Please discontinue posting in the other thread.

Athletics Guy, Hubble, and Doug still have not registered for the league. I resent an invite both through AOL league manager and my own e-mail. If you are having problems registering or still have not received an e-mail from me, drop me a note.

I have sent out the Kafenatid draft request as well, please register at your earliest convenience.

I will officially set the draft start date as Wednesday, August 18th.

You mean Wed Aug 22 or Sat Aug 18?

Guess I may not be around at least the morning or early afternoon on Sat the 18th.

About time to flip the calendar to August eh?

How about this?

We will do a soft start (no draft clock) on Saturday August 18th. The draft clock will begin on Monday August 20th.

Sounds good Trip. Do you have any time limits in mind when they do start?

With the crew we have, I don't think it's going to be an issue, but 4 hrs was too long in AA last year. When we went to 3 hrs for the first 18-20 rounds or so then 2 hrs the last few, it helped big time. Don't know what AAA or RIFC used, but I'd rather start late with shorter clocks. Makes preparation much easier and less chance to draft an injured player when you have achance to see 2 or 3 games. By starting the clocks on the 20th that gives us 2 preseason games and a 3rd one will be in the books after a few rounds. Perfect.

Thanks for getting and keeping this organized, Trip. The dates are perfect for me and I'm all signed up for the league and kafenatid.

Doug, thanks for looking out in the last thread.

I think we should abide by the same clock rules that RIFC uses. Why set such a short clock so early?

I hate to ask a dumb question, but how do I change my team name from the "Toral Wheatfamers" to my own?

Athletics Guy...click Team then My Profile.

We will use the same time limits as RIFC. I may have to shorten the clock at some point, but I would be very hesitant to do so before the first 10-15 rounds.

TO the RIFC and AAA #1 and #2 commishs:

A question from the AA Commish, what time limit are you going
to use once your draft goes on the clock?

We are looking at maybe 6 hours for the first few days at least.
We have already started our untimed draft. We anticipate
starting the timed draft next wednesday, the 15th.

What should we be doing or discussing? We have managers
spread over 10 time zones.

If you want to send an email reply, that is OK too.

Thanks.

Judy, this is what the RIFC did last year: "The clock will be set at 6 hours, with a moratorium from 11pm-7am EDT. If the clock expires, the next person in line will get to draft, and the skipped drafter will make up his skipped pick whenever he can. The clock will continue to run on weekends."

I am planning on following that same schedule this year.

Kafenatid gives you a predicted draft finish time. Halfway through, if it is looking like you may not finish by the season start, I would then consider shortening the clock.

Dang it TB - go back to work and quit sucking up to the Commish! (;-Þ)

BTW - Trip You have done a great job getting this organized and ready to go. :)

I signed up on Kafenated and I'm pretty sure Pete did too after taking his last S2 final at Tech before getting hammered. (Good thing he's not driving home tomorrow). lol

Hey guys, I'm registered for kafenatid. Soft start works for me as well. I'm not worried about time with the group of guys we have here.

Roy was right. I got pretty hammered last night. 3 weeks off. Woohoo ;-) Of course, I've spent all day moving out of my old apt and into a new one for next year. LOL talk about crappy timing. Nothing like moving in 97 degree heat hungover.

I woud've thrown football in there, but no b, so no fit. lol

Back from an all too brief vacation. In all of the Rotoguru baseball and football leagues in which I have parcipated we used a 6 hour clock with a time out between midnight and 7:00AM. Some stopped the clock on the weekend and some did not. It always worked out as there were only occassional instances when the clock ran down.
