not for discussing deals, just for posting ANY deals that are finalized, and involve draft picks.

they are to be discussed, confirmed, etc etc, the discussion thread., not here.

myself (or someone else, as needed) will post the trade here, once it is confirmed.

all of the below listed draft choices are for the 2006 draft:

1. Toral trades Chris Carpenter and Toral's 10th round draft choice
FOR
nerveclinic's 1st round draft choice.

2. Tree trades Josh Beckett and his 12th round pick
for
PermDude's second round draft pick.

3. PV's 2nd round pick
for
Ryan Howard and MITH's 9th round pick

4. RFS trades Pujols, Loretta, Figgins, and 3rd rounder
FOR
Rolen, Sexon, Roberts, and Tree's 1st rounder

5. Baldwin trades Sanders and 4th rounder
for
RFS' 2nd rounder and Figgins

I don't thing you have my trades right, Tree. I'll have to do the homework tho. I know after the last time I tried to reconstruct the trades, that we did a horrible job of documenting them at the time in some cases. I remember my first trade with RFS was kind of a rip, didn't get as high of a pick as I wanted and then I got a first rounder the next trade which I felt was good enuff to be considered a make-up for the first one. I did my best to only make trades that only included draft upgrades because that was the only point of trading for me by that time.

please guys, can we delete the above posts, and move this to a discussion thread? we need to keep this as clean as possible to make it easier to track.

264 to 269 are VERY confusing.

in 264 and 265, we have an offer and acceptance of Baldwin trading Sanders and a 4th rounder
for
RFS' 2nd rounder and (a mystery player who i presumably thought was Figgins)

in 266 to 269 we have RFS trading Sanchez and his number 1 pick for Figgins.

so, it appears that it was incorrect in reading all of the above initially, and it appears to be sorted out (thanks Toral, for pinpointing that second deal..
-------------------------------

so, we have the following deals to add/alter:

5. Baldwin trades Sanders and 4th rounder
for
RFS' 2nd rounder and unknown player

6. Bili trades his 5th rounder for Toral's second rounder (presumably, some players were involved here too)

7. Deepsnap gets Toral's 4th rounder for Deepsnap's last rounder (a lot of players were involved in this one i believe)

8. RFS trades Sanchez and a 1st round pick to Baldwin for Figgins.

---------------------------
i'm going to build an excel grid detailing this stuff. how many rounds is our draft scheduled for? that would help me a lot in doing this grid.

21 roster spots - 7 keepers = 14 draft positions.

(we have some DL spots, but players must start in an active/bench spot--no drafting straight to the DL)

Baldwin - which trade do i have wrong? in comparing them, it appears the draft picks part, which is what is really crucial here, is correct.

it would be a LOT easier if you were to post the trades here, so we don't have to flip back and forth.

Great job tree. Very appreciated.

About the tie, I've been digging through old threads about tiebreaking schemes but haven't come up with anything yet. It was yacked about via email here and there, but I haven't yet found anything in the rules (or even proposed as a rule). We might have to have a new rule for 2007 and do a coin flip this year.

i say screw the coin flip, and let PV pick first, since that's how i set the grid up. ;o)

anyway, i'm thinking we oughta give people time to review, and then have a "speak now or forever hold your piece" type of moratorium, and when it's posted, that is how it stands.

and ultimately, i will start another thread, with less clutter, for trade announcements...

We had a tie a couple of years ago, but it occurred because I had picked up a prospect in error who got me a dinger the last day or two of the season, so I was moved down a slot. Damn Choi!

The current tie looks to be legit.

two TRADE announcements:

Tree trades Carl Crawford and Brandon Phillips
to
Bili for David Wright, Nick Markakis, and the rights to Carlos Gomez.

(i do not know what the rules are regarding currently having six prospects. my presumption is that in the off season regular rosters can go over limits, so prospect rosters can as well, as long we only keep 3 or less. if i'm wrong, let me know)

Tree trades Manny Ramire, Eric Byrnes, and his last round pick
to

Trader Tree is back at it. Nice trades for all.

I don't remember what we have done in the past when we've traded prospects, to be honest. I think your assumption that rosters can go over limits in the offseason sounds correct.

one of the reasons i like this league more than any other one i'm in is because it's an active trading league. i think almost anyone would be amenable to a deal.

heck, bili and i could have sat on our rosters and just re-played last year, but we started talking and both wanted to shake things up.

i've got plenty of players left...lol

Yeah I don't really think it makes a diff Tree, as long as you pick 3 when we whittle down, I can't see the advantage to holding 6 now other then seeing if one breaks a leg the next month.

I'm not sure it's ever come up before.

I knew I should have pushed you harder for Eric Byrnes...oh well.

ok, this is what i'm seeing:

1. AF owns SZ's 1st and 14th rounder.
2. MITH owns Tree's 5th, PD's 7th, Wiggs' 8th, and SZ's 13th rounders.
3. NC owns MITH's 8th rounder.
4. PD owns NC's 12th (via a trade with MITH), Tree's 10th, and Tree's last rounder (not sure what pick that is)
5. SZ owns AF's second and MITH's 7th rounders.
6. Tree owns PD's first, PD's second, and MITH's 4th rounders
7. Wiggs owns MITH's 5th rounder.

there does appear to be one "orphan" pick. When SZ traded his first rounder to AF, there doesn't appear to have been a pick traded in return.

actually, i think it's a typo on my part. looks like i typed PD regarding his first and my 10th, when i meant NC. i don't think i have PD's first rounder...

1. AF owns SZ's 1st and 14th rounder.
2. MITH owns Tree's 5th, PD's 7th, Wiggs' 8th, and SZ's 13th rounders.
3. NC owns Tree's 10th and MITH's 8th rounder.
4. PD owns NC's 12th (via a trade with MITH), and Tree's last rounder (not sure what pick that is)
5. SZ owns AF's second and MITH's 7th rounders.
6. Tree owns NC's first, PD's second, and MITH's 4th rounders
7. Wiggs owns MITH's 5th rounder.

there does appear to be one "orphan" pick. When SZ traded his first rounder to AF, there doesn't appear to have been a pick traded in return.

regarding the "orphan" pick. i could be mistaken, because lord knows that we have had about a zillion rule change proposals that tapered off, that we decided picks have to be even - you have to give up what you get, in terms of number of picks.

i think this was due to a trade i made actually. lol.

someone wanna help me out here, and let me know if AF's last round pick must go to SZ in regards to #1 in the previous post?
