0 Subject: 2010 RIFC AAA #1 Draft Discussion

Posted by: Kyle
- Sustainer [052753312] Wed, Aug 18, 2010, 14:03

Here's some copypasta from Guru and the big boys league. It's delicious and al dente!

The RIFC AAA #1 draft is currently activated (I believe... DaBomb can try to enter his pick if he so chooses), but our draft does not officially start until Friday. Early picks are permitted, but not expected. Until Monday, the clock will be turned off. Starting on Monday, the clock will be set at 6 hours, with a moratorium from 1am-7am EDT. Please note: The clock will continue to run on weekends.

I am unsure as to how the MFL draft system will handle it, but the intent is that people at the endpoints of the draft have only one single time limit to make their consecutive picks. Similarly, the clock will be manually advanced to skip past anyone who already has a pick in arrears, unless other arrangements have been made in advance of that pick.

Remember that we are using a “Banzai” draft order, which differs from the traditional snake in that the order of the third round (and only that round) is reversed. The MFL system shows the correct order.

We will maintain a draft discussion thread here, but it will probably not be used extensively. If you know that you have pending time constraints, please post them in this thread. (e.g., "I'll be away until 6pm ET, so if my pick is due before then, you'll have to wait.") To the extent that you can alert everyone to potential availability issues, you can help others to plan their check-in times accordingly. That's simply good draft etiquette. I’ll also use this thread for general announcements about the draft.

There are some important differences in the mechanics of the MFL system vs. the kafenatid.net system that we have used in prior years. Those differences, along with instructions for using MFL, appear below in the next post.

When drafting, there is no need to draft every position. For example, if you want to skip a kicker, be my guest. You will, however, need to start a complete lineup for the first NFL week.

Note that trades during the draft are allowed. Trades should be announced here, and may include any combination of picks and/or players.

Players who are not yet listed at myfantasyleague.com may be drafted, and if so, a placeholder player will be assigned to your roster until that player is available. Once the draft is complete, you may no longer sign (or protect) an unlisted player.

Please be sure you understand all of the scoring and roster rules for this league. The current rules will be copied into post 2 of this thread.

Rationales will be expected for each pick, but delayed by two rounds. When we near the end of round two, I will set up a thread for those.

Please refrain from mentioning undrafted players, either in this thread, or in your posted rationale.

If you wish to track the draft without directly accessing the mfl site (e.g., if that site is blocked from your access at work), the following links may be used:

List view: Linky
Grid view: Linky
This will also allow you to keep tabs on other RIFC drafts as well. Note, however, that this is strictly a viewing mechanism. It will not allow you to actually enter a draft pick, or set up a queue. For that, you will still need to log directly into the mfl site - or else email the commish to do it.

Here are some guidelines for executing your draft picks:

1. "My Draft List" - Under the "For Owners" menu (at the top), there is an item called My Draft List. You can think of this as your personal pre-ranking of players if you wish, although it has one important operational impact. If your 6-hour clock expires, then your pick will be automatically selected as the top name on your "My Draft List". Only if that list is empty will your pick be skipped. (More on this in a moment.)

2. "Pre-Draft Pick" list - These are the equivalent of the kafenatid "queue", with several important distinctions:
-There is a separate list/queue for each round, and they do not carry over, and
-If there is a name in your queue, that player will be immediately selected when it is your turn to draft. The only way to turn off a round-specific queue is to empty it.
Therefore, it is important to keep your queues empty unless you are sure that they should be used. If you expect to want to load & unload your queue frequently (similar to turning it on or off), then you should probably keep a list of players in "My Draft list", as you can quickly pull up that short list to add players to any queue.

Of course, if you have players in "My Draft List", then you are also subject to having those players selected if you should time-out. Typically, that shouldn't be a problem, as timing-out should be a rare occurrence.

If you want to keep players loaded in "My Draft List" and you don't want to risk the top name being selected automatically upon timeout, then I suggest putting a "placeholder" player at the top of your list. Following is a short list of possible placeholders who are retired (or dead) yet still available in the MFL database:
Chris Henry
David Tyree
Bert Berry
Junior Seau

There are undoubtedly other player names that we can come up with for additional placeholder options, if needed. If you time-out and a placeholder player is automatically selected for you, then you can have the commish replace that player with a real pick when you are available.

Note that because queued picks are automatically processed, there is no role tantamount to a designated picker. As commissioner, I can enter a pick on anyone’s behalf. Other than that, you – or anyone else with access to your MFL password – will be the only one who can directly enter a pick.

If any of these instructions are unclear, please ask.

Unlisted players
During the draft, any player may be drafted, regardless of whether or not the player is listed at the hosting game site. Once the draft is completed, unlisted players may not be added to any roster. This applies for any post-draft waiver processing as well.

In the event that a drafted player is not listed after the draft has completed, a placeholder player will be assigned to the drafting team, to be replaced by the drafted player as soon as he is available.

Priority Claiming
All free agents (any players not on a current roster) are subject to a weekly claiming process at noon on Wednesday. Following each of the first 6 weeks of the season, the priorities will reset weekly based on the reverse of W/L percentage. After that, priorities will not be reset during the regular season. Throughout the season, when a player is claimed, the claiming team moves to the end of the claiming priority list. Following the final regular season game, priorities will be reset based on playoff seed, with the top seed getting the top priority. Thereafter, throughout the playoffs, priorities will again adjust only when a claim is awarded.

Starting at 3:00pm on Wednesday, all free agents may be picked up by any team "first come, first served" without any change in priority status. Players who were just dropped in conjunction with a waiver claim will be treated the same as other free agents (i.e., not subject to s separate waiver period).

(Immediately following the draft, undrafted players will be subject to a priority claiming process, with priorities equal to the reverse of the first round draft order.)

Starting five minutes prior to the scheduled start of each NFL game, no player in that game may be dropped, regardless of whether the player is an active or bench player.

Schedule
13 week round robin
Doubleheaders all weeks 1-13 (play each team twice)
Single elimination playoffs, weeks 14-16

Trades and trade deadline
During the draft, trades may include draft picks. Trades will normally be approved immediately by the Commissioner, assuming they are reasonably balanced. If league managers believe an announced trade is unbalanced, they should protest the trade ASAP.

After the draft, trades will be subject to a review period. For the first 24 hours following a trade, managers may protest a trade by posting a message at the RotoGuru forum, or by sending an email to the Commissioner. If at least 3 managers protest a trade within 24 hours of its announcement, then all managers will be polled within the next 24 hours. If seven or more managers vote to veto a trade, then it will not be approved. If a proposed trade is announced less than 24 hours before the earliest freeze for any player involved, then the entire trade will not be processed until the following week.

If a trade does not receive at least 3 protests, then it will be effective 24 hours after it is announced. If a trade receives at least 3 protests but the protests are not upheld in a full league vote, then the trade will be processed 48 hours after it is announced.

The trade deadline is 11:30pm EST on November 11.

Stat corrections
These will be automatically applied. This typically happens on Thursday morning. In the playoffs, this can lead to an issue if a team is suddenly “back in the game”, but that team was unable to make roster moves the prior day. If a stat correction changes a playoff matchup at the last minute, then any impacted team will be given the opportunity to make a last minute roster move, if needed. The Commissioner will attempt to ensure that this provision is enabled as fairly as possible under the circumstances.

During the playoffs, once the first game of the week has started, no stat corrections will be allowed thereafter.

Playoffs
8 teams
Top 6 W/L records are seeded 1-6
Top remaining total points are seeded 7-8
Teams with equivalent W/L records are seeded based on head-to-head first (regardless of the number of teams), then total points.
Bracket is fixed (no reseeding after each round)

Players at the primary skill positions (QB, RB, WR) and team defenses may not be added for any reason during the playoffs. Free agents at these positions will be locked out after the final regular season game. You may drop a player at one of these positions, but once dropped, that player cannot be added later.

Players at the other positions (TE, PK, IDP) may be added or dropped according to normal regular season guidelines, subject to playoff claiming priorities, if applicable.

If a playoff game ends in a tie score, the team with the better seed shall advance.

Teams which are not still active in the Championship playoffs may not make any transactions - adds or drops - even if they are still competing in the Consolation bracket.

Other interesting information:

QUESTION:
What happens if you have two picks in a given round, due to a trade? For example, suppose I have pick 5.02 and also 5.12. If I set a queue for my 5th round, will it still be used when pick 5.12 is due? Will I have an opportunity to set two separate queues? How will that work?

