Thanks to Zen for the email kick in the pants. It is time to start up the league again. We might need to replace one manager (maybe more) but let's get a headcount by posting here.

I'm jealous already.
If you want to hit Berlin I can point you in the direction of some truly decadent clubs.
If you are as close as Munich, Berlin is a must.

Don't want to highjack the thread..but....
I'll being staying with my sister who lives close to the border with France in western Germany south of Frankfurt. We're defintiely hitting Munich, Bern, Vienna and Prague and I'll prolly gut out a trip to Paris for the girls. London is actually a faster trip than Berlin so I'm not sure we're going north.
My sister and brother-in-law will be touring us around some but any must sees that aren't obvious would be of much interest.

My recommendation, it ain't worth much, is focus.
Two weeks will go by fast. Stick with what your hosts know, you'll probably enjoy it better than trying to see everything and ending up seeing just a blur.

What I meant to say is, get your priorities straight. Cancel the trip and draft. ;)
Barring that, find an internet cafe and camp out there.

...would like to see the rules & league "set up" (positions, scoring categories, # of keepers, draft set up...etc) to get an idea of league operation before draft planning.
I'm also clueless on who the commish is. I don't have access to my (Toral's) roster (nor anyone else's) and that would be a large help.
Happy (belated) NEW YEAR to all.

I'm in.
However, the kids and I(and whoever else can fit) are exploring taking an entire month this summer on an extended mostly camping trip to the Tetons, Yellowstone, Glacier Nat'l Park, the Canadian Rockies, the Idaho panhandle and home. There will be extended periods with no internet access, but once a week we'll likely grab a motel where I can plug in. So, if you see an injured player in my starting lineup for a week or so, I'm not dogging it, I'm just looking for an internet cafe in Cranbrook, BC.

Wow that's a tough one...seriously.
I think you should start by doing a search of political baseball and read the various threads. There isn't a "rules book" per say and it gets complicated.
Start looking at the threads and ask questions and we will all jump in and help.
Maybe we even need a Political baseball newbie members rules thread where we can start to spell it all out for you.
With the minor league bench it's a bit complicated.
We have plenty of time and we are all happy to help.

someplace to start:
OFFICIAL RULES* – Rotoguru Politics Forum Baseball League
1. Regular Rosters. a) Only players in Yahoo! Are eligible to be drafted for and/or played on your Yahoo! Rosters. b) Each roster will have 21 players. c) Up to 7 of the players from the previous year’s roster (including the DL) can be reserved for next year’s team. d) The draft will be in reverse order of the previous year’s finish.
2. Prospect Rosters. a) Any player with fewer than 300 AB or 125 IP in official regular season major league games is a “prospect”. b) Each year you can keep up to 3 “prospects” from the previous year’s prospect roster for next year’s prospect roster. c) On or around May 1 of each season, a “prospect draft” will be held. Any prospect that is not otherwise reserved is eligible to be drafted. d) This draft will consist of up to 5 rounds to ensure that every team has the opportunity to fill all 5 prospect roster slots. e) While a player maintains his “prospect status” as defined in part (a), any player on a “Prospect Roster” is reserved for the so-designated team. After the said player achieves those career totals, the owner will have 7 days (until 12:00 AM PT of the 8th day following the change from “prospect” status) to transfer the player to his active team, or all rights to the player will be forfeit. f) The draft order of the Prospect draft will be held in the opposite direction of the Active Draft. I.e., the team with the 14th pick in the Active Draft will draft first in the Prospect draft. g) If a team has prospects on their prospect draft roster when the draft begins, they will forfeit the same numbers of picks as players on their roster. Thus, a team with 2 players already on their prospect roster would only pick in the first three rounds of the draft. h) If a manager fails to pick within 24 hours, the draft will continue. During the remainder of the draft, the manager can retroactively make his selection. i) Each owner is responsible for verifying that any active-roster free-agent acquisition is NOT on a team’s prospect list. Failure to do so may result in applicable penalties to be decided by the commissioner. j) Prior Rule. Until the Prospect Draft is concluded, no prospect that was ineligible for the regular draft can be acquired by any team. k) Any player on a prospect roster that is added to an official Yahoo! regular roster is automatically removed from the team’s prospect list.
3. General Rules
a) For all rules and regulations regarding proper conduct and scoring of Active Roster players, see Yahoo! rules, and the league settings. b) If there is any issue that arises that is not covered by the above rules, the commissioner has the right to take fair and appropriate action to resolve the situation. c) Any team owner can propose an amendment to these rules. After a proposal is made, there will be a 24 hour discussion period followed by a vote. i. If a proposal to change a rule receives 10 votes, it passes. If there are 5 votes against, it fails. ii. If a proposal to clarify or add a rule receives 8 votes, it passes; 7 votes against and it fails.
* Rules as of 3/24/05

