First...Congrats again to J...now lets hear how bad your recruits are...wait...thats my job.

Second...holy hell...I'm back to the land of the giants as my squad:

1 guy 6'4"
1 guy 6'7"
2 guys 6'8"
2 guys 6'9"
2 guys 6'10"
2 guys 6'11"
1 guy 7'1"

and one midget at 5'11"

Uh, who is my point gaurd?

Congrats to J. You deserved it man.

As for my team, I am certainly looking forward to this season. I pulled in another good class, +14 overall and ranked 3/4. However, I think only one and maybe none of the freshmen will start. My class however, cannot hold a candle to the guys Macon got. Wow, is all I can say. While they will be the team to beat for the next few seasons, I'm hoping my depth can hold them off as I've only got 1 +3 guy. For those of you that don't check the SimSports MB, here are my recruits:

6'9" Tristen Koehler FEGEGF: I won a 3/3 tie for this guy who was a hometowner. And I somehow beat the odds to get him because he was fair- local pref.

6'8" Tom Haskins GEGGFF: I won a 2/2 tie for him. He was scouted at +7 I believe, but I'll take +5. He came out of J's conference. :)

6'7" Deshawn Payton GFGFFG: He was a clear lead. He had pretty good defensive and rebounding numbers for a SF, so he could play a little above his ratings. But, he'll probably be on NA this year.

Obviously, I am very happy with this class. I hope to improve on my 20-4 season and go further than the sweet 16. Good luck to everyone this season.

Also, I'm gonna have to figure out where to play the new guys, so I'm up for some scrimmages.

Rotoguru Round Robin Tournament
For this I need team numbers
Lansing--114
Balls- #?
AG- #?

We also need one more team, who doesn't have any scrimmages scheduled yet?

Rotoguru Double Elimination Tournament
We'll have the losing team pay for the scrimmages, that way the most you can spend is 100 credits.

For this I need coach names.

Looks like we have room for two more teams. We could just give bye's to the 2 teams w/ the highest +/-, but I think there's 2 more gurupies out there.

(1)Flying Polack- Lansing Spartans (114): mpc0416
(2)jeff1137- Atlanta Smokies (70): jeffcobb

Well, I might have shot too high with my maxes this year. But, I figure I can afford to get a walk-on since I have 2 +4's on NA. But anyway, here they are:

Rafael Lincoln (5)
Terry Barker (19)
Irving Wilbert (26)
Tyrone Reddington (27)

I am not sure what conference everyone is in, so let me know if I'm stepping on any toes. And these guys are subject to change anyway.

Another note of interest (for me anyway); my League 15 scrimmaged my League 4 team, and beat them. This is both dissapointing and exciting at the same time. I am dissapointed that my +54 League 4 team lost to a +32 team. I am excited obviously, for the same reason. My team in League 15 is now 19-1 in scrimmages. I just hope that we can keep up a somewhat similar pace in the regular season.

Kmoney's post in the League 4 MB:

"He's [P6K] going to look into it tonight. Hopefully everything will be back to normal after the updates."

My response:

"Ummmmmmmm.....so, the recruits' stats could change dramatically after tonight's updates? What if people have already submitted actions? I haven't, but I am sure there are some that have."

Kmoney's response:

"Not sure, but I would guess that he wouldn't change anything dramatically if coaches have already submitted instructions, unless he plans on undoing those actions and extending our deadline for recruiting this first week."

So, things seem to be pretty up in the air right now. I don't really like this too much.

OK. . .the stats are really, confusing me. I added everyone's points together and people are averaging 3,000 points less than last season. However they are averaging 600 more assists per game. All the other stats are pretty close.

I'm not looking at stats at all this year, only recruiting based on attributes .

Gregor Higdon 6'10" Conf-26
Kory Eskridge 6'8" Conf-26
Kory Reeeves 6'9" Conf 23

Season 21: 14.5PPG, 4.4Reb, 1.7Ast, 1.0Stl, 1.7TO, 0.6Blk
Season 22: 13.9PPG, 4.2Reb, 1.6Ast, 1.0Stl, 1.7TO, 0.6Blk

When we moved to the numerical shooting scale, there was an unintended impact on the high school players for leagues that rolled over since then (4/5/13/14). This resulted in lower-than-historical scoring averages. I have changed this back, and I think you will see things start to average out more normally. Of course, even at slightly depressed levels, the relative scoring numbers are still meaningful. Also, please note that there is not any difference attribute-wise between this set of recruits and any other set.