ANSWER:
In the drop down list near the bottom where you select the other rounds to set a queue you'll see something like 5.12. It won't use your 5th round queue for it. Easiest way to check what picks you have queued up is to go to the draft report and it marks every single pick someone has pre-drafted as well.

I will be limited during the day (8-4 EST). I would appreciate swapping phone numbers and/or providing my work email to the commish, in case I'm unable to keep up w/ the draft via queues.

One thing I liked about kafenatid was that I could access it from work. That won't happen this year.

OK, I'm losing it, or just don't understand the site well enough.
I've set up a draft list, but how do I set up a queue from there.
Or can I not do that until the draft starts.

I see some with pre-draft selection made, but after an hour of trying to figure it out, am just frustrated.

Goatlocker: In the upper area of the screen there's a drop down for owners. Click the draft button and that will allow you to set up a queue.

For those of you who'd like a picture tutorial, I decided to do one (because this isn't the easiest site to navigate.

Step 1: Hover over "Owners" to get the drop down and click "Draft"

Step 2: Fill in your queue! Be sure that you are working in the round you want to. You can change the round in by clicking area highlighted by the red box.

Please note that in the second picture I'm working in the third round. That's because I have my first 2 rounds filled out right now, and don't care to show you all my draft list :) The default is to go to round 1 right now, I don't know if that changes as the draft progresses or not.

I hope this helps everyone out here!

Fantrax had to be the worst site we've ever used for this, so I'll disagree with the "Anything is better than Fanball" comment. I just realized a few days ago when I thought I had used MFL, it was for the Survivor league last year, so I'd literally just check my score each week. There was very little to do for the daily clicker like me.

If you set a queue that contains someone selected after it was set, they'll still be there if you go to edit that at a later time. Won't affect anything unless something wacky happened and the commish changes that person's pick, which is probably why it's set up like that.

Alright guys, let's try to get through 3 or 4 rounds with the clock off this weekend. If you need help making your pick, JSeth and I have the ability to make picks for you. Feel free to e-mail me with any contact info that you may feel help speed up the draft. I'd like to knock out around 25 picks a day so we get this done before Labor Day weekend and possibly lose a few people to a weekend vacation.

Ok Tree-
I've got it now- but its not anywhere under Franchise on the prime left menu, No where on the top menu right above all the info, not under communications on the small top menu containing the owner options and not even directly under franchise set-up on the owner option menu-where the first screen even requests your e-mail address. Any of those places would have been more intuitive to a computer novice like myself than under communications below onwers info set-up with a redundent request for e-mail address??
In fact w/o someone else's instructions (not contained on any of the menus I found , including help and a cursory look thereunder for draft notifications) I don't think I ever would have found it myself.
Maybe my intuition is just misguided but to me it was placed counter intuitively.

for some reason, drafts i'm in alway seem to stall on the swing.

The clock is officially on, becuase I kind of forgot to do that this morning. Here's some stuff from the website about the clock:

Set Timer To: 6 Hours 0 Minutes
Hint:
The time selected above is the minimum amount of time that the system will wait before expiring. For example, if you select 12 hours, the system will wait at least 12 hours, but no more than 12 hours and 15 minutes, before expiring. The system will check the status of the draft every 15 minutes, on the hour, at 15 minutes after the hour, half-past the hour, and 45 minutes after the hour, to see if the timer has expired. However, when in the "Live Draft Room", the system will display a countdown timer, and when that timer reaches zero, the draft timer will expire.

When the timer expires: Allow the system to automatically pick a player for the owner based on the highest-ranked available player on the owner's "My Draft List" player rankings, otherwise, skip the pick. The league commissioner may then use the For Commissioners > Setup > Draft Setup > Change Draft Pick option to pick the appropriate player at the appropriate time to compensate for the skipped pick, if league rules permit it.

I've got good news and bad news.

Good news: LOTS of queues were used today! Nicely done guys. If we can get 20 more picks done today we'll be right back on track to finish the Friday before Labor Day!

Bad news: Let's try to keep the Rationales in order. If there's a placeholder, post your rationale in here and a moderator can move it to the placeholder. Valkyrie and Tree, could you delete the rationales you posted in the thread, and Tree you can post yours in here and someone can move it to the right spot. Thanks!

1.04 Ray Rice, RB, Balt

this was a no brainer for me, and it's why i opted to pick fourth. to me, Johnson, AP, MJD, and Rice are in the top tier of RBs, and i wanted one of them. picking fourth ensrred that, and i fully expected to end up with Ray Rice, and I did.

i am very happy with the selection.

I am not sure what you want- I thought in the past we put all 5 in one grouping- it is much easier to do that way but someone else started with individual placeholders.
In the alternative I can cut and paste them in the right order when the placeholders catch up to me? I really don't want to be redoing all of them??

Mike- MFL may not be intuitive or logical but it seems to work quite well once you get the hang of it- I think its just a steep learning curve but most likely it will be worth it in the long run.
Some people even find it intuitive- wish I did.
Then again I am stuck on reverse Polish notation with my HP 12- maybe that is my problem.

Draft Slot #2

Didn't really consider anywhere except #2, #4, or #12. #4 I'd be guaranteed one of the sure thing RB's but ultimately decided that Rice or Turner had a few question marks that AP doesn't have. Plus, I have Rice on my G24 team and as much as I like him I don't like putting all my fantasy eggs in one basket. #12 was slightly interesting because of the banzai format. I ultimately decided that the pick advantage in round 3 isn't that much important for someone that has a hard time gauging talent in rounds 2-6(I feel I'm a much better deep sleeper drafter than a value pick drafter).

1.02 Adrian Peterson

He's a beast and with Favre back I don't see why he won't duplicate last year's numbers. Taylor is gone so presumably Peterson will see a few more reps come his way. He's been prone to fumble but I feel fumbles are more a product of luck especially for someone as strong as Peterson.

2.13 Marquez Colston
Colston seemed like a safe pick here. It would be hard for him not to be a top 10-15 receiver if he's healthy. I like that security with a 2nd round receiver. I considered a few RB's like Charles or McCoy but both seem to be running behind weak O Lines which can doom even very talented RB's. Plus both are going to be sharing time. McCoy is small so he could miss out on goal line TD's.

3.13 Matt Schaub, QB, TEX

I was shocked he slipped this far. He's on the lower end of the top tier QB's but he's definitely capable of scoring the most points in the league. That's pretty good value for someone at 3.13. Didn't really consider anyone else in this slot since I was travelling and snap drafted Schaub when I saw he was still available.

4.13 Justin Forsett, RB, SEA

Ugh, this is my worst pick so far. I was lost on this pick. I ended up reaching for Forsett since I see him having a decent amount of upside. Seattle's backfield is crowded but Julius Jones is crap and Washington has injury issues. I should've just sacked up and took Harvin but his head issues are kinda scary. I completely forgot about Sproles here. He was the #11 back last year and I see his role being similar with a few less carries. Kinda pissed I let him slip my mind.

5.02 Jermichael Finley, TE, GNB

This was my guy last year. I picked him in every draft. Unfortunately, he sucked early and I ended up dropping him before he started raking in the last few weeks. Finley has #1 potential at the TE position and I'd be shocked if he isn't in the top 3 at the end of the year. This semi makes up for my disaster at 4.13.

1.06 Frank Gore, SF, RB

Considering I had the 12th pick to choose my draft spot I was pretty happy to still have a spot open in the top half of the draft. I had 6 RBs in my first tier. I wanted to get one of those guys.

I figured I would get a chance to draft either Gore or Turner here. Johnson was never an option for me; I just couldn’t draft a WR this early. I’m happy with Gore he has a ridiculously easy schedule and an improved OL from last year. He has never really had a problem getting yards just scoring consistently. I’ll need him to get 12+ TD’s for this pick to be a success.

2.09 Tom Brady, QB, NEP

Part of my plan in picking 6th was to have a chance at DeSean Jackson for my 2nd pick. He didn’t make it. I thought long and hard about some of the other top WRs along with Benson and finally decided to lock up my QB spot. Brady has a tough schedule but has some great weapons at WR this year. Another year removed from his injury I think he will be back as the top QB in the league.

3.09 Wes Welker, WR, NEP

I guess I’m drinking the Patriots Kool-Aid this year. Welker is a freak, 7 months after a knee injury and he is back playing in the preseason. He is a stud who will catch a ton of passes for NE as long as his knee holds up. I thought about Boldin here but just went with the guy I enjoy watching on Sun. I’m not really a closet Pats fan its just a man crush on Welker.

