well, based on how you tend to over-value fantasy players, i think you're probably expecting a higher draft pick than you'd get.

Does it bother anyone that we have 10 teams signed up for a 12 team league???:
Skeepers
PanchoCharger
wiggs
Building 7
Sive Oultaghs Whites
Boldwin's Berserkers
Vampirez
Guitars & Tiki Bar
Tax Rules
West Bili CityCats

We need two more managers and a Commish. I did the waivers last year so I claim a pass. Who will step up to be Commish...and who are the other two managers to be?

if no one wants to commish, this league may end up folding.. :o/

I would volunteer to commish, but I'm very tech illiterate. Possibly a co-commish with someone who is more tech savvy would work.

I'm leaving today for a week of camping on the beach of the Central California coast, so I'll be incommunicado til next week.

In the meantime, we need to find a replacement for PD. Some suggestions:

C1-NRB
RFS
Coldwater Coyotes
DWetzel
Texas Flood
Razor
Holt
Astade
Great One
Toral

I'm not playing FF this year, but if you don't mind my brief 2 cents, I think you're sabatoging your recruitment efforts by announcing completed trades before you have complete league. If I were looking for a keeper league to join this year, any offseason trades completed while a team is vacant would make me pass right over this one.

Ah MITH. Don't sweat it. I care.

I think, given our minimal level of trading, it's only a minor concern however.

And it's not as if PD couldn't have made some trades before giving up his team, though that might be even more highly suspect!

He abandoned a kick-butt league and caused it to crash. A league with a nationally known expert in it. You would all recognize his column handle immediately.

Dang that hurt, MITH.

Not that MITH's comment wasn't well intended. Kinda late to be getting that picky and we've never had any trouble finding managers. Just let in the conservatives. Right there you got a couple more.

shut up. really. no one has ever been denied admittance to this league because of politics. because they were an obnoxious dick, yes. but never because of politics.

i'm not going to do the research again, but i have previously pointed who was invited into the league, and denied.

speaking of which, PV, we need to add one more person to the list, that being Weykool.

i think we should move this to email, and discuss...

Yeesh, B7.

Yeah B I still feel bad about having to step down from that league but taking a step back from fantasy sports was and remains a necessity for now. And I think its a bit unfair to say I caused it to crash. There were 12 other managers who could have taken over and none cared to do so. I worked pretty hard at keeping accurate and extensive records and filling vacancies with quality managers, but all in all I was more often disappointed in it than not. Some of the more tenured managers weren't often competetive and the league was always a bit quiet, lacking for more Seattle Zen/Blue Hen-type trash talkers.

Baldwin has chosen to abstain from voting.

owners who have still not voted are:
Clyde
PV

B7

I am hoping they'll get their votes in by the end of the week, and I am also hoping Baldwin chooses to participate, because I would like every owner to be involved.

remember - please respond to the email i sent, with your top TWO choices, or send an email to the above address, and PLEASE put "New owner discussion for polifootball" in the subject line so i can keep track of everything.

two simple things were asked for:
1. the votes EMAILED to me
2. as per Bili's idea, a vote for your first and second choice.

if I'm the only one here dumb enough to be commish, then there are going to be some rules that need to be followed to make it easier for me.

those ones are simple enough, and no one gets any special treatment.

I can do the waivers this year if nobody wants to. That's probably more work than Commissioner......... in this league.

Kurt Warner
Houshmandzada

Looks like I have to cut these two. They are both ranked in the top 56, so theoretically they should be better than somebody's keepers. Most interested in draft choice upgrades.

Gibril Wilson
Hobbs
T.McGee

Also have to cut these top DB"s. Make an offer if you're interested.

Welcome to Coach Astade.

I can do the waivers this year if nobody wants to. That's probably more work than Commissioner......... in this league.

hallelujah!

looks like it's not needed this season!

