If you played in one or more of the RIBC leagues in 2013, you should have received an email recently. Invitations to the RIBC, AAA leagues and AA leagues have now been sent out.
As you know, qualification for a spot in the RIBC or a AAA league is conditional on your performance in a league in the previous season.
Sixteen managers have been invited to play in the RIBC (7 from the RIBC - including me, 7 from AAA leagues, and the two AA winners). As of this moment, 13 have accepted the invitation, and three have not yet responded.
32 managers have been offered a AAA spot. The initial list for AAA is anyone not returning to the RIBC, plus anyone finishing in the top half of a qualifying league.
Everyone else has been invited to play in a AA league. If we have managers who decide not to return (or who do not respond at all), some managers will be offered an opportunity to move up. I have given everyone until Feb 21 to respond, but I'm hoping that most will reply ASAP.
If you believe you should have received an email and did not (after checking your spam folder), please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Perhaps your email address has changed since last year, or perhaps I just have an incorrect address.

i am interested in joining in the AA league

Might as well start collecting names (and emails) for AA leagues.|
If you are interested, you must provide your email address and also please indicate if you have a preference for Yahoo or ESPN as the hosting site.
Note that these leagues use a slow online draft (hosted at draftime.com) and will take place over a period of 2+ weeks during March. You will be expected to make at least a couple of draft picks per day, either live or via queue. Do not sign up if you expect to be detached from the internet for any period in March.

Tue, Feb 18, 2014, 10:24
I'll get the AAA Yahoo league up and running soon. Training 3 new employees this month and all the weather we are having in this region with me being in the insurance industry...I need a weekend. :)

as i stated in my reply to your email, I prefer yahoo ... (AAA).
Tue, Feb 18, 2014, 13:47
I would prefer Yahoo. AAA league eligible.
Tue, Feb 18, 2014, 14:26
If you've responded to an email already, you don't need to post here as well.

I have not yet heard from five AAA qualifiers:|
Better Off Red
I sent them a second email notice this morning.
Fri, Feb 21, 2014, 18:06
As of this moment, I have heard back from 16 managers who prefer Yahoo, and 12 who prefer ESPN. (Three of the Yahoo preferences said they would accept ESPN, so some shifting is still possible.)
For the 4 remaing slots, I'm still awaiting a response from:
Better Off Red
For AA leagues, I have 19 so far - 9 yahoo, 8 ESPN, two unspecified. There are still seven who played last year who have yet to respond to my email invitation.
If there are any managers in the RIBC or a AAA league who are interested in managing a second team in a AA league, please post here (as well as your Yahoo/ESPN site preference). The guidelines are that if your AA team is your 2nd team, then that team's results do not count for the purpose of qualifying for a 2015 league. (In other words, only your results in your highest ranking league will count).

Here are the people/teams I have not yet heard from for AA slots. I may have outdated email addresses for some, so if anyone knows them and can direct them here, that would be appreciated.|
John Galt's Ashes
I d'Arnaud Terry!
West Texas Whirlwind

I'll take a Yahoo AA team if you need additional managers. My primary team is Yahoo AAA.
Sun, Feb 23, 2014, 02:19
I'd like to take a AA team if there is room. Either site
Sun, Feb 23, 2014, 10:56
If its the difference between a single AA team for 16 managers and the rest are out) or 2 AA teams where everybody gets to play, Ill manage a AA team this year.|
Sun, Feb 23, 2014, 21:51
Please send me the Yahoo AA sign-up info when its available, thanks.

The AAA leagues have been filled, and the two AAA commissioners will be sending out info to those managers soon. I was able to assign most AAA qualifiers to their first choice of host site. There was a little bit of excess demand for Yahoo, however, so a couple who preferred Yahoo had to be placed into the ESPN league. |
I have 21 managers now for the 32 spots in AA leagues. At this time, I'm asking everyone who is already in one of the RIBC leagues if they would like to manage a second team in a AA league. If you do run a second team in a AA league, that team's record will not count in determining promotion qualifications for next year's leagues - only your primary team counts for that purpose. If you want to try out an experimental strategy in a no risk league, here's your chance!
If we fail to fill the two AA leagues, we can run them with less than 16 managers each. But I'd like to come as close to the 16 manager capacity as possible.
Please post your interest in a second team (and hosting site preference) here.

I would take a second team. Slight preference for ESPN.
Mon, Feb 24, 2014, 11:17
I will run a second team if still looking. Can place me where needed.
Mon, Feb 24, 2014, 13:31
I would take a second team if you still have spots. Would like ESPN
Mon, Feb 24, 2014, 14:46
I've gotten a lot of interest in running second teams, such that 30 of the AA spots are now filled. |
Just two more teams are needed to fill both AA leagues.
AA commissioners, I'll have info to you by the end of today.

Here's the latest update:|
AAA ESPN league
Better Off Red
Vote 4 Pedro
AAA Yahoo league
Art for the hall
AA ESPN league
AA Yahoo league (league thread pending)
Mike V (commish)
Note that each of the two AA leagues still has one open spot. If you want one of them, speak up!
Tue, Feb 25, 2014, 10:57
Thought I spoke up in <18> above. If you still have room I will take the remaining Yahoo spot.
Tue, Feb 25, 2014, 11:41
OK, Bean takes the last Yahoo slot. Still one slot open in ESPN - assuming that everyone shows up, now that it's crunch time.|
BTW, Mike V said he'll be doing the AA Yahoo setup work today, so if you are listed in that league and haven't heard anything yet, be patient.
Tue, Feb 25, 2014, 15:09
I thought I posted somewhere. I'd like the last ESPN spot, if it's still open. I played AA a few years ago, but had to take a hiatus. Let's see how much rust I carry.
Tue, Feb 25, 2014, 17:29
If there are others who want to be in the AA league, we can dislodge someone with a second team - as long as it's done before the start of the draft.