4.09 Felix Jones, RB, DAL

Here is a homer pick. I could have gone with Barber but I think Felix is more talented and should end up with more touches this year. The big down side to any Dallas RB is that they are three deep and might not have enough balls to go around.

5.06 Johnny Knox, WR, CHI

Knox should be the number one WR in a Mike Martz offense. Knox so far has been the most targeted WR for the bears in both preseason games. He should also be active on special teams, which is nice. I thought about Sims-Walker but decided to go for the upside of Knox.

2.11 Roddy White, WR, ATL

with more and more teams going to a two- and even three-back approach for RB, i feel it was important to get a top flight WR here. Because of that committee approach to RB, i think that WRs are going to become more and more valuable.

Roddy White was someone i had targeted for this round, so i am pleased to basically get the two guys i had hoped/expected to get in the first two rounds.

3.11 Jahvid Best, RB, Det

time to get an RB2 before there aren't any left.

Best, to me, was, well, the best left on the board. he's a little boom or bust because you never know quite how a rookie is going to perform, but he's looked good in the pre-season, and i think the Detroit offense is going to surprise people this year.

4.11 Dwayne Bowe, WR, KC

with two RBs on my roster, it's time to start stocking the WRs, as we've got several positions to fill, and WRs go fast. i'm surprised Bowe was still around this late, so he was a no brainer to me considering who was on the board.

5.04 Marion Barber, RB, Dal

Barber being around at this point makes me happy. a lot of people are really down on him, but my gut is that he's a bounce back candidate, and at the 60th pick of the draft, he's work that risk. it shores up my RB core having a guy like him here, because he's a perfect player to, at worst, will in during bye weeks.

Ok, new feature to our draft's home page. If you're using the league's default you now have a "Draft Status" box where the "Countdown to NFL Season" box was. Also if you want to change your home page up and have it however you want it you can do that by going here. Enjoy!

Draft slot 13
with the bonsai draft style I thought 13 would make a lot of sense. I thought it would be a bigger advantage in the 3rd and 4th round. In hindsight I wish I would have taken the 2nd position.

1.13 Drew Brees
I went against what I typically do and wait on a qb. I really wanted Mendenhall and considered Wayne.

2.02 Shone Greene
I like Green a ton. It was probably a reach, but time will tell. I considered Matthews.

3.04 Dallas Clark
back to back reaches for me. My logic is that I didn't like any of the WR at the time, Steve Smith was my top choice (I don’t think he will stay healthy, he will break another arm or should or something) I met him on campus several times and he is maybe 5’8” or I didn't think they would produce much better than Clark.

4.02 Matt Forte
Last year this guy was a top five pick and then had a horrible season. I hope a new OC makes the difference and he gets his speed burst back and become like a Marshall Faulk. I thought he had a huge upside compared to any other player. I really wanted A. Foster, but I screwed up. I was hoping Welker, Boldin or Gates would have continued to slip to me.

5.11 Hines Ward
Safest, consistent available WR at the time. Aging vet that can still play. I was hoping Bowe would fall some more, wasn’t close. I also wanted Knox, Nicks or Wallace.

figuring a
top QB would be there - did not realize both would be there -
went
back and forth on which one to choose - hope I picked the right
one...perhaps Brees will suffer too much of a Super Bowl
Hangover

2.05 Grant, Ryan GBP RB Did not plan on going all packers
but what can ya do - not too exciting but has been consistent
and is the only game in town - hoping for more of the same and
with him and Rodgers should get most - if not all - of the
rushing td's in a high powered offense

3.05 Smith, Steve CAR WR Hope this one works out -
possibly borderline nuts - might break something - new
quarterback - crossing fingers

4.05 Foster, Arian HOU RB Emerging as the top Texans
back - unproven but having a good pre-season - and everyone
knows full season performance is predicated on how you
perform in the pre-season - right? right?

5.10 Wallace, Mike PIT WR Was hoping Spiller was going to
fall to me - almost took him in the 4th round but thought he
might last - decided to believe the hype

1.05 Michael Turner, RB, Atl
With the last selection of draft choices, I was stuck with 1.05. The first four draft picks were fairly obvious - maybe not in their order, but at least in the players making up the first four picks. After that it's not as clear. I'd seen Gore rated 5th in a number of listings, but have never really been high on him. Sure he gets decent yardage adds receiving yards, but he doesn't score TD's with regularity. That's where Turner comes in... If he can stay healthy, I'll be happy with this. I wanted to have a RB I didn't have to worry about, after my struggles last year in RIFC with starting RB's that simply didn't produce.

2.10 Calvin Johnson, WR, Det
Well, last year I chose Johnson with my first-round pick, and it's part of the reason I'm down in AAA this year. He put up decent numbers, but suffered some injuries and was often the focal point of defenses and wasn't able to produce like I expected. That all said, I still chose him here over Roddy White and Brandon Marshall whom I also considered. White might have been the smarter pick as he has an established qb to get him the ball, but I went with Johnson hoping that he really breaks through this year. He definitely has the size and the skills to be the top WR in the league, now he just needs the opportunity.

3.10 Philip Rivers, QB, SD
I thought about Boldin for a bit, but then decided to pick between the two top qb's still available. Last year I was doomed by poor quarterback play, so I didn't want to have those worries again. I felt I couldn't go wrong with either Rivers or Schaub. I ended up going with Rivers simply because I think he's a better quarterback at this point in his career. I see him throwing less picks, and maybe even reaching that elite level of qb's as he keeps willing his team to victory.

4.10 Ronnie Brown, RB, MIA
I still needed my second starting back. I was glad Brown fell to me as after Addai was taken off the board a few picks earlier, I didn't really see another option for this slot that I'd be comfortable putting in the lineup week in and week out. Brown put up some good numbers last year until injuries got the best of him. So, with a fragile second running back, I'll have to make sure I have some bench help.

5.05 Chad Ochocinco, WR, Cin
Not really sure why the WR formerly known as Chad Johnson fell this far. I don't really see TO taking a whole lot away from 85 - some redzone looks perhaps, but in the long run it should free him up for more opportunities. The last several RIFC's I've picked up a TE in this spot, and actually had Finley in my queue before Ocho Cinco, but he was taken a few picks earlier.

Draft Slot

I had the 3rd choice in the draft squared and the 3rd and 14th pick had been chosen. The new 3RR draft gave a later pick more benefit than in a snake, but I think having a top RB still outweighs the greater benefit of having a later pick, especially when Chris Johnson could be mine for the taking.

1.01 Chris Johnson, RB, Ten

Not much of an explanation needed here. Johnson was 4 points better per game than the next best producing RB (MJD) last season.

2.14 Chris Benson, RB, Cin

In a normal snake with a top pick I usually grab a 2nd RB and a WR. Not so much anymore with the 3RR and I had to decide which route to take here. I decided to take Benson since I thought my choices for a 2nd RB if I waited would be a steep dropoff from him.

3.14 Josh Cribbs, WR, Cle

Maybe I reached here, but I really like Cribbs in this format. He was the 6th best producing WR last season (ahead of guys like Fitzgerald and Wayne) and he can potentially improve with an expanded role in the offense this year. Return guys are sometimes tricky as they can lose their jobs easily, but I can't see that happening here as he is the best in the game.

4.14 Jason Witten, TE, Dal

Having a reliable TE is important in a deep league. Witten had a down year fantasy points wise but I credit that to his low TD total (2) as he still had 1000+ receiving yards.

5.01 Percy Harvin, WR, Min

Another player who excels in this format. His migraines are a concern, but reports are that they are under control (for the time being?) and he should return to practice soon.

6.08 Kevin Kolb, PHI QB
I'm going to try out the Quarterback by Committee approach this year. I had Kolb slotted as my QB from the very beginning and figured it'd be the 6th or 7th round that I grab him. His schedule is very favorable, and he gets some really easy pass defense’s during the playoffs, should I get there! He has 2 great WRs who just don’t drop the ball, an awesome young RB who can catch as well as he runs, a big pass catching TE, and a coach who wants to throw the ball a minimum of 100 times a game. All this adds up to a lot of safe throws, a boatload of yards, and a good amount of TDs. It also helps that when they get into redzone they don’t have anyone to run the ball. Having a pro-bowl LT is just icing on the cake for Kolb. Pick 12.08 (Chad Henne) was the QBBC secondary pick for the games that Kolb plays a top flight pass defense.

