I just wanted to get a little discussion going here on how to make the best use of our trades. It seems to me that the trades should be made as the pitcher trades are made in baseball. That is, always trading immediately after a start into a player that will be starting the next day. This should yield the best efficiency for trades/points. It also seems taht it would behoove us to use all 6 of our original trades in the first round where we can trade into players that will be going up against the very weak teams. In the next rounds, the chances for blowouts are quite a bit slimmer.

So, do you have any input as to what teams/players are likely to pay high dividends in the coming games? I'm eyeing Cameroon on the Saudis and the Brazilians on China in the coming days. Any insight?

Assuming that you are not willing to buy more trades, I'd say don't use any during the first round.

i donno.. i think a game in the opening round has more potential for bigger points than does a game in the later roundswith little scoring. you do get an additional 5 trades as well..

Remember that many of the best teams will be sent home, during the tournament, so 5 trades for all the second phase are very few.
I'm not changing anyone, for the moment.
