Subject: Releasing Players in Strato Game

I got this from the rules on the Strat-o-matic game: "Note that when you release a player, only 80% of his salary will be credited to your team's account. You need to balance your salary cap carefully."

My leagues draft happened last night and as soon as it was over, some guy starting making transactions like crazy, I mean at least 40-45 transactions. I was thinking that this was a bad idea since everytime you dropped a player you would lose 20 percent of the players value, but his roster still looked expensive. Turns out i added the values of his roster and it was damn near 80 million still. So i checked mines, after i made a few transactions, and i still have a roster value + cash of 80 million.

Did I read the rules wrong, or is something messed up here?

Thanks for any help

A little hard to see but on your team page:

Before the season starts, you receive a player's full salary when you release him. After the season starts, you receive 80% of a released player's salary.

Doh, i didn't get in the action early enough and missed out on a lot of the good free agents.

Oh well, mine own fine fault for not reading more. Thanks Shelby for the info.
