First, Frédéric Mitterrand (French Cultural Minister) raises an outcry with his autobiography talking about paying boys for sex in Thailand (which, inevitably, leads to a good snark in The Onion.

Then President Nicolas Sarkozy is under fire for his plan to hire his son, a college student, to head a government agency.

UW grads set pub crawl record
101 Seattle bars in a little more than 15 hours... official Guinness rules, one member of the team had to consume a drink at each pub, and they had to walk or use public transportation... each person averaging 10 drinks during the course of their day, each member of the team spent between $100 and $200, with some drinks costing as much as $17... it's kinda of blurry after that...
