WE ARE ALMOST FINISHED!

I will take care of DavePyros picks this weekend.

Also, I am out ~10 am to 12:30, ~2 to 10 pm (?), but will try and
check in during the afternoon.

For my Q's, I will leave instructions here or in an email. Please
check first as I have a few positions yet to fill, and thus do not want
to just roll through my Q picks.

Thanks.

Toral --

My Q is fine for round 21 -- it should last until my pick.

Will reset for round 22 - 24.

I know how to do the link, it just doesn't want to work!

You have been great putting your players into AOL.

Pops would you like me to do it for you since AOL is so crappy
for you?

Once all the players are in, I believe there is a "free" preseason
for drop/adds. For us, this could be as early as Monday, once I
know that all rosters are complete on AOL.

Please wait for an official announcement to proceed with drop/
adds after the draft finished.

From the rules:

During the preseason, league members are allowed to make
their own free agent acquisitions: Always

During the preseason, dropped player becomes available:
Immediately

I've made my pick for Rd 20. I haven't seen Slowhand, so I don't know for sure if his queue is setup the way he wants it. So, I'll hold off making a pick for him.

I will be out for the afternoon, so I'm setting a small queue for round 21 only.

Thanks

I'll check back in a hour or so for DAvepyro's #21 pick.

For the record, I will be around for at least the next hour and a half, just in case donkeyhunter makes is pick shortly.

I would also be remiss if I did say that in terms of the flood, the only problem that we had (if you discount the extra 10+ miles to work everday this week) was water in the basement. So we were pretty much unscathed, compared to others in my county.

Hey guys, I bleed green -- just like Trotter -- who I think will
be back as an ambassador like Hugh Douglas was a few years
ago. Gaither is going to be a good one --8+ points per game I
am guessing, esp now that he is the starter. The fun with the
Eagles is that they can be leading by 21 points in Q 4 and still
find a way to lose -- it makes it so exciting! You don't rest until
that FAT LADY sings!

Also bleed Phillies red and am bleeding a lot now -- they are
playing crappy - the bullpen is killing us -- Meyers gave up 2 PH
HR in the 9th and we lost by 1. We win by scoring runs and we
are not doing that either! Howard is floundering at the plate.
Hopefully Utley will be back tomorrow, but the Iguchi fill in did a
great job -- good D and ~.300 for us at the plate -- good little
player -- we gotta teach him to play 3rd -- our choices there
are no field but hit (dobbs, helms) or field but no hit (Nunez).

Just to round out the field, I bleed not at all for the 76ers or the
Flyers...

half his games indoors and the Saints score a lot of TD's. I figure

I understand your frustration Dave but I think he gets his full 6 hrs. It is inconsiderate and does not bode well for their level of particpation in the league to continually time out.
However overall I think this has been a great draft and I'm looking forward to a great season.

Yes, it's frustrating to have people time out multiple times, but the draft has gone pretty well despite that. It's almost over and there's no point trying to speed things up with 1.5 rounds left. Hopefully he comes back before he times out a third time :/

Sorry guys -- I was out til now. Got an email from Mike that I could

I did not know that I could "legally" do that. I probably would have

sorry.

Pops and Psychos,

Please put a Q in place for Round #24 and make it available to the

over the weekend, I will put a placeholder into your slots if you do
not leave a Q or make a pick within 30 minutes.

If you have not already done so, please add your picks to your AOL
roster. Once the draft is completed, I will ask for confirmation that
your AOL roster is complete. At that time, we will begin the pre
season drop/adds, using the AOL website.

As I read the rules, preseason drop/adds are first come first served.
Right?

I don't think so, judy. See post 57 in this thread. I can't get the link to work -- it's called "RIFC:pre-draft discussion".

It says "Following the draft, all undrafted players will be subject to a "waiver-like" priority claiming process, with the priorities equal to the reverse of the first round draft picks.

So, the team selecting 14th in round 1 will have the top priority in post draft claiming."

I don't know how long this waiver period lasts or what happens after it.

#56 Sorry guys (especially Psychos) I did not see any clock running when the draft came back to his previously missed pick. So I thought the clock and draft was totally stopped until he made his pick(s). It seemed that reading last year's threads for RIFC that frequently they put in a placeholder so draft could continue. I am glad we are still going.
Kudos to Judy for an outstanding job as a freshman commish. We are way beyond schedule, and I am just a little impatient to get the guys I want, and they ALWAYS seem to disappear right before I pick.
#64 Do we as a league pick the times for this post-draft draft?? Can we wait until after the final preseason game?

