5.4 Antawn Jamison
obviously i needed antonio davis, but the mind reader beebop has striked again.
now, i've a pick in mind, and i'll pick just before him......let's hope nobody else has looked to what i saw a few minutes ago.....
anyway, jamison is now the franchise player, and he has to prove he deserves this title, rebounding from last years' to his previous numbers......c'mon antawn!!!

you can get more rebounds from a F than from a mediocre center has the ones remained....don't you think? until the 6th round i wont mind positions and just pick the best 3 G and best 3 F available......carter-jamison-webber seems cool, doesn't it? at least 24 rebound per night just from F, add at least 10 from 2 centers even if mediocre and i'll just have a gap in blocks, but a great advantage in points since my 3 F average more than 20 per game.

Problem is.. the difference between forwards is small right now. The difference between say, Theo Ratliff and Dampier or worse is HUGE. I dont know that id gamble on forwards. There are only a couple decent centers left - Theo & Elden Campbell come to mind.

      Fri, Aug 30, 2002, 22:39
i don't think that the difference between the remained centers is that huge. Maybe i'm wrong, but ratliff is a big risk and campbell will probably share pt with magloire, who is the franchise's future at C. Plus he will have an healty mashburn and an improved baron to steal him important points. jamison is a big bet, that will be ok even if he stays with this season's numbers, but who can pay big if he explodes.....
I'm just going to pick the best overall players until round 7, when i'll start filling the holes.

Well.

Lets say. The next three centers taken are Ratliff/Elden & Magloire. There are only about 3 of 4 even decent ones after that. Then alot of teams are going to be stuck with. Foyle/Foster/Willis combos. Forwards on the other hand, there are TONS of perhaps because:

SF/PF(2/team) > C(1/team) (more forward starters in the league than centers) (and even less productive ones)

I guess its possible for an elite forward to score enough for both possitions. But I think its doubful. I consider Spree/Houston/Miles/PJ. I could go on, but I wont (those are off the top of my head) to be near equals to say Jamison. Who now has a soon to be star in JRich and Dunlevy Jr. I could be wrong tho. Doleac however will never be on my team! :))

About Magloire, he subed for Campbell and PJ last year. I wouldnt expect Campbell to set any new records but I think he'll be the same. Which isnt horrible if you need BLK/REB and even more importantly if you have no C. Now watch me end up taking somthing besides a C. LOL :)

When was this? KMart doesnt even rank on anything but BLK -- and his team (Jukka) is packed with blockers. And there are 3-4 centers that average more than 5 RPG (w/o BO) [Vlade @8].

AND.. if you want to talk about players. Lets talk about Fortson who isnt even starting? Or maybe your FG%? No wait, lets consider the fact your whole team is BOS players and playing head 2 head you'll be dead on any weeks you have less than 4 games in BOS.

Oh, and Kandi averaged more than 8 REB/gm (and is a center!)

I hope KMart to improve his scoring close to 20 ppg, because of Van Horn-Mutombo trade. Kenyon has very good stats in blocks and steals. I needed a pf and in my opinion he was the best available.

BUT anyways, didnt notice that Jukka already had two centers. Not sure if id take KMart, but it's less of a risk when you have C filled. :)

HA memphis. Paul Pierce, better than anyone on your teams. Antoine Walker, Better than anyone on your team. Danny Fortson, Hes a pretty good rebounder, I dont need pts from him, I dont need blks, I dont need minutes, I need rebounds. Yahoo is nothing like TSN where theres really a big difference between 3 and 4 games in a week. And while we're on the subject of games, Mcdyess, played how many?////?. Pierce how many Walker how many.

Beetski:

Have you never played Yahoo head2head? You get a week to beat whoever your playing against. And then your are given either a WIN or a LOSS. If BOS has 2-3 games for the week -- you are at a distinct disadvantage.

Games? So? Whats your point? McDyess didnt play last year. Did you forget how many games Fortson missed when he broke his leg? Mcdyess is a former all-star somthing Fortson cant claim. And Fortson's rebounds are high because he started last year with a team that threw up more bricks than any two teams. And Fortson isn't even starting this year! I would take Baron over Walker anyday.. And since you wanna talk about teams Lafrentz?! His numbers are only decent because he played for DEN!

Are you saying that with the addition of aa young wanna be superstar, GS isnt gonna throw up alot of shots? ANd yahoo H2H, u dont get A win or loss. If u win pts, rebs, stls but lose everything else u get 3 wins and 6 losses. When u have schedule problems, YOU CAN PICK UP PLAYERS. u dont have to buy trades or any other crap, u just drop a player and pick one up. Baron davis has the worst ft% I;ve ever seen for any guard that leads their team. Antoine Walker has 3d potential just like Baron, except walker is so thugged out u cant guard him, u try puttin a webber on him he goes outside and hits the 3ball u try a "baron davis" he posts that motha up. Baron cant guard that, NO ONE CAN. Lafrentz did fine in DAl, THE TEAM SCORES 120 pts a nite

Uhm, Fortson isnt starting? What difference does it make how many shots are thrown up? Your still not understanding that reguardless of if you win 1 or 10 catagories your still judged weekly. I believe its Monday - Monday. So if BOS has 3 games, your in trouble! You are correct in picking up players.. but when you sub your two best players for two benchers your not going to win. The rest of your ramblings dont even warrant a responce. Baron is a star, if you dont see that somthings wrong. :)

I found a yahoo list, but it doesn't mean it's our list ..so please can someone put the word end on my doubts and tell me wher is the OFFICIAL list..this yahoo list or NBA Nba official site as I think it's more correct?
Ther are differences..for instance Jalen Rose is SF for Yahoo and a G for Nba

clach, this is really unfair and undelicate by you. we're living a drama here, and i don't think you should be happy to have that sh!tty man as president. you've to admit he's really a false unmoral, lier and imposer....and you know that my political ideas are of his side. i really hope you will not celebrate a similiar man, because today he passed the limit of the decent.
and i'm slowly opening my eyes on what he should be doing to the nation, if he's capable to do a similiar thing in soccer's market......it's sad, he can do whatever he wants, and nobody can stop him. we're a bananas' republic.

Lazio, I know this is a big drama for you, but everybody know your team had big money problems and needed to sell their big players.
I don't like what my president do in politics, but in this case he didn't do anything special. Everybody lies in football (as in Nba basket, etc.)

6.3 Glenn Robinson

I was surprised to see him left. A new team with Atl, and he will get the ball more. How was he still available?

HangTime is up... We are getting close to halfway mark of our draft...

MNG, I'm always willing to hear stories about the nightlife, especially if alcohol is included.