No sweat, Tax.
A couple of provisos:
Those rules were in dispute, but the person who disputed them didn't make it clear (at least to me) why, and he is sadly no longer with us.
The rules have changed since they were written 3 years ago. Every year we vote on new rules, I seem to recall a couple of them passing, though I don't remember which ones off the top of my head.
Here's last year's thread.
Here's one from 2005
... and 2006.
Anyone with a bit of time and an organized mind want to take a stab at an update?

Bili ... the reference to 2005 thread is to Poli Football Rules ...best I could tell ..no rule changes were passed in 2006 or 2007. Just cussed and discussed.
Any league member: that knows...could you fill in the following blanks please. What isn't in rules (meat and potatoes stuff)is:
1) H2H or Roto
2) game day positions
3) scoring categories, and
4)limits on innings pitched/games played
Lastly...who are my Prospects? For that matter, could I see everyone's current prospects? Sorry for being a pain...but not having access to last year's Yahoo league limits my draft prep ability.

If anyone has traded prospects they will need to fill in the blanks.
I have Clay Bucholz (?) on my bench.
Innings pitched is the limit of innings all your pitcher combined can throw it's either 1200 or 1250 I will have to check league from last year.
We are a roto league not head 2 head.
scoring categories are typical 5x5 roto.
game day positions are who you have in each position slot each day.

I've been a bit lost in the Poli BB discussions.
Well, nothing much of note has happened yet. We are going to decide on a new manager, which will be done offsite via personal e-mail.
One of our league's more interesting features is our rules making process. We have a bunch of rules and just like American jurisprudence, some of it is codified into rules, the rest is case law ("that's how we've always done it...") We propose new rules or changes to current rules on the boards. There is argument and politicking back and forth. Votes are casts and tallied, well, except for last year where we did not get everyone to cast a vote.
I used to tally the votes, but I got tired of snide comments from certain former managers, so I do not do so anymore. No one picked up the ball and I think that's the main reason we didn't get everyone to vote last year. It's not to late to revive those questions from last year. And from the sounds of our early discussion, there may be another proposal to change the prospect rules.

I used to tally the votes, but I got tired of snide comments from certain former managers, so I do not do so anymore. No one picked up the ball and I think that's the main reason we didn't get everyone to vote last year.
Well it may be true you tallied votes in the past but how many times over and over did we implore certain people to vote last year and they just apparently couldn't be bothered.
It's not like we didn't try to get people to vote, it's all back there in last years thread.
It's not to late to revive those questions from last year. And from the sounds of our early discussion, there may be another proposal to change the prospect rules.
Yeah but now another year has passed so these new rules would aply to next year.

Why do we get mad about non-voters? Just count them as undecided and voting present but abstaining.

Maybe a semantic arguement..but never-the-less..nope.
My recollection of Roberts Rules of Order, as well as the US Congress/Senate rules..an abstention is never a "no" vote. For anything to pass, a pre-decided % of "yes" votes are required for an action to be authorized.
I could handle as an observation only, that a "no" vote often, hell even usually, has the same impact as a "no" vote, because it will never be counted in the "yes" column. But it is never "basically" the same as a "no".
Easy to example the premise. Senate has a 100 voters. To pass a motion requires a majority with VP breaking a tie vote. Anotherwords, if 50 Publicrats vote yes for a motion, and 44 Washicans vote no, the motion fails w/o the VP needing to cast a vote. If the 16 abstaining (non) voters all vote "No", then the VP casts the deciding vote.
Thus the abstention is not like the "No", as it shows in neither column...but I agree, the abstention looks/feels and often has the same result as a "no".
A solution: (as extreme as Bill Mahers' New Rules) To be able to draft..each year, manager must vote on all pending proposed rules. No vote..you time out in the draft..hurting your team.
Another extreme solution: When a vote is required, your roster is frozen until you vote. (happened to me in Poli football..but for a different reason and roster freeze does get your attention, not to mention pissing you off)
Either (or both) provide each manager motivation to participate in rule process or get out of the league.

