The contest site is up and loaded with the 2012 brackets.

Let me know if you encounter any apparent glitches.

After submitting picks it says at the top that I have entered after the beginning of the tourney so my score will be tallied but won't count towards standings.

Wow, we almost ended up with a conference seed basket with the 4 seeds. It's like a Big 10 mini-basket with a Louisville helper.

Guru,

I requested email confirmation for all teams and didn't receive a single email.

Also a couple of months ago I requested my password for my Gurupie login and never rec'd it. So this may be related.

It's your email provider that's the problem. It looks like you are using a prodigy.net address, and (as stated on the registration page) Prodigy is one provider that blocks emails coming from the rotoguru server. So there's nothing you or I can do about it unless you use an email address that won't reject rotoguru server email.

I'm not aware of a hotmail problem - although it's possible. Have you checked your spam folder?

There are 321 entrants this year (up about 6% from last year.)

I've posted a sortable summary of the unit selections. Click on any linked column heading to sort by that column. A few quick observations
  • Favorite shorts are Syracuse, Big East, Georgetown, #4 seeds, and Duke.
  • Favorite longs are Kentucky and Missouri, followed by Ohio State, the SEC, and the Big 12.
  • Net longs (longs minus shorts) are dominated by Kentucky, followed by the SEC (not coincidentally, I’m sure.) Vanderbilt, Belmont, and NC State as also strong net longs.
  • Net shorts looks pretty much like the gross shorts.
  • Most active units (long or short) are Syracuse, Kentucky, Ohio State, Missouri, and the Big East.
  • Every unit got at least one long or short.

So Duke and Missouri are going to make the #2 bucket look really good right now if you shorted it.
