No, the prices don't change in my limited experience, though I suppose you could key them to performance somehow.

In my experience, the prices and cap only matter on draft day. If you want you may enforce the cap throughout the season, but if you try and have fluid prices then I think it would be way too much work and not worth it. You open a whole different can of worms.

For example, if you tie it to performance, what happens if an owner is at the cap and one of his players' salary goes up due to high performance? Is he now over the cap?

Auction drafts at this time are only used to do pre-season drafts,I have the software ;). Once the auction is done and everyone has the required players you fill out your teams in Yahoo etc... Trades are allowed but FA drop/add MUST continue to go through the auction software.

You can have rules that FA during the season has to be bid on but you must have a 'honest' league agreeing to that rule. btw, Administration isnt that difficult in the end if you are using software to control the auction bidding.

ender---i was thinkin it would be like TSN, where the value of your team increases(only really usable once that player[one whos price has escalated] is traded or dropped. i guess a "soft cap"

penny---i would appreciate looking at the software to get a better understanding

J Silk, send me an email and I will set up an example for you.

The software has been used succesfully for Baseball drafts, there should be no difference really in adding basketball players.

True is the TSN Price of the player. Factor is the bid Price/True price gives you a sense of how much a player is going for.

Ie... Calvin Booth is going for 3.23 Times his salary.

you can set bid deadlines to very short periods of time. if you want but I doubt this is faster then a simple live draft.