7.07 Jackson, Vincent SDC, WR
Sign your tender you big dope! He's suspended for 3 games right now and holding out for a contract extension. I don't think holding out for the whole year would be in his best interest since he's a Free Agent at the end of the year. Just sign, take your 3 game suspension, and come back to give me 1000 yards and 8 TDs in the final 13 weeks. Thanks.

8.08 Posluszny, Paul BUF LB
There's 3 tiers of LBs in the league right now. There's the Patrick Willis Tier, the Jon Beason Tier, and then the tier of high performers that are no where near those other 2 guys. My queue was set up for a LB because I knew as soon as Beason went I had 1 round to get a guy from this third tier. My queue was Barrett Ruud (7.14), James Laurinaitis (8.03), DJ Williams (8.01), Paul Posluszny (8.08), and look at the order that the LBs went! Crazy...

Coming out of LB University, Posluszny has put up great numbers the past 2 seasons. Last year's broken arm kept him out of 4 games, but he still registered 91 tackles and created 6 turnovers after the injury. Good enough for me!

9.07 Berrian, Bernard MIN WR
With Rice out for half the year and Vincent Jackson being extremely questionable on whether or not he'll even play (he better...) it was high time to take a forth WR who could play in the first few weeks along side Hakeem Nicks. BTwice will hopefully put up great numbers in the first half while Rice is out and Harvin's brain decides to ail him. Grandpa Favre has to throw to someone, and along with Shiancoe (taken 6 picks later), Berrian has to receive something, right?

10.08 Cooley, Chris WAS TE
Remember when Chris Cooley was an top 5 TE? In '07 he had 780 yards and 8 TDs and '08 he had 800 yards (and only 1 TD). He's also only 28 years old so it's not like he's old decrepit and going to start going down hill. Let's take a look at who's throwing him the ball now. A guy who's TEs have averaged 620 yards and 4 TDs over the past 5 years. Yeah, that's only 5 points a game, but when you consider that he was playing with some subpar TEs who had some lean years in the middle there, and he's playing with a highly skilled TE, I imagine Cooley's numbers can only improve. I'm thinking something like 800 and 8-9, which for the 10th round and the 14th TE off the board, I can't sneeze at.

Big key with Jackson is that he actually has two 3 game suspensions.
One from the league and one from the team.
Right now the team one is stacked onto the league one.
If he keeps screwing with them, they will make it concurrent and he will be out for 6 games.

6..13 Eddie Royal, WR, DEN

Hoping last year was just a mixture of Marshall being the constant target and Royal just having bad luck. Last year he returned kicks and punts but word is he most likely won't be this year. It's kind of a mixed blessing. Usually that means he'll see a more looks on offense. We'll see. I'm guessing he'll be back there at some point.

7.02 Clinton Portis, RB, WAS

1 year removed from a couple of years of 1st round production. I'm guessing everyone is scared because he's reached the age where most RB's breakdown. Pretty much every fantasy analyst out there has harped don't draft him. At 7.02 it's far enough down where if he has half a year of production than he was worth it. He's fortunate not to have in younger faster guys behind him so it's unlikely he gets benched. Ultimately, he's a decent bye week filler or matchup fill in.

8.13 Lance Briggs, LB, CHI

If I had to I'd take back this pick and take Demeco ryans. He'll still should be a top 10-15 LB. IDPs are a lot of luck especially with TO's and TD's. All you can do is draft consistent guys that aren't too injury prone. Anybody that is a bonified expert at IDP's has way too much time on their hands.

9.02 Jacoby Jones, WR, HOU

He's currently the #3 receiver but also is the punt returner. He's too good not to get looks. I thought about Berrian here and maybe he's the better value. However, I already have AP and don't like having too many receivers and RBs on the same bye week. Jones bye week is 7 and none of my other WR or RB's have that bye week yet.

10.13 Chester Taylor, RB, CHI

Forte tore it up last preseason game and Taylor sucked. I'm guessing that's why Taylor slipped this far. It'll be interesting to see how many carries they both get but most people think it'll be at least a 60/40 split. With Martz driving Chicago's offense Taylor is a legit 4 RB.

6.04 Brandon Jacobs, nyg, RB
Wanted Bradshaw here but he was taken in the 5th. Hopefully Jacobs provides productive RB depth as there aren't a lot of other RB's that intrigue me.

7.13 T.J. Houshmanzahed, settle, wr
Had to go wr here and Maclin went one ahead of me (as a result of my third round trade up) but I am happy with TJ as a #3 wr.

8.04 Minnesota- Tean Def
A bit early but I am happy to reach for a top team D- a category which I believe is undervalued in the RG leagues.

9.11 Rolando McClain, Oak, LB
I needed a LB and the top were gone- McClain is the top college LB in the draft taking a position which has historically been quite productive with Morrison.

10.04 John Carlson, Seattle, TE
Took one of the last remaining te's that has a chance to be more than sporadically productive. No guarantee he will produce and this is more of a potential than a production pick.
My alternative was a top IDP line or DB and punting the te position.

06.01 Devin Hester, WR, CHI

I wanted to round out my starting WR corp before things got too thin, and I was happy to pick up Hester here. I figure he'll either get a lot of targets in a Mike Martz offense, or it'll be more of a Knox show which would then make him more available for return duties. I've had him in the past and his return work plus Cutler makes him a fairly consistent WR.

07.14 Barrett Ruud, LB, TB

IDP strategy has evolved in the RIFC over the years. I've always had a knack for picking defensive guys, so when these leagues first started, it was easy to wait until near the end of the draft while loading up on offensive players, then grab a bunch of guys that would still put up great stats. Those days are GONE!

I knew I wanted at least 2 stud LBs on my team. While I eventually would need a QB, I thought this was a good time to try to start an LB run. Ruud ranked third on my board and and has been an elite player before, so he was an easy choice.

08.01 D.J. Williams, LB, DEN

D.J. was ranked fifth on my board and with the injury to #should not be drafted#, he's pretty much going to have to make the tackles on this team. With two top LBs, I can afford to wait on the rest of my IDPs.

09.14 Donovan McNabb, QB, WAS

I had originally planned to take McNabb and Palmer on the turn and laugh maniacally at my excellent QBBC. I set my queue with about 5 guys to go and almost had a heart attack when I saw that it was my turn to pick and both guys had been picked. It took me a couple of minutes before I realized that the jerk who picked McNabb was me!

Frankly, my expectations for McNabb are that he will score really well until he gets hurt. Hopefully by then I will have this year's out of nowhere QB on my team and can plug him in. If I get 12 games out of Donovan I'll be thrilled.

10.01 LaDanian Tomlinson, RB, NYJ

With Carson off the board (GL, you are killing me this draft!), it seemed prudent to draft my bye week RB since Bradshaw is by no means a lock. LDT was really the only guy that jumped off the board at me. Did you know the Jets had 600 rushing plays last season? Neither did I until I started researching this pick. Even if they drop that to 500 carries, that sounds like a lot of work that Tomlinson can pick up.

The history of elite RBs changing teams in their 30s is mostly a sad tale. There's #undrafted#, #undrafted#, and who can forget about #undrafted# playing like a shadow of himself in that hideous uniform? Hopefully LDT will play more like #undrafted# and give me one more good year before the wheels come off.

Plus, I plan to send Art's in the Hall photos of LDT every week holding a newspaper until he meets my ransom demands while I twirl my handlebar mustache.

Draft slot 9
My rationale for this was to get one of the top 7 RBs. I figured that Andre Johnson would go and 1 QB also, so 9 seemed safe. Had this draft been like the other RIFCs I checked out, that plan would've been fine. No QB takers amongst the top 8 here though, so....

1.09 Randy Moss, WR NE
I'm not one to pick a QB in round 1, so Moss was the next best thing for me. His upside is limitless and should do consistently well if he and Brady stay healthy.

2.06 Desean Jackson, WR Phi
If Jackson returns punts this should work out pretty well. Assuming that, I had him as the 3rd WR on the board. Originally I was hoping Greene or Mathews would still be available here. I figured I could get similar RB value in Rd 3, so I went for a second top WR. As my pick came up my other consideration was Calvin Johnson.

3.06 Jamaal Charles, RB KC
There's been a lot of talk about Charles 2009 season, his spot on the depth chart, etc etc. Some are very high on him, others say he is overvalued. I may have preferred Benson or Thomas, but I am satisfied with Charles. Let's hope he gets the chance to prove himself.