In fact, of the 14 guys averaging 20PPG (thru Wednesdays games) NONE are on the most recruited list! And Shirley is the only F/C on that list, here's hoping for a 0/0 :)

Reddington 2/2
Higdon 1/1
Eskeridge 0/0
Reaves 4/4

About what I expected. I've got 6 backups, all w/ pretty good attributes who the leader has less than 20 RPE. Another six weren't maxed but someone has a high amount of RPE's on the x>30. So 14 of my 26 backups were maxed, it's better than previous seasons, but I need to improve on that in the future.

How'd everyone else do?

Hiser 6/6
Whobrey 4/4
Gentile 3/3

But with Whobrey and Gentile, I think there are only 2 teams with a legitimate shot at landing them. So, I was pretty happy. Like FP, I've also got 6 backups where the leader has less than 20 RP's. So, I've got some interesting decisions to make. I've already got a decent looking SG at 0/0, so that helps. Good luck everyone.

I think I'm gonna stay on Masden for now since I only have 3 backups where the leader has 20 RPs or less, nobody to really spend points on at the momement. Plus, all those backups are the PG-type.

I actually landed 2 uncontested maxes!!!
Andy Mercer 0/0
Charles Meredith 0/0
Joe Rouben 4/4
Armon Shirley 2/2

I've got 4 backups that I'm within 10RPE of, but one of them is an 11/11 guy!!! another is 8/8.

I've got some points to spend I think I'm going after this 11/11 guy

I think another strategy I'll try, is, if I notice some guy sitting on 66 RPE, I'm gonna attack!!!!

J made a post about this on the simsports MB, but I haven't seen a response. So, I'm hoping any of you guys that are UTT could help me out.

I'm trying to determine how the computer recruits. I've got two recruits that the computer has spent 45 on, and one more that two computer teams have spent 48 on. I've also got some guys maxed by the computer.

J has got guys with 66, 51, 50, and 45 points spent by the computer. The 50 point guy really blows my mind because 35 isn't divisible by 3.

So, it would seem that the computer spends the following each week on players: 17, 12, 11, 10. I guess anyway. Any more data you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated.

so, you can see that computer coach c*00004029 is on 3 separate players, one of which he's been maxing, then 2 other players with 45 and 48RPE on.

I don't understand how the computer coached teams decide to recruit and how many points to use!!!

I've never really paid attention to how the computer recruits. In lg 11 I am tied with the comp on one of my hometown recruits who has an E+ for local. The comp team is in conf 3 and I'm in conf 19. That's probably not much help but it's all I got.

My three maxes come in at 4/4, 4/4, and 3/3. Not quite what I had hoped for. I do have some hope with my safety nets but none of them are clear leads either. Lots of decisions to make this week.

balls, the main reason I wanted to know is, I'm gonna try and sneak up on someone who thinks they've got a 0/0 max. But if the computer just always gave 17pts to the same 4 each week, I would've stayed away from them. But now that I see that is not the case, I want to see if anyone can make sense of it.

FYI to anyone who cares. I've got the lead on Woody Blake from reg 14 with 16 points. Acutally I'm tied with one other and there are 2 within 12. I will not be recruiting him any further.

Here are a couple more guys on my list that someone might be able to sneak up on.

Barry Kelly reg 13, top rpe is 24pts
Nathaniel Jecker reg 31, top rpe is 30pts

No one has put any points on those 3 players this week. All 3 look to be better than walkons but none of them will be superstars.

OT

I'm looking for a little help here with my home computer. A lot of times I get an error message when I start my computer that says "Operating system not found". I always hit control-alt-delete after I get that error and then my comp starts up just fine. Any of you know what is causing that error message? I'm running windows 98 on that comp, if that helps any.

The 10/5 tourney's taking sign-ups now. I believe there are 7 spots still available if you're interested.

I'm also looking to bolster my non-conference schedule next year. My SOS is really weak. So, let me know if any of you would be interested in a regular season game.

BTW, I don't think I'll be helping your SOS as much as you'll be helping mine. My recruiting looks average and I'm thinking my team will be just an NTT pretender next year, if I make the NTT at all. Luckily my conf sucks so I should have a decent shot of winning the conf. I need to win both of my max ties to get this team back into a NTT contender.

J, do you have the computer info updated?

balls- no problem man, a perennial NTT contender is a great addition to my schedule. My recruiting is a little suspect this year as well. I've got 3 fairly large ties on maxes. The worst part is, the guys' numbers seem to be steadily decreasing. Even if I win a tie or two, I'm not sure how good the guys will be. The one bright spot is that I think I'll be able to catch up on a PF averaging 21 and 7. Good luck with your ties.