hence, the word "basically".
in this league, because you need a certain number of "yes" votes to pass something, someone not voting is not voting yes, and thusly, in essence, are voting no.
you're right. it's semantical, mostly. but the fact remains that anything that is not a vote for, ends up as a default vote against.

A non vote is the same as a no since a majority is needed to change a rule.
The fact it's a "non" vote makes it appear that the league member simply can't be bothered to examine the issue and make an informed choice on the direction of the league.

btw - i'm going to bring up the possibility of us being a "plus" league again.
i don't know how many pay for the stattracker feature. i know i do, and i suspect others do as well.
that's 9.99. if all of us - or most of us - do that, that's 140 bucks total.
the plus league costs 125 bucks. so we'd all save a couple of bucks, and get a few more features.
just a thought...
of course, i realize that getting everyone to actually vote on this, or even put input, is a stretch, but hey, i'm an optimist.

MBJ...how short our memories are.
To quote Mick Jagger (if you know the song) "Let me introduce myself"
I joined the Poli Football league last fall taking over PD's team and I participated in that draft...and when Fred fixed the bug the draft ran smoothly..as have the other 25 kafenatid drafts I have enjoyed. Fred stays close to the computer during each season's draft and problems..if any..never last for long.
Do not let one problem distract from the advantage and benefits provided by not being able to draft a player already drafted... and the draft clock as well as the queue function have brought an unparallelled speed factor for those leagues that encourage the use of it. Not to mention the running Draft Grid to see where you are..and where you aren't...the olayer list to see who is/isn't drafted..too many features to attempt a recap.

Hate to be the voice of change...but we crossed Y 2000 over 7 years ago. Not changing to an effective time saving draft sytem only because it represents change is wholly unacceptable.
Manual drafts are for people with more fantasy sports time than I (am allowed) and enough time to keep their own records in a form quite similar to that provided by kafenatid, or risk drafting a non-competitive squad.
I am unsure that I will have adequate time to keep up with a manual draft. If the league is going with a manual draft...then I need to decide quickly whether or not the Poli Baseball league needs to replace me and inform you of such.

i really agree with Taxman here. the resistance to switching over to kafenatid has been bizarre to me.
so there was one glitch we had. i've done 20-some odd drafts there, and haven't had a serious problem.
it's got an automated queue system, it emails you when you're up at both a primary and secondary email address, and many phone with wireless access can log on and draft from their phone.
i think it's high time we revisit this, and give it a shot.

Please of course it's not "only because it represents change", give me a break. That's really disingenuous to those who have expressed compelling reasons it could create problems in the past.
i really agree with Taxman here. the resistance to switching over to kafenatid has been bizarre to me.
What's bizarre is that you won't recall the problems/concerns.
Take me for example, I live in the middle east. When you are awake I am asleep.
So if we use kafi with say a 6 hour window I could get screwed if I am asleep when my clock starts.
Now what kind of a nightmare would we have if a league member, who otherwise drafts exceptionally conscientiously, (I think my past will show this) gets screwed because of a mechanical device.
It doesn't have to be just me, someone with a full day of meetings at work could suddenly get caught by the clock.
We can still have a clock, but at least I can write...I am going to bed now...and a machine won't flip the draft over to the next pick.
If someone knows they will be busy at work they can let the league know, they can't stop a machine.
What if I leave a cue with member X before I go to bed and member X doesn't pick when my turn is up...the mechanical clock flips right?
If you can guarantee and explain why nothing like this is a concern I am all ears but no one has been able to convince us of this in the past.
I would want a guarantee that if something like this happened, all the picks that came after would be void and the person losing their turn gets whoever they want, picked or not.
The thing has a clock right? How do we avoid the problem of the clock arbitrarily screwing a contentious drafters turn and creating a lot of bad blood and ill will.
THAT is the resistance to change. Why is this bizarre?

