On a serious note, of course eliminated teams should continue to try to improve their teams, through the WW. We have an open WW and always should, and if an eliminated team can scarf up a suddenly desirable QB, or whatever, they should. But not thru trading, after eliminated. I guess I lose this argument 11-1.

I wished to add to my comment that you all are crazy: that's why I joined, or applied to join, in the first place.

After I take the title, all will be forgiven and forgotten. Well, accept for the fact that I won. I won't let anybody forget that.

Toral,
I think you may stand alone in your belief that eliminated teams should not be making trades.

I'll go so far as to say that trades made by eliminated teams maybe need to have a close eye kept on them. But in this case, I don't see a problem with the trade itself.

As pointed out above, Stuck has an improved team and can now possibly play a spoiler roll. I have not looked at who plays who this week to know if that's even a possibility.

I'd like to know why eliminated teams should not be allowed to trade. All that does is take players out of the pool of options.

I recognize that my opinion is not shared here. I'm not going to argue just to be argumentative.

I'll just leave it as is.

Great line, Tree.

I have reasons but I'd like to regard the issue as closed. If you're really interested, remind either here or on the Yahoo! site about 3 weeks from now when the issue is moot. The reasons have nothing to do with individuals, just to make that clear. To me they are obvious and apply to any non-keeper league. Stating them now might seem like I was denigrating eliminated teams.

No problem Toral.
But I do have 1 question about the league....why is everybody set for a bye this week?

Shouldn't we all play this week and have the playoffs start next week after 8 teams have played through and clinched?

It lists everyone for a bye next week and that is because the play-off match-ups are not set until after this week.

GO's Angelic Diablo vs TB
Novas Superstars vs Stuck60
Dragon Army vs Frickin Idiots
Khahan's Killers vs -S-
Untouchables vs Feed TOs Family
Strong's Backbreaker vs 3rd String QBs

That is what I see on the league page for this weeks games.

If you made changes to your line-up for the upcoming week, you will want to log on and make sure they took.

Good grief!

Like most managers, I play in lots of leagues and tend to concentrate on the ones I have a chance of winning. In this league, injuries have decimated a team I thought might be competitive as the season began.

Toral -- your resident fool here would suggest that if you don't want eliminated managers to trade, you take away their incentive to post a relevant starting lineup.
To make your fantasy life a bit easier, however, I'll make it a point not to play in leagues where you field a team.

What we all complain about is managers deserting losing teams. As long as trades are made in good faith, there should be no problem.

If someone can point out how this trade was unfair to anyone, please speak now. I wanted an NFL starter at QB. What I got wasn't much, but it was considerably better than what I had. And I certainly didn't give away the store. In fact, I turned down two other trades that week.

I hopye you'll be back for nest year, Stuck. You were here first. If no one else has problems with eliminated teams trading, I'm not going to worry about it. I should look around again and see if I can make some deals. I didn't make any offers to elinated teams and so there might be a deal to me made ought there!. This particular trade is fine by me as far as talent/fairness goes.

Things are starting to finish up. It looks like Strong's Backbreakers, 3rd string QB's and Feed TO's Family are battling for the final 3 spots.

Good luck you 3.

By far the closest league and most even competition I've ever seen.

The only guy who ruined it was Ender, by putting up double-digit wins.

Take 2 wins away from Ender and give one each to Novas and Frick and you have the most amazingly balanced league of all time.

For those of us who were fighting our way through that thick foliage jungle, it was a thing of beauty anyway.

Yeah and didn't Frick have Culpepper? A healthy Culpepper would have made a difference. I know we all have our sob stories (Deuce, McNabb, Bulger, Boldin, Roy Williams, ok I'll stop there!), but Frick with Culpepper could have been big.

Nice job Toral on overcoming the lost of Priest, even though he played a chunk of the season, and then Dillon as well. Nice job GO overcoming a QB-less draft in a 2 QB league, and ovecoming a big hangover the next morning (lol). Nice job Khahan dealing with TO and Ahman Green, and even Horn. Make sure to send Frick a Christmas card (lol).