4.06 Joseph Addai, RB Ind
Not overly excited about this pick. Was hoping Forte or Moreno would still be here. Wasn't seriously considering anything but RB here (the top QBs were all gone by now), and I had Addai as the best available.

5.09 Tony Gonzalez, TE Atl
Now that I have a couple RBs, I feel a little better. The top tier of TE were going fast, so I jumped on Gonzalez. As an Eagle fan and a previous Celek owner I might've preferred him, but with Jackson already I decided to diversify.

6.03 Jon Beason, LB, Car
Was targeting Willis, but my 5th round pick already saw him gone as I said earlier.
Not a lot of drop off from him to Beason, so this still works for my first IDP.
With 6 IDP now, this is not an area I feel comfortable waiting too long on.
Can win or lose for you.

7.12 Jeremy Maclin, WR, Phi
Time to go back and pick up an additional WR/RB.
What very enamored with the RBs available, so went the WR route.
This pick will be driven by QB performance.

8.03 James Laurinaitis, LB, STL
Was surprised to see one of my top 5 LBs still sitting there, so decided this still fit in to my overall plan.

9.12 Carson Palmer, QB, CIN
Not sure why I made this pick here, but does give me a very, very good back up.
And keeps him out of the hands of others.
Might be valuable later on the trade side.

10.03 Green Bay Packers, DEF, GBP
Generally earlier than I would go for a defense, but had them listed at #2 and they really fit well into my plan for covering Defense based on SOS.
Now just to get the second half of the need covered later.

Also I'm sure you all got the e-mail today regarding the changes they made in the player database. According to Guru:

Please check your roster of drafted players on Friday to see if any have been impacted. If so, you have the option of reverting back to their position as of the time they were drafted, or you may accept the change. If you want them to revert back, let me know, as this requires the Commissioner to accomplish.

Here is the list of players who had their position changed: link

6.10 Mike Sims-Walker, WR, Bal.
I was surprised that the draft made it back to me during the workday. I only checked in a couple times during the day, but was happy to see that Sims-Walker was still available. He was in my queue for my previous pick (when I chose Ochocinco), and had them each similarly ranked. I went ahead and grabbed my 3rd starting wideout. Similar to 85 with TO in the fold, I'm hoping that Boldin frees up Sims-Walker to go downfield...

7.05 Kellen Winslow, TE, TB
In past RIFC's, I've tended to grab top TE's early. In fact last year I had both Gates and Dallas Clark - who were essentially the lone bright spots on my team. This time around, I missed out on the top guys but was happy to get Wisnlow here in the 7th round. He certainly has the potential of being a top producer, but has tended to be limited by his own idiocy or the skill level of his qb's.

8.10 Fred Jackson, RB, Buf
I had been looking at several running backs. Top of the list were Cadillac, Donald Brown, and Fred Jackson. Left a queue in the morning, I don't even remember what order it was in - as I could convince myself each was a good pick for my backup rb. WIth Jackson, I have to hope his preseason injury (broken bone in his hand) is not something that lingers or impacts his ability to hang on to the ball (I realize now how optimistic that thought is... but, I guess we'll see.)

9.05 Ray Lewis, LB, Bal
Setup a queue for Harris, Lewis and London Fletcher. Wanted a top LB who picks up a lot of tackles. I know Lewis is getting up there in age, but he still knows how to rack up tackles. Plus he's a pretty fun player to watch as he always seems to be one step ahead of the offense.

10.10 London Fletcher, LB, Was
I took what I thought at the time was a bit of a risk here. Really wanted to get a team d. But couldn't decide between 3 (ravens, steelers, eagles). I'll take a chance that not all three are taken by the three managers picking after me and will grab Fletcher whom I had considered last time around when I went with the other old timer Ray Lewis.

To overcome the MFL text message limitation that does not send notifications of queued picks, I have written an independent routine to do this.

The system will check on draft results every 10 minutes. If there have been any new picks, a separate message will be sent for each pick. The message can go to an email address, or to a cell phone as a text message. The text will simply say something of this format:
15.09(Guru) Huggins, Kareem TBB RB [Queue] -Next: Klingons
If it goes to an email address, that text will be in the subject line, and the body of the email will be blank.

If a pick was made from a queue, that will be noted.
If a team name is longer than 12 characters, then it will be truncated after the 12th
The email will come from RIFCAAA1@rotoguru1.com

Note: because the pick appears in the subject line, I actually like this better than the email sent from MFL - since I don't have to open the email to see what the pick(s) were.

If you want to be included on this, send me (to davehall@rotoguru2.com) your league and your email address or your cell# (and cell carrier). It's live!

11.02 Dexter McCluster, Wildcat, KC

There's a lot of hype surrounding McCluster so I was a little surprised he was still around. He can do a little of everything. I think a lot of his potential lies in the return game. As of now it looks like he's #2 there but he'll definitely get a shot at a few returns this year. He's a high risk high reward guy. I remember taking Desean Jackson his rookie year right around this pick. Hoping to get a similar return with McCluster.

12.13 Stephen Tulloch, LB, TEN

Might've been a little early for Tulloch but I really wanted him. With Bullock gone I see him improving on his numbers last year. Seems like a really safe IDP pick which is usually the route I take with IDP guys.

13.02 Toby Gerhart, RB, MIN

Pure handcuff for AP. I hate taking him this early but I was afraid of someone cherry picking him away. Gerhart isn't a sucky handcuff either. If AP goes out I can confidently start Gerhart knowing he should be up stud like numbers.

14.13 Oshimongo Atogwe, DB, STL

Stl will be playing a lot of defense this year. Always a good thing for IDP's. Atogwe had a down year as far as turnovers go. Atogwe is way to good of ball hawk to not get more than 2 INT's this year. He's also a decent candidate to take 1 to the house. I actually was deciding between him and Roman Harper who I got a few rounds later.

15.02 Matt Cassel, KC, QB

I love this pick. KC has started turning things around and Cassel has some decent options to throw to. He's shown if given the o llne and receivers he can perform. With McCluster and Charles he can get a lot of yards via swing passes or short outlets which is a huge plus. Regardless, he's mainly just a bye week fill in and somebody that won't completely f me if Schaub goes down.

6.02 Donald Drive GBP WR
I need a WR, once again Aging Vet that can still play and in a pass happy offense he can still put up numbers. I was hoping for Hester-I believe he will be running some wildcat for the bears. Overall I was happy to get Driver.

7.11 Bush, Michael OAK, RB
WR’s were flying off the board, I made back to back picks at WR and was hoping for another one. I was hoping for Floyd, Jackson or Moss. I went with Bush because I think he has a very high upside, I don’t believe McFadden can stay healthy and bush will has put up very good numbers that last two years and hasn’t had qb. I hope I don’t regret passing on Maclin.

8.02 Holmes, Santonio Jet, WR
This pick also played a big part of why I passed on Maclin. I think Holmes will be the Jets go to WR, once he comes off of his suspension. I know he is a head case, but maybe a change of scenery will help him reach his potential. I thought about some LB’s, but passed since I can get similar numbers later.

I would do more, but I don't know who I picked next anymore.

11.14 Derrick Mason, WR, BAL

I didn't see anyone leaping off the board at me screaming value, so I decided to grab a solid WR4 that I can feel comfortable plugging in and getting 5-10 points. He has a bit of upside with the growth of Flacco and Rice along with Boldin getting all the attention. Maybe he ends the year with WR2 numbers, maybe not.

12.01 Vince Young, QB, TEN

I won back-to-back championships in a tough league a decade ago picking up the Titans QB in the middle rounds while loading up at other spots. While VY is no Steve McNair, I think this proves two things:

1. I'm old.
2. You don't need an all-world QB to win your league.

Vince should make a fine pairing with McNabb and as long as he avoids mistakes, he should be solid.

13.14 Kenny Britt, WR, TEN

Britt narrowly edged out Tampa's Mike Williams in the "which #1 WR on a team that can't pass" race because he has at least shown he can play in the NFL. I figure he will show his true colors early and be a steal or a cut, and I'm OK with either outcome.

14.01 Yeremiah Bell, DB, MIA

My top DB was still on the board so it was a good time to get another advantage on my opponents each week. Bell is a tackle machine and should give me consistent scoring here. I'm well on my way to my 50PPG goal for my IDPs.

