Subject: Tape Recorder to PC?

I'm looking for something that I'm not even sure exists.
Is there a tape recorder (or digital recorder?) that connects to a PC and then it takes the transcript of the tape and puts it into text?
My wife is in the process of getting her doctorate and they want her to use a tape recorder while interviewing people. The problem is that it takes forever to manually transcribe the tapes.
Thanks. |

Don't know of such a device -- at least one that would be affordable. Have you considered using speech recognition software, e.g., Dragon Naturally Speaking, during playback? Check with your wife's college/university computer store to see if an academic version is readily available; if not, here's one online source: Academic Superstore.