Toral, I believe that applies to the claims process, once the season starts. That is, Wednesday at noon after the first week of games and every Wednesday thereafter. Claims priority must be manually reset by Judy, worst to first, for the first 6 weeks only. After the 6th week she no longer resets.

After the draft, wavers are run for 48 hours (players frozen), then free agents may be picked up first come, first served until 5 minutes before the scheduled kickoff of that player's game.

The waver and claims systems are rules unique to the RIFC that can be a little complicated to fully comprehend.

Check that. In post 70 of that same RIFC thread it says: "Immediately following the draft, undrafted players will be subject to a priority claiming process, with priorities equal to the reverse of the first round draft order."

So there is a priority claims process after the draft.

Sorry for the confusion. I told you it was complicated.

OK - regarding the waiver wire etc stuff. (See #64 above.) I need to
read up on that on the AOL site to figure it all out, so it will be a
few days until I sort it all out. There was a suggestion to wait until
a few more games are played anyway.

Maybe Guru will email me with some helpful hints...

I will keep you posted -- as always.
70judy

Thanks to Mike, I found some stuff from last year --

hopefully GURU will kick in with the OK.

During the preseason, there is no such thing (in the Fanball/AOL
software) as waivers. That's because waivers are available based
on ranking-based priorities, and there are no preseason
rankings. Therefore, during the preseason, anyone dropped is
just held in statis for 48 hours, after which he is released and
available first-come, first served.

HOWEVER -- In the past, all undrafted players were frozen for at
least 48 hours, after which time there would be a one-time,
preseason waiver process, in reverse order of the first round of
the draft. (This needs to be done manually, via email to the
commish). After those are processed, all unclaimed players are
released to free agency, first come, first served.

At the very least we will have 48 hours after the draft ends
before anything important happens. Good thing, too -- I need a
break!

cooperation. All players are frozen for 48 hours. I will send
email details about the waiver process for requesting drops/
adds before we go to an open drop/add period.

NOw one more request. (I will also send an email.)

Please do two things:

1) Add all yourplayers to your AOL roster.
2) Check your season schedule and make sure that you play
each team twice. I am pretty sure that the schedule is accurate,
but would love to have confirmation of that before the season

Thanks for all the work Judy and everyone for a smooth draft. I will be away from computer access for 3-4 days starting tomorrow evening so I'm really glad we got this draft in before I had to leave.

We are now in the waiver/claims part of the preseason. It is the
first chance you will have to “fix” any “oops” players on your
team. The order is a reversed draft order, so Wolfer goes first.

You do not have to do this; you can wait until the free agent
drop/add period. (I do know of someone who has a player who
got cut today, so I expect at least one waiver/claim transaction
request.)

Use the AOL player list -- we are finished with Kafenatid. This is
why is it so important for you to place your players on your AOL
roster NOW!

Here is the procedure:
1) E-mail me with the player(s) you want to drop, in the
order you want them processed. Have a priority list of each
player you want to add. You may do as many transactions as
you wish (although last year we did not have any...) You must
drop a player before you can add one...
2) The deadline for me to receive these e-mails is
Thursday night at 9 pm EDT.
3) I will process the requests Thursday night and post the
results on the thread, hopefully by midnight EDT.
4) After your drop/add is approved, you need to
immediately do a drop/add on your AOL roster (or you risk
losing your guy during the free D/A period -- and THAT will be
your problem for not being prompt!)
5) Dropped players become free agents 48 hours after
they are dropped.

Please wait for the official announcement of the free agent drop/
add period. (I expect it will be midnight Friday.) I will post it on
the thread and send you an e-mail. At this point it is probably a
good idea for you to check the box in AOL that notifies you of all
transactions so you can see who has done what with the players.

IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO, PLEASE BRING YOUR AOL
ROSTERS UP TO DATE.

Thanks.

I really hate the schedule check. We'll play anyone you want to put us up against. Once, twice, 3 times, 4 times, not at all, we don't care. And if it was wrong, we won;t complain.

But since you asked me to do it, I did it :)

Free agency drop/add began at 9:00 Pm EDT August 31, 2007

I sent everyone an email at 11:49 pm on August 30.

So, yes, drop/add free agency is now open, until the start of the

Does someone know an Internet site where the starting lineups are listed?? I am very concerned about my IDP's, and would like to see defensive starters before the games.