15.14 Patriots Defense, DT, NE

I have been the loudest proponent of "don't worry about team defense because you can't predict them". So let me explain myself here:
- I didn't see value at any other positions
- DT was a sore spot for me last year so I was more open to spending an earlier pick
- NE's schedule during the playoff weeks is @CHI, GB, @BUF. 3 good shots at terrible weather and Buffalo in week 16 looks like a great matchup.
- The problem with not picking your first defense until late is that you can't grab your SECOND defense until even later, and I think 2 spots will give me much more matchup flexibility.

7.10 Bryant, Dez DAL WR Should be a big factor in a high powered offense - even if he is a rookie WR. Jerry has to keep trying to show he is a football genious and Roy Williams ain't so great.

8.05 Brown, Donald IND RB Rough rookie campaign but should be a bigger part of the offense this year - if he learned how to pass block

9.10 Aromashodu, Devin CHI WR All in on the sleeper hype...in Martz we trust.

10.05 Miller, Heath PIT TE Was hoping the exposed Viking TE would fall to me - Miller was a significant target last year and maybe he can find the end zone some this year

RE: 12.01 I had McNair on a team that won the championship one year, and I am in no way old (23 in fact) but I've been doing the fantasy football thing since my parents got internet 9 years ago, so I'm aged.

RE: Rationales and draft.
Draft: We've slowed down a little which is too be expected. These are the picks that make and break championships. As long as we finish by the end of next week (hahahaha) we'll be fine. I've got my queue set for the rest of the draft because I know I'll be in and out all weekend. Hopefully I'll be more in than out, but I'll have my cell phone and you all have my e-mail which will go to my phone.

Rationales: As you can tell I started doing the 6-10's in the thread and then I got sidetracked by work and stuff. They'll get put in this weekend, but if someone wants to do them for me they are more than welcome to! :D It's really easy if you put the formatting in an excel spreadsheet and copy and paste :P

At this point in the draft I don't think it'd really change my strategy to get 3 picks in a row. I'd probably still take the next 3 guys on my list, if I had them spread out over 3 rounds... Maybe that shows my flawed draft strategy, but right now I'm just picking the best player on my list that will work as a backup.

6.06 Reggie Bush, RB NO
He won't be the starter, but NO should prioritize getting him enough touches to justify his selection here. I considered a QB here, but there seemed to be enough comparable ones on the board that I could wait another round.

7.09 Eli Manning, QB NYG
The QBs I was hoping might sneak through to this spot were picked pretty well clean just after I picked in Rd 6, but Eli will do. Eli was top 10 in Yds and TDs last year. No reason he can't repeat that this season. I had also considered Dez Bryant, who went next.

8.06 Cadillac Williams, RB TB
I expected the LBs to start going this round, but I felt Cadillac, as a starting RB (no matter how awful this O might be) was a good value here. Would've handcuffed D Brown here if he were available.

9.09 Karlos Dansby, LB Mia
I have an affinity for Dansby. I drafted him a few years back never having watched him play, but I became a fan. He's a playmaker. Hopefully his new surroundings will agree with him. Also considered a number of other LBs.

10.06 49ers Team Defense
Never thought I would be targetting the 49ers defense, but have you seen their schedule? I decided to get a defense earlier this season. In past years I scrape from the bottom of the barrel based on matchups. Maybe I was crazy not to take one of the "big names". Several were available.

11.09 Thomas Jones, RB KC
I missed out on Addai's handcuff, but got Charles's here. It's debatable which one of my top RBs I'm most concerned about (sharing time, injury, age, etc). I grabbed Jones as they continued to beat it into my head that he's at the top of the depth chart. Hopefully Charles earns the majority of carries and Jones is "just" a handcuff.

12.06 Tyvon Branch, DB Oak
Wanted to pick a top DB here as they were still available for the most part. Nothing too exciting about this pick. Maybe I should've grabbed a WR, as I am sorely lacking there.

13.09 Nate Burleson, WR Det
I had Gaffney on my radar a few rounds earlier, but I kept putting him off until he was gone at this spot. I could really wait no longer for a WR, so I debated between Britt and Burleson here. Britt has gobs of potential, but will he get enough playing time? Burleson has defenses shading toward CJ, but CJ will get his....will there be enough O w/ a young QB and rookie RB? These questions bounced around in my head over and over again.

14.06 Julius Peppers DE Chi
The weirdest thing here, my top considerations were 3 Bears IDPs. If Manning returns kicks extensively, he's a steal here. Peppers should be an elite DE, and Urlacher is a former stud w/ injury risks. Ultimately I went with Peppers because there was too much question about the other two.

15.09 Laurence Timmons, LB Pit
Timmons was on my team last year. With another year as a starter, and injury issues behind him, I expect him to only get better. The Steeler LBs are all good IDPs again this year. Hopefully there are enough plays to go around. I was considering a backup QB in this round. I liked Alex Smith (that schedule looks good!) but he was long gone. I liked Stafford, but Eli's trouble spots didn't matchup well with Stafford. So I decided to wait it out.

16.01 Kareem Huggins, RB, TB

Huggins has looked great in the preseason and is a Cadillac injury away from a starting role. He's definitely a lottery ticket but he's gotten a lot of attention lately so I didn't want to let him sit too much longer.

17.14 Stephen Cooper, LB, SD

Cooper looked like a good value here and I expect him to deliver LB2 value in the LB3 slot. Plus his bye fits well with my LBs.

18.01 Bengals Defense, DT, CIN

Cincy was the highest defense on my board and was a good fit with my other D. Art offered me a trade shortly thereafter to improve my late round pick and I wasn't really that wedded to Cincy versus other defenses still available.

19.14 Quintin Mikell, DB, PHI

I had Mikell projected to score better than any other IDP on the board, and I like having a bit more flexibility with who I start based on matchups once we get into the season. Plus his bye was different than my other IDPs.

20.01 Panthers Defense, DT, CAR

This defense being available made it much easier to trade Cincy. They have several excellent players that can make big plays and could prove to be a top defense.

20.02 Matt Hasselbeck, QB, SEA

Since both McNabb and VY have the same bye, I knew I'd either need to trade 1 or get another QB to start. Hasselbeck plays the Giants that week, and I could see him having to put it up a lot to keep it close. He's also got the Rams twice and the AFC West so he could actually be my top QB a few other weeks too if he stays healthy.

21.13 Neil Rackers, PK, HOU

Rackers hits all the key points on my kicker checklist:
- he's been a top guy over a full year before
- offense is powerful
- should generally be in good weather for most games
- no establish goal line back

I had him #3 on my board and another reason for my trade with Art was so I could grab everyone else I HAD to have before the last round fliers. His bye is in week 7 so there won't be a lot of competition that week for kickers as likely only 2 others with byes that week will be drafted.

22.14 Aaron Hernandez, TE, NE

I was seriously second-guessing myself that I was letting him slide this far. He went in round 17 in the RIFC to the Gates owner, and he was someone I had on my board as a key player to get late.

Early reports are that he will be on the field a lot and free to roam versus doing a ton of blocking. I think he'll be in the groove by week 10 and could make for excellent trade sweetener since he probably won't crack my lineup otherwise. Plus, I should know early if I'm wrong and can drop him without looking back.

22.01 Mike Thomas, WR, JAX

I kept trying to ignore the fact that the WR2 for the Jags was still on the board as I feel pretty good with my WR depth. However, needing only a DL and not really caring who I got, I had room for one more elective. Plus, he also returns a decent number of kicks.

He was picked in round 14 in the RIFC and round 13 in the other AAA league, so this seems almost criminal. Let's be blunt - Jacksonville's passing game is lousy at best, but Mike Thomas as the 72nd WR picked? That's nuts. Again if I'm wrong, I can cut him with impunity.

24.01 Cliff Avril, DL, DET

DL scoring and the fact we only start one of them means this position is practically worthless. I took Mario Williams fairly early last year and while he was a good performer, it didn't really matter. The nice thing about Cliff is that if he were to play well, his bye fits well with my other IDPs.

In fact, all 6 of my IDPs have a different bye week. While I'm likely to make a lot of moves here, in theory I could use only 1 bench spot between weeks 4 and 10 and start a full IDP lineup every week. This makes it that much easier to cover injuries and other byes. While it's not a must for my teams, it is a nice bonus.

MFL has a "draft recap" where they give draft grades. It's interesting but does need work as I don't think one of their main draft grading criteria (ADP) includes return yards. Also, they penalize teams for not being able to field a full lineup every week (due to the bye weeks of defenses and kickers if one did not draft a backup).

