly) a 300 pound black man.

glad to see that europeans are welcome in the team;-(.....well, i will ask to be traded if the franchise doesn't believe in me......i'll become a restricted free agent at the end of the season, so if the team doesn't match the offers i'll receive i'll play for another team.....

i should call you in a legal controversy, because you've not reasons to put me out from the team. i just want to play, and it's clear that you're putting me out just because you don't want other teams to make me offers to match at the end of the season, so you will be able to keep me at a lower salary......