this is a concern of ANY draft with a clock. but the reality of someone getting skipped like this is VERY slim. i mean, are you really going to go to bed, seeing that you are one or two picks away, and not take any action to do that..whether it be waiting up an extra 15 minutes or maybe leaving a queue, which takes us to...
What if I leave a cue with member X before I go to bed and member X doesn't pick when my turn is up...the mechanical clock flips right?
the queue system for kafenatid is fairly intelligent. maybe if i explain how it works, it'll put some minds at ease.
1. you leave your queue through the kafenatid system. it is a pull down menu of every undrafted player in the game. your queue can be one player long, or it can be 100, or any number in between or beyond.
2. you set your designated picker (DP). you can pick one owner to be DP, five owners, or everyone in the league. you can designate anyone in the league as your DP. the more people that have the ability to pick for you, the less your chance of that person not being around are.
3. when you leave your queue on "available" (you do have to remember to do that, which, is no different than say posting or emailing a queue), you can choose to have just the first player you list shown, or every player shown. this second option comes in handy if you want to base your queue pick on what happens in the few picks before yours, and you post on the rotoguru board something like "if there were no starting pitchers taken in the 5 picks before mine, please ignore my first choice and instead go with the top ranked shortstop i have"...
3. you can make what's called "free form" availabe, that means, instead of a queue with a list of players, you could email that queue to a few people you are certain will be around, and say "i want the top shortstop still on this list", and they could input that person's name.
4. it also prevents double picking. if you try and pick a player who has already been drafted, it throws up a big STOP sign, and asks if you really want to draft this already drafted player..
it is an excellent queue system, and quote honestly, an upgrade over the "phone, email, and hope he gets the message" sort of system we've been using...
NC - i *think* i've addressed your concerns in trying to explain the queue system. if i haven't done so, please let me know what your other concerns are.

Not meaning to intrude on tree's excellent description of kafenatid features...but the commish has the power to turn the clock on/off
Bottom line..always best to have a queue and designated pickers on alert to help avert any potential time problem.
and yes .. NC I would want a guarantee that if something like this happened, all the picks that came after would be void and the person losing their turn gets whoever they want, picked or not. I would be in favor of rectifying any wrong that occurs in any draft, kafenatid or otherwise. I know of no manager that would say otherwise. Dave Hall requires all RIBC drafts to be run on kafenatid, which should provide adequate verification.
NC everyone else probably knows the story, but my recollection put you on the west coast at one time. Why are you now in the middle east? If a private subject, my e-mail above..or if you wish, simply tell me it's none of my business.

Hate to be the voice of change...but we crossed Y 2000 over 7 years ago. Not changing to an effective time saving draft sytem only because it represents change is wholly unacceptable.
Wholly unacceptable? You don't have to accept it.
The Poli baseball draft is always the most efficient, most stress-free and most fun baseball draft I'm involved in. We've tried Kafe several times, and, tree's selective memory notwithstanding, it doesn't work for our particular league and group of managers. It's reduces our enjoyment of the process and adds nothing.
I am unsure that I will have adequate time to keep up with a manual draft. If the league is going with a manual draft...then I need to decide quickly whether or not the Poli Baseball league needs to replace me and inform you of such.
That would be unfortunate; but, perhaps, this is true.

Taxman
Let me say that I think I speak for everyone when I say that we appreciate you being in the league and really want you to stay.
Personally, I vote against Kafinated out of deference to friends who are diametrically opposed to it. I see its usefulness, but have also seen it screw up.
Now that Tree and yourself have made your pitch for K, what, may I ask, is so horrible with drafting on the Boards? We've been doing it for years, it goes really smoothly, and just as quickly as if we used K. There are plenty of managers who do not have continuous access to the internet, but they move things along with Queues sent to other managers.
I am unsure that I will have adequate time to keep up with a manual draft.
If we were to use K, its main appeal is its queue system, but there are managers here who will not make queues with K. I am certain that if we voted to use K, there would not be enough support to impose a clock, so we would be just as stuck when someone is away using K as we will be on the boards. I honestly don't think that using K is any quicker. What feature on K is most appealing to you? The queue system? Are you uncomfortable sending a queue to a fellow manager? The draft grid? If it is that, is that really reason enough to leave the league?
I want you to stay, I really do, I think we all do. I don't think there is enough support to switch to K, so I want to probe your reluctance to a board draft so we can try to solve your concerns.

