I was going to respond to Baldwin in the baseball thread but then decided why pollute there.

When I mentioned I was going to a lunch today in honor of President Carter, Baldwin had to make a snarky remark...

"Congratulations. You are no longer the worst president in history."

To which I will respond: The work Carter has done to help the poor and oppressed since the former President left office is mind blowing. That is the difference between your "christianity" and Carter's. You are a political Christian. Jimmy Carter is a spiritual Christian.

Currently on the issue of health care, the Carter Center is working on fighting Guinea worm, river blindness, trachoma, schistosomiasis, lymphatic filariasis, and malaria in the poorest parts of the world.

He is one of the biggest forces for peace on the planet. His team at the Carter Center have observed 99 elections, they take part in major conflict resolution sessions currently working on Syria, Palestine/Israel, Liberia, South Sudan /Sudan. They have human rights programs around the world including Africa, Asia, Central and South America.

His humanitarian work since leaving the Presidency will certainly make him one of the greatest Presidents in our history, when the body of work he has done to help mankind is measured. You know, the work Christ taught us to do?

Jimmy is 90 years old, and he is traveling all the way to Dubai to meet with donors to keep these programs going. What will you be doing at 90 Baldwin? Still taking pot shots at Christians who are actually changing the world?

I will be very honored to take that selfie. Because I will be standing next to a giant of a humanitarian whose work helping his fellow man I greatly, greatly admire.

If you want to learn more about the amazing work the Carter Center is doing to make the world a better place I am linking to the Carter website here...

Great set of comments, on what religion has become for many, vs. what it is for few.