I set my autopick for 24.13. Not sure what happened but I definitely had like 7 DL on my queue. Same thing happened with 23.02. Might've been user error for 23.02 since I had set up 4 rounds in like 10 minutes super early Saturday morning but I definitely set my picks correctly for 24.13.

To time out on the next to last pick doesn't show a lot of respect for those who drafted diligently for 23.12 picks.

We were on round 17 on Friday. Bitching at someone for timing out in round 24 on Sunday is kinda lame. I've been very diligent about checking drafts but this weekend has been nonstop for me. I set up queues when I could but I'm not going to put my life on hold so we can finish 9 days early instead of 8.

My final 14 rationales.

11.07 Harrison, James PIT LB
I was looking for a second IDP player and decided to go after an elite pass rushing LBer. In the past 3 seasons Harrison has averaged double digit sacks to go along with ~6 forced fumbles and 70 tackles. Every projection I've seen has given him the same as his 3 year average, and since the Pittsburgh O may struggle with the loss of their #1 WR, a RB and their QB for 6 games, the defense may be on the field more often giving Harrison an uptick in stats. This give me (according to my projections) 2 top 10 LBs, so yeah!!!

12.08 Henne, Chad MIA QB
Seems like the 12th round was a good time to grab him. His schedule matches up perfectly with Kolb's. If you look at the week by week projections these two combined would score just as much as a top 5 QB (It actually works out to more than Brady). If both of these guys play well against the weaker pass defenses on their schedule then it'll be just as good as having spent a 2nd round pick on a QB, and I don't think you can beat that when you're spending a 6 and 12th rounder. I was getting a little nervous waiting on him since no QBs were going off the board, and his ADP is in the 10th round. Thanks for letting me have him here! :)

13.07 Barnett, Nick GBP LB
In this league it's tough to win without 3 LBs who will preform with 8-9 points a week. Barnett is one of those guys who can get 100 total tackles and a couple sacks, and in the 13th round you can't go wrong with any player that can put up 8 points a game.

14.08 Berry, Eric KCC S
I needed a DB now, and I wanted one of the upper tier guys. When I get the feeling for IDPs, nothing else seems to get drafted, regardless of my team needs. This kid was a monster in college, and he's now the highest paid safety in NFL history (kind of nuts since he hasn't seen the field yet). I expect big things in years to come from him, and I doubt I can pick him up this late in an RIFC draft ever again.

15.07 Smith, Will NOS DE
Nana, Na, Na, Nanana! Gettin' jiggy with it!
I don't think I've ever actually drafted Smith in a league before, even though he's always pretty high up on my boards. Why not take a 15th round pick on one of the top 5 DLs in the game. 10 sacks, 45 tackles, and a FF or 2 would be nice in this round.

16.08 Washington, Nate TEN WR
Looking at my roster I have 2 WRs and 1 TE who have the possibility of playing in weeks 1, 2, and 3. We start 3 WRs and 1 TE or 2 WRs and 2 TE, so I needed to fill that forth spot. Washington does this, and I think with UNDRAFTED QB starting to look better and mature more, that Washington will see some more passes come his way. I hope my line up only has to see him put stats up for the first 3 weeks and then the occasional bye week, but I wouldn't be too sure of anything with the way my WRs are working out.

17.07 Colts, Indianapolis IND Def
Homer pick. I love me some Colts, and although I love watching their offense I hate watching them when I have a fantasy player from them. I had Reggie Wayne one year and I got mad every time Dallas Clark or Addai would score. I had Addai one year and I got angry when he wouldn't run the ball enough or didn't score. It makes watching games tough. So I decided to try the defense on for size. When the Colts win, their defense plays well. Here's some other stats that actually make them a good fantasy D.

Freeney and Mathis are beasts who will always get at least 1 sack a game. Those sacks often turn into fumbles, so they are doublely good. Their secondary doesn't allow for a big play very often, and they definately don't allow many touchdowns. They set a record 2 years ago for least amount of passing TDs allowed, and last year they were 2 or 3 off of that record. Their run defense is greatly improved with UNDRAFTED SAFETY back from injury and SHOULD REMAIN UNDRAFTED DTs added to the rosters. 300 pounders are 300 pounders and tough for O-Lines to stop and even tougher for RBs to run through. They also still have VY and the Titans and the Jaguars offenses on their schedule for 2 games each. Those aren't exactly teams to be scared of fantasy-wise.

18.08 Boss, Kevin NYG TE
I like his matchups for my recievers and Cooley's bye weeks. He's a productive TE and Eli's maturing. Maybe he'll learn from big brother and start throwing to the TE more? Honestly he's just got some really good matchups that line up perfectly for my team, so I hope he can produce in the weeks he should, and then he can suck it up on my bench when I don't need him.

19.07 Goff, Jonathan NYG LB
He appears to have won the MLB job over Keith Bulluck. If he remains the starting MLB for the Giants then he should be able to put up 100 total tacklesor more, with the possibility of a sack and INT or 2. Here's hoping he keeps the job.

20.08 Mathis, Robert IND DE
A solid guy who will sack the QB cause some Forced Fumbles, and just wreck havoc for offenses. Let's hope he can wreck havoc on my fantasy opponents, but he's a back up who will have to play in bad matchups for when Will Smith won't be jiggy.

21.07 Landry, LaRon WAS S
This guy has been a stallwart for years. He's put up an average of 5.5 pts/game in our format, and he's only 25 and getting better. And guess what? His bye week is different from every single one of my IDPs, so he'll be able to fill in for all my LBs and Berry at DB. Can't be too upset at that kind of a pick.

22.08 Faulk, Kevin NEP RB
I needed a RB, I didn't trust anyone else who was out there. Faulk catches passes in a pass happy offense. Should any of my 3 RBs go down and he needs to fill in then i'm kind of screwed don't you think? Not if any of the RBs in front of him on the Pats depth chart go down. You think a fragile Freddie or china bowl Maroney stay healthy all year? I don't.

23.07 Raiders, Oakland OAK Def
This defense hasn't been as bad as the Oakland team as a whole, so I really think they get a bad repuation. They have also improved with some draft picks and FA signings who weren't drafted. They also play a weak schedule when the Colts play teams like the Patriots, Texans, and San Diego.

24.08 Tynes, Lawrence NYG PK
A kicker is a kicker is a kicker. I'm glad to see a top 10 kicker still available in the last round. Thanks for being smart people!

16.06 Jason Campbell, QB Oak
I decided that I had better get a backup QB. I hope not to use him, but he could surprise this year.

17.09 Laurent Robinson, WR StL
While I was unavailable to make my pick Thursday night, Donnie Avery went down with a major knee injury. I was still needing some WR help, so I went ahead and took Robinson as the new "#1 target" for the Rams.

18.06 Adrian Wilson, DB Ari
I have been slacking on the IDPs, so I'm happy to get a top DB here. He's not far removed from being a top 2-3 DB in this league.

19.09 Jeremy Shockey, TE NOS
I figure I might as well have a backup TE here. I wasn't really thinking about TE much since taking Gonzalez, and I really needed more IDP. I still saw a lot of comparable value at IDP, so I went ahead and grabbed Shockey.

20.06 Larry Johnson, RB WAS
While I was up for this pick, Desean Jackson went down with injury. Charles came up gimpy as well, as did Portis. I was all over the place with this pick. I waited until after the postgame press conference to hear that DJ was going to be OK. I decided to roll the dice on LJ. He may not even make the team. He may get a sizable role if(when?!) Portis misses time. This could be my first cut.

21.09 Louis Murphy, WR Oak
Another #1 from a bad team. I am a bit surprised he hasn't been picked yet. I am still weak at WR 3/4/?, so I decided to roll the dice again. I still need some IDP help. This will have to wait.

22.06 Falcons TM Defense
I need another IDP and a K for sure w/ 3 picks to go. I looked at the available Team Defenses and Atl matches up pretty well with SFs weak spots. I decided Atl would be less likely to be around w/ my next pick than a number of IDPs I was looking at, so I went with them.

23.09 Chris Carr, DB Bal
I think he will be a starting CB (at least temporarily). I think he will return punts. Hopefully this pick works out OK.Nothing too exciting, but plenty of options on the waiver wire.

24.06 Shayne Graham, K Bal
There's a Kicker battle in Baltimore. The winner of this should produce decently now that the offense is improved. Hopefully Graham wins.

here are a few rationales i'll try to finish the rest waaay later today.

