Did anyone hear about how a group is going to try to buy the expos from Major League Baseball, and then move them to Puerto Rico? Personally I don't think it will happen. But what does everyone else thing? |

Would this mean the Expos will stay in the MLB and other teams would have to travel all that way just to play?

I'm assuming that. Another reason why I don't think it will happen. But hey teams will be getting multiple vacations each season. I would still like to see them move to Washington and play there...

It's actually not very far - It'd be a shorter plane ride for many Eastern divsion teams than a West Coast trip, for example.

If they go that route, it wouldn't happen before 2004/2005. Alot of work to be done on that stadium I'd imagine.
Still, I think its a market that has alot more potential than adding another team to the Washington/Baltimore area.

You mean we might actually be moving towards a "World" Series? :)

PR makes more sense that Montreal anyway. Compare:
1. Motreal - They don't speak English PR - They don't speak English
Well a tie there..
2. Montreal - Visiting teams have to go through customs PR - No customs. Joints can stay hidden securly in shaving kit, just like other road trips.
Advantage PR
3. Montreal - They don't like baseball. In fact, don't know they have a team. PR - Rabid love of baseball and provide some of the leagues best players.
Advantage PR
Montreal - cold and wet in the Spring ans Fall. PR - Warm gulf breezes and tan, beautiful women.
Advantage PR
No contest, IMHO.

Rogue - what a clueless comment. Have you ever been to the DC/Baltimore area? Stick to what you know, bro.