What feature on K is most appealing to you?
foremost the player list, followed by the grid, followed by the queue
The player list incorporates the feature of listing all players in the yahoo data base..and after a player is drafted, a line is drawn through that players name in a manner that the name is ledgible, but not available. The obvious advantage is an available up-to-date resource reflecting who is and who isn't available (has aleadt been drafted).
The grid allows you to keep up with the number of players selected at a position to enable a manager to not be left in the cold when a run on a particular position occurs.
Yes, I like the queue function..and..I actually think the queue function serves several purposes..not only when turned on to allow your designated picker to keep the draft moving..but when turned off..to serve as a internet note pad to list potential picks for later rounds (viable because a player listed in your queue when drafted is deleted from your queue).
If this league does not want to run a clock...kafenatid allows you to draft w/o a clock. If there is no clock used in kafenatid, what is the objection to having it perform the house heeping functions that I think are critical to having a successful draft??

I am in favor of using Kafenatid with the caveat that we have a thread logging the ongoing results here as well. That was always the thing holding me back as I felt we were losing some rotoguru flavor not holding it here and we also lack a lasting record here.
Just too many advantages with it to let that stop us I feel.

The mechanical clock has always been my main concern. I think there are others that enjoy the week long discussions that go on during the draft.
My main concern is people getting skipped by a machine when they have been good drafters.

The clock can be turned on and off and adjusted to difference lengths, and designated pickers can also be used. The clock need not be used at all, in fact, if we're moving along at a good clip.
I don't think we have a habit of skipping people in the draft, so there might be no need to even use a clock.

kafenatid saves all your old drafts. in leagues i have been in for years, i enjoy going back 3, 4, whatever years to see how late a player going early now went back then.
the records there, are to me, more long lasting there than they are here...

This is a very agreeable solution, but only if the entire league sees it as such. It is near impossible to make all the people happy all the time, however.. kafenatid can be used w/o the clock (a clock is never required of managers not wishing to inconvenience their friends anyway)AND we should continue posting draft results and related discussions here. The kafenatid draft can sterelize (dehumanize) the drafting process if not attached to a thread. The running commentary adds much depth (shared learning) in our league and our internet community. That is done in the RIBC and several other Gurupian drafts. BTW..Tree makes an excellent comment about prior drafts stored on kafenatid..(I think I drafted Mendoza long before internet days)
With this frank open discussion, I now feel like a complete ass for even considering not being a part of this league. I am humbled, and far smarter than yesterday....but still discovering daily how dumb I can be. It's an aging thing..kinda like how your parents get smarter and more relevant the older you and your children become.
I am in, no matter how the league chooses to draft. If it is not with kafenatid, I will find another way to deal with my ADD problems(inability to get, much less keep, organized).

UM don't we need to get going?
We should be picking keepers in the next week or so and preparing to start the draft. The first games this year are March 25th.
As Tree said are we short an owner? If so we need to fill that right away because he/she will need time to prepare and learn rules.
Is it time to get a sense of urgency?

Am working on a keeper thread right now. I'm thinking about March 3rd for the deadline (regular and prospect keepers).
Like last year, we'll try for a prospect draft immediately after the regular draft.
Looks like we will not be doing OTC, but I'm looking into the possibility of having a concurrent "draft" on OTC for those who want to, in order for them to enjoy the benefits of OTC (queues, player list, etc). The draft will be on the boards but OTC would be used as a draft tool for those who want to use it. I will pay the fee for the OTC draft--opt in or out, just do so before the start of the draft.
Last year the draft started 3/12. We can probably start it a bit earlier--maybe Monday 3/10. Without any objections let's stick with that.
Tree, can you do one of those cool draft charts for us again?