Use these settings to give everyone in the league a fair chance at picking up players. Sunday - Tuesday means all unowned players will be placed on waivers at 10:00am PT each Sunday with the claim period ending at 11:59pm PT on Tuesday. First game of the week - Tuesday means all unowned players will be placed on waivers at the start of the first game for that week with the claim period ending at 11:59pm PT on Tuesday.

as full disclosure, there are two options. one is sunday to tuesday, the other is from the first game of the week to tuesday. I am setting it for the former. to me that's a no brainer.

we do have three options on how waivers progress - these are them:
* Continual rolling list: waiver claims are processed in waiver priority order and each successful claim moves a manager to the end of the waiver priority list
* Reverse order of standings: waiver claims are processed in reverse order of standings and successful claims do not affect waiver priority list
* Weekly rolling list based on standings: waiver claims are processed in reverse order of standings and each successful claim moves a manager to the end of the waiver priority list

seems to me we've always done the third option, but i wanted to get some sort of consensus from the league on this.

I hate the idea of divisions as it's just one more avenue for a superior team to lose and an inferior team to sneak ahead. In this case, happen to be in the thinner division.

Football is too flukey as it is.

But I will not make a federal case out of it. Try it once if you must.

If anyone wants to help me diversify out of my stable of running backs, I am receptive.

Also:

RB - I have Ray Rice, the #1 with the most talent in Baltimore's crowded stable (if you don't want him, I might have to change my mind),

WR - Lee Evans and Braylon Edwards, two WRs with the talent to be top 5, and last but not least

All World- Leodis Mc-Lovin. No need to say more. Obviously better than any DB you so foolishly are considering keeping. Don't embarrass yourselves. Throw me 3rd rounder and hold your head up with pride with him playing corner for you.

Draft picks or a 2-1 upgrade considered for any and all of my players, even those tentatively listed as keepers.

i guess that requires a quick discussion.

Yahoo has never had LBs before.

so, what do we do.

we have used 3 DLs in the past to compensate for that.

do we go to 1 DL, 2 LB.

or add a slot, for 2 DL, 2 LB.

B7 - what im saying is that there is no flex option for DL/LB in Yahoo. it just doesn't exist.

you can have a complete flex option, but i'm against that because people will basically stock up on LBs.

this is the first year Yahoo has even had an LB position at all - in the past, LBs were considered DLs by Yahoo.

so, i'm proposing 1 DL/2 LB/2 DB.

thoughts?

I can't even get LBs to show up in the player list. They must have screwed something up. You can't play without LBs!

Ah. I see. They restricted the DL = DE and DT only. I can't see the LBs because we don't play them currently.

My preference would be DB, DB, DE, LB, D

I see what you're talking about, tree. That messes things up for our league. I suspect most of the DL's on rosters from last year were really LB's.

Some other options are:

DB, DB,D,D,D
DB,DB,LB,LB,D

and tree's

DB,DB,LB,LB,DL

and bili's

DB, DB, LB,DE, D

I'd be fine with any of those. I think you are right about the LBs, B7.

I recommend Tree make an executive decision. Right quick, too, so it doesn't mess with keeper decisions.

if there are not strong dissensions to that, that is probably where i am going to go.

i'm back from modeling, and i'm gonna go with the 2 DB, 2 LB, 1 DL format. i firmly believe that if we had gone with the flex D position bili mentioned, it would have been a LB for every team anyway.

something else Yahoo has new this year.

IR slots. My guess it's a response to those keeper leaguers who got Brady'd last year.

i have set it at 2 IR slots, but i think it probably oughta be 1.

any thoughts on this??

Prolly.

The sack-masters just got a minor bump in value due to scarcity, but probably not much significant impact.

Marques Colston ADP 19.09

Either one for the low low price of a swap of first round picks.

6'4 225

Drew Brees throwing to him in a pass happy offense.

Only 2240 yds and 19 TD's in his first two seasons.

But I understand. You got better uses for a second round pick [6th round really].

you're not asking the right question Baldwin.

because you're not asking to swap Colston for Benson.

you're asking to swap Colston for Benson and a first or second round pick.

Hey guys, looking forward to the draft. When were we going to start? I'm assuming the draft is in reverse order of last year's standings, so that would mean I have first pick. A date & time would be helpful so that way I don't hold up the draft. Lastly, is this a snake draft?

I'm not thrilled about Ahmad Bradshaw as a keeper. I'm looking for a starting RB/WR that you are the fence about keeping. Looking to give up a 2nd/3rd round pick (depending on the player).
