Subject: The Daniel Fast

Didn't know where else to put this topic.

My local church is doing a corporate 21-day "Daniel Fast" based upon some Scriptures in the book of Daniel. Has anybody on these forums ever done this and how did it turn out for you?

Here's a blog about it.

Looks a bit superficial to me. The "diet-of-the-week" kind of thing.

for the most part, it's a vegan diet.

but it also "bans" *all* sweeteners, all leavened bread (helllllllo, Matzoh!), all processed food, all solid fats, and anything deep fried.

oh, yea, and also all beverages other than spring or distilled water.

Anyone else around here heard about the latest scientific study? They have ascertained that if one were to eat too much in the way of whole grains, vegetables, and soy products, their life expectancy would become somewhat less than average.

In order to have a long and physically productive life, tests show that he should concentrate his diet around bacon, Hershey bars, and gravy.

definitely one of the silliest things i have ever read. Hershey bars have nothing to do with a long and physically productive life.

4-sounds like a diet I should be on.