I don't think it's a problem, but we usually name our prospect keepers after the regular draft. That way if we want to promote/draft any prospects, it does not effect our pool of players.
I suppose when we name prospects we can just say at that time and "I will be making player X one of my draft picks".

why aren't we doing OTC?
another great thing about OTC is that those little draft grids are automatic and you can call it up anytime you want, updated with each pick.
i really, really, really think we should do OTC, with concurrent commentary here in this forum.
i'm in 3 other drafts on OTC right now, and the discussion threads for them on the rotoguru boards are quite lengthy, one of which is currently 175+ posts strong.

why aren't we doing OTC?
Because you will never get the votes for it. I think Perm's offer of running a concurrent draft on OTC is an extremely generous offer and a great compromise. Rather than mock surprise, Tree, you should be happy with Perm agreeing to all that extra work.
I agree that the final owner needs to be made known and that there are further trades to be made, that said, I imagine that a Monday 3/10 start of the draft is a good suggestion. And we aren't going to "try" to get the Prospect Draft done right after the Regular Draft, we ARE going to shift immediately into the Prospect Draft.
The Keeper announcement deadline needs to be decided and I am all for making it as late as possible, like March 7th. I would hate for someone's keeper to get hurt in Spring Training. Having the weekend to make your first round draft pick plans is plenty of time.

I'll do my best to put Rockafellerskank's old franchise on a path back toward respectability.
I've got a lot of work to do to get to 7 keeper-level players, if that's even possible.
All of my draft picks and players are available, including Brandon Webb and Francisco Liriano.
I imagine I'm one of the few managers who is willing to part with draft picks and accept 2 for 1 deals, so lay your proposals on me.
I only have a handful of assets to try to turn into 7 keepers so I'll disclose now that I fully intend to play your offers against one another.

I'm really looking foward to see how my preseasoon trades work out over the season.
Here's the likely keeper set of the team I inherited (before any trades) - primary keepers first: Brandon Webb Francisco Liriano Daisuke Matsuzaka Placido Polanco Frank Thomas Hideki Matsui Michael Cuddyer
Prospects: Kyle Davies Yusmeiro Petit Hayden Penn
In net terms, I've traded away the following assets:
My 5th round pick (#57) My 7th round pick (85) My 8th round pick (#99) Brandon Webb Daisuke Matsuzaka
And here's what I got in return:
PD's 7th round pick (#86) Wiggs' 8th round pick (#107) Zen's 13th round pick (#181) Corey Hart. OF. MIL. Chris Young. SP. SD. Adrian Gonzalez. 1B. SD. Chris Young. OF. AZ. Pedro Martinez. SP. NYM. Kevin Kouzmanoff. 3B. SD. Joey Votto. 1B. CIN
We'll see if it was worth it for me to hang on to my top 4 picks in lieu of a couple of higher ranked keepers.

personally, i think you did a whale of a job.
your new top 4 keepers are worlds above your original - in part, because i feel like that team legit had 2 keepers in Webb and Dice-K. Liriano is a nice young player, but such a wild card.
you lost all 3 of those, but ended up four certain under-30 keepers, 2 potential long-terms in the corners, and an agin pitcher that might surprise.
you ended up moving down in the 7th and 8th rounds, and swapping a 5th for a 13th. a big switch, but overall, i think you've angled your team into one that has some solid building blocks.
good luck!

Thanks, tree. Actually, I'm keeping Liriano. In fact he's the only player I inherited that will be kept. Very high risk/high reward player but for a team like this I like the gamble. He probably has the best chance of anyone on my roster of being a top 25 player by this time next year. Report last week out of Twins camp was that the velocity is there so so far so good.

I'm trying to make one last deal with one of my players that would be a keeper for some teams.
It's 10PM here and I have a full slate tomorrow including a Visa run that will put me out of contact before the keepers deadline so I am trying to wrap up tonight. (Today your time..actually the next 2 hours)
I would give Hawpe or Felix Hernandez for a first round pick.