And GO----Steve Smith with the 56th pick. All I have to say about that.

Actually I think Culpeppers injury helped me, at least I wasn't starting him and ending up with less than 5 points or a negative. This league is brutal, especially since I now have 3 small kids and don't get to sit and watch many games, I'm lucky to see most of the Colts games. I tried to make a run at the end of the season to sneak into the play-offs, but came up a little short.

I actually think I did ok considering my draft was pretty bad. S. Jackson was a great pick and Larry Johnson in R11 might have been the pick of he draft, but Culpepper in R1, JJ Arrington in R4, Andre Johnson in R5, NE D in R6, Stokley in R7, Stallworthless in R8 and E. Johnson in R9 were truely awful picks.

What did everyone think of the 2QB league, I enjoyed it as something different and it prevents the standard 2 rounds of RBs and the occasional QB or WR from being taken.

2 QB league -- fun. Easy for me to say because neither of my QB picks was injured. No wonder I enjoyed this league so much! I didn't notice any big QB injuries around the league -- Mike D, others, have any big QB injuries? I thought not ;) I didn't see any myself. (Nor any big RB injuries. Holmes? Who is he? Don't remember the name. I always try to field a good full team, one way or another.)

OTOH my strategy of picking up Carr early as a sure-fire QB3 caused consternation in the draft and I thought it was real smart. Boy, how much was I offered by GO for Carr. Basically "Anything you want or need, it can be arranged." And then Carr totally sucked. Couldn't trade him. Have thought for about 6 weeks of just releasing him, wondered if anyone would bother to pick him up.

But as to the concept -- yeah, I like it. Better to have to scour the WW for QBs than for RBs and WRs like everywhere else.

Oh, before I forget -- this league has way too short a bench. Way too short. I would add 4.

OK, no one will agree -- so let's compromise. Add 2 or just 1 next year. Please.

I agree that we need a slightly expanded bench, but not 4, unless you want to be next years MadDog and grab every QB each week and hold them hostage.

Injuries are a part of the game, but the mad grabs for QBs was maddening, especially when teams decide "Hey, even though player X is 3rd on the depth chart, will give him the start of #2."

Wiggs, I believe you stole an extra win from me...say around week 7 (81.86 vs 81.20 for the final).

For next year, I think we need to add back that wr/rb flex spot. In an odd way, I think it helps when you have a weak position. There were quite a few weeks that my RBs just plain sucked (well, ok, that was almost every week), but being able to use my depth at WR would have been a great asset to me.

LOL

We will, of course, vote on any changes for next year and go with whatever the majority decides. I didn't like the two QB's, because some weeks the match-ups looked very unbalanced. With a season of 2 QB's under everyone's belt, it should balance itself out a bit more next year if we stick with it. Hopefully, we can keep the same group together again. This year was great.

Having two QBs definitely changes the draft strategy and is probably a good idea just because it forces you to think differently.

I wouldn't even attempt to rate my draft due to the QB disaster :)

I guess I did have Steve Smith pegged right though cause I would imagine me taking him in the 5th round had to be higher than most people would have expected him to go (I think).

But then 6/7/8?! god... Baltimore D, Coles and Vinatieri. I tried a strategy of locking up TE/D/K etc early on and it didn't really work out.

I got pummelled for moving Moss for Horn/Roelisberger which worked out ok.

TB - re post 229 - guess you are glad I made my team weaker by adding Cadillac and moving Anderson lol... weird how that worked out so beautifully and against you nonetheless. Hopefully Vick can finish it off tomorrow. With my luck he will come down with a stomach flu and take the night off... good luck either way.

I don't have live-scoring, but am guessing you are kicking my butt. Obviously, I didn't expect Williams to do so well against Carolina. Fortunate it turned out well for you in case I wanted to gloat over reversed circumstances. I think you already gave me two losses this year so a third wouldn't be too surprising.