That's not how we do Prospects. Everyone gets to keep three prospects. If you choose to move one to three of them onto your regular roster, forfeiting your last one to three draft picks, you may add additional prospects in the prospect draft, you don't get to keep 5 prospects.
So, it sounds like you would like to keep Brandon Wood, Jacoby Ellsbury and one other. Who is your third prospect?

Mith..your post 160 the known pro-OTC feelings of our new owners
In case I'm included in there I'll note that my vote would be against OTC for this league. Too many long-time league members are too strongly against it.
Mith..2 responses: 1) Several of the long-time members (Baldwin and Nerve..posts 119 and 120) expressed concerns and appeared mollified by proferred solutions. 2008 will have the draft here as in past years with a simultaneous parallell draft (w/o clock and for reports only) on OTC. Some feasibility problems posed since each manager will have to sign up for OTC draft for Fred to enter the picks.
2) IMHO, the whole point of voting is to vote your voice, not that of anothers. Were you to favor OTC you would join a majority of Tree, PD, Baldwin, Nerveclinic, me and Seattle Zen (assumption by me) is like you, in favor of OTC, but not willing to buck anti-OTC feelings from some??all?? of the other 5 managers.
Congrats on the quick roster makeover.

Tax I'm familiar with which managers are for and which are against OTC.
I know this group of people very well and my voice is that this league runs more smoothly when managers are content. That issue is of greater concern to me than whether or not we draft on OTC.

Re: The Kafe thing
I think it should be put to a vote and everyone should vote their own preference, not influenced by the scurge of bili and me cracking wise when it, again, screws up our draft. (I'll likely be drafting a good part of this draft off line anyway; please don't let me be a hindrance to Kafe delight)
Looking at Zens's keepers, if I didn't know better, I'd swear he's got an unbeatable start to the league this year; however, with the experience of many years in this league with him, I can rest easy knowing that surely as the sun will roll over the mountaintop, disaster will befall at least 4 of his 7 keepers again spoling his shot at a title.
Also, could a moderator check for a glitch in the keepers thread; it looks like someone accidently put Adam Wainwright down as a keeper.

I'm confused as to why can't use both this forum and Kafenatid as Taxman indicates in #194, and Baldwin suggested initially.
Doesn't that solve the problem?
If we're voting one way or another, I vote OTC, but I'm not adamant that way.

i'm really not worried about the first three, but i have some concerns about CC. i'm sure he's busy, so this isn't a personal attack, but he's barely been present in our threads, and i know that at least one owner aside from myself has had difficult in communicating with him for trades in recent weeks.

based on Post 68 in this thread, your predecessor swapped your 4th round pick to me. as part of the deal, you got my 5th rounder.
i'm going through now and sorting through all deals involving draft picks, and hopefully there won't be any issues of the same pick being traded.

What's the problem, Baldwin? Do you need help with your spelling? His name is spelled Toe Knee Arm Ass, junior :)
In years past, Baldy would bellyache about how hamstrung he felt by ONLY being able to keep seven players, oh, whoa is me... I'm confident that this year he won't be making the same complaint.
You know, Baldwin, you don't have to keep seven, there is no rule against keeping only five and picking two guys at the end of the draft to fill out your roster.

Joakim Soria [since he did not go over IP how did I lose rights to him? I used him myself and dropped him? My year was so bad I wasn't wasting good prospects by picking them up or so was my conscious strategy. If I did anyway fuhgedaboudit but I want a ruling]

Checking with one last manager if they want to be in OTC. Once they verify one way or the other I'll fire that up.

This slow down by Baldy is going to hurt my chances of picking today.
It's already 8:15PM here and since I don't have a 1st round pick I'm a good 15-18 picks away.
If things don't start moving I will not be able to leave a list with anyone because the list will be too long.
If I don't get my pick in tonight it will be about 12AM ECT before I make a pick. Just so everyone knows where I stand.

It just rings through to Ann Coulter.
BTW, we have all 14 in at OTC. Give me a few to grab a bite and set it up.

Wahoo! Draft-ting!
Am I up! Am I up!!
Oh. Who stole my first round pick!
Just to let everyone know, my home computer is locked in a shed and my house is full of wet gypsum. Hopefully that won't be a hold-up, just want to know what Baldwin's excuse is.