6.09 Darren Sproles, RB, SD
As big of a man crush as I have on F. Jones he kind of burned me last year. Sproles was the 11th ranked RB in total points last year. Some of that I’m sure was due to the decline in production of LT. Sproles should still see a fair amount of touches since Mathews is a rookie and the Chargers might try and help him stay fresh in a 16 game schedule. He should also produce a nice 1500 return yards with a TD or 2.

7.06 Santana, Moss, WR, WAS
I had hoped Floyd or TO would have made it back to me. Moss is at the age where you are going to get what you get from him. He will get close to 1000 yards and 5-7 TD’s. That’s not bad production from your #3 WR. Maybe with McNabb as his QB he can reach the high end of his projected totals.

8.09 Jonathan Vilma, LB, NO
He is the ILB of an aggressive Mike Williams defense. They are going to get to the QB, force turnovers, and get INT’s. Vilma has been a key part of the D since he came from the Jets. Over the last two seasons Vilma has averaged 93takles, 29 assists, two INTs, and nine PDs per year. In preseason game 3 he left early with a groin strain hopefully this wont be a problem throughout the year.

9.06 Zach, Miller, TE, OAK
I would have taken my second LB if Harris or Lewis had made it back to me. Decided to go with a TE instead which seems to have been a good idea since Daniels, Shiancoe, H. Miller, and Cooley all went before my next pick. He was top 10 in yards and receptions for TE,s last year with the released “undrafted”. With Campbell in town now things are really looking good for Zach.

10.09 DeMeco Ryans, LB, HOU
I usually don’t draft WR’s well so I try and make up for it in LB’s. Ryans is a three-down LB that never leaves the field when the defense plays. He should get well over a 100 tackles on the season.

11.06 Lee Evans, WR, BUF
If Evans could get some improvement from his QB’s he could return to his 82 reception 8 TD season he had in 2006. If not he will be what he is, my 4th WR.

12.09 Charles Woodson, DB, GB
I had planed on taking only one DB. I wanted one with a late round bye and someone who would provide stats in all the DB categories. Since moving to GB he has been very consistent.

13.06 Geno Hayes, LB, TB
Hayes is a guy whose play improved in the second half of last season. In games 9-16, Hayes had 51 tackles, 3 sacks, and 2 INTs. He also plays the fantasy-happy WLB. The improvements to TB’s defensive line should also help him get to the ball better.

14.09 Terrell Suggs, DE, BAL
I’m looking for a bounce back season from Suggs. It is said he has lost 15 pounds and appears focused and continues to stand out during camp. I need him to return to his double digit sack days. I also like that his bye is week 8 so I don’t have to worry about a backup DE for awhile.

15.06 New Orleans Saints, NOS, Def
I once again took another position with a late round bye so I don’t necessarily have to carry a back up out of the gate. Not sure if the Saints can

9.3 Visanthe Shiancoe, TE, Min
I made this pick right after the news about Sidney Rice. I know Bernard was picked a little bit before me, but Visanthe hwas been a red zone favorite of Farve. He might make my line up, depending on what my Wr'S DO.

10.2 Steve Breaston, WR, AZ
In hindsight this pick might have been a little reach with the Qb in AZ a little up in the air. I like Breaston because I hope he will still get KR duties, I think that gives him so huge added value if he gets the duties.

11.11 Stewart Bradley Phi, MLB
LB's were flying off the board and I wish I would have taken one last round. I am a huge Bradley fan, he played for Huskers and was a major stud 2 years ago, and blew out his knee last year in training camp. I also made the pick with my heart, since I personally know him.

Anthony Gonzalez, WR Indy
He was the #2 WR for Indy until he got hurt. I was expecting big things from him last year, so maybe he can put it together this year. I flyer later in the draft at the position I am worried about.

James Jones, WR, GB
Antoher WR that has a huge upside and kind of a handcuff for Driver. He can also be a deep threat for Rodgers. Cold be a wasted pick, but with GB throwing a ton, could make an impact. Kind of wish I would have taken a LB.

Kevin Walter, WR, HOU
Another WR2 that could be huge. He could also be a bust, but late in the draft. Maybe a IDP would have been better.

Mario Williams, DE HOU
I was trying to fill positions and I like Mario, I also got burned last year by never having a decnet DL, maybe I made the pick too early. I need his sacks.

Demarcus Ware, LB, DAL
I was very happy he slide so far. He did have a down year last year, but has a huge upside. He should pile up the the TACK. I was getting worried about LB, because they were flying off the board.

Chad Greenway, LB, MIN
I had to go with another LB, solid defense and solid LB. He should but decent numbers.

Aaron Curry, LB, SEA
Younger LB on a horrible team in my opinion. SEA DEF will be on the field a good amount of time. Has the ability to make tack.

Eric Weddle, S, SD
One of my favorite players. He is not a huge hitter, but he will get tack. Maybe the pick was a little early, but I wanted him on my team.

Louis Delmas, S, DET
The DEF will be on the field a good amount of time. All of the good LB's were gone.

Jairus Byrd, S, BUF
Not a huge fan, but bad team and should be on the field, hopefully he can increase his TACK.

San Diego DEF
I need to get a DEF. Middle of the pack DEF with some upside, since the division is so bad

Cincy DEF
I traded to get this defense. I really didn't give up much this late in the draft. They were my sleeper DEF one reason why I waited so long to pick up a defense. I think CINCY DEF could finish in the top 5 or at least score in the top 5 on a regulart basis.

I am worried about Shone Green, Forte. My biggest regret was my mistake taking Forte when A. Foster was still available. I also hope I don't regret taking Dallas Clark where I did, I passed on Steve Smith. I also never took a backup QB, I need my IDP starters and all of the QB's were gone. Brees doesn't have a bye until week 10. I will need to figure something out by then for a week as long as Brees doesn't get hurt and if he does I am screwed.

11.12 Washington, Leon SEA RB
With only 2 RBs at the time and both with some question marks, felt I need to try to find somebody.
So, why not a 3rd RB with a question mark.
Seriously though, does appear that he will be the starter for Seattle, and so hoping that I'll will get enough value from him as the 152nd pick.

12.03 Massaquoi, Mohamed CLE WR
He was the top WR on my board for this pick.
Was a case of I still needed to cover the WR/TE flex slot and thought I would take a chance.
On average, I do expect 6-8 points per game from him.
Nothing spectacular, but keeps adding to the total.

13.12 Hawthorne, David SEA LB
Wasn't quite sure where I was going with this pick, but with one of the top LBs on my board still available, and the 3 flex slots which I feel should be filled with LBs whenever possible, this really did become a no brainer.
Only time will tell, but never would have thought I'd get a Tier 1 LB with the 180th pick.

14.03 Cardinals, Arizona ARI Def
Yeh, might be early, but this was the only defense from a SOS schedule that fit in perfectly with my starting Defense.
So, wasn't willing to wait and see them go to somebody else.
And any way, isn't that what the whole draft is about.
Taking calculated risks based on your GUT.

15.12 Gregg, Kelly BAL DL
In hindsight, I hate this pick.
DLs just don't bring a lot to the table in our scoring format, and I just don't know why I didn't wait.
Part of the fall-out of using queues in this format and setting up positions for each round I guess.

16.03 Naanee, Legedu SDC WR
Hard to have enough WRs in this format, and he has a chance of having a fairly good season if Vincent Jackson leave San Diego, or sets out the season as he claims.
Versatile WR who can be used in a lot of different ways, and Rivers just seems to find ways to get the ball to him.

17.12 Marshall, Richard CAR DB
Still needed to fill the DB slot.
This was a Tier 2 DB still out there, so decided I would fill this round with a DB and that was all that was in my Queue, but can't remember if he was number 1 or not.

18.03 Anderson, James CAR LB
Another LB, top of the list and didn't see anybody else I cared for.

19.12 Lewis, Marcedes JAX TE
Back-up TE or possible starter in WR/TE Flex slot.
Of course he is now on the injured list, so not sure how long he will be here.

20.03 Williams, Demorrio KCC LB
Yeh, I know, another LB.
Too much scotch me thinks.

21.12 Ivory, Christopher NOS RB
Late in the draft and time to take some flyers.
Might be another case of one to leave early, but looked pretty good in the Preseason game, and is probably the #3 RB for the Saints right now.

22.03 Torain, Ryan WAS RB
Actually, should have taken him in the 21st round.
Looks like he is either the #2 / #3 for the Redskins.
And right now, that means #1 / #2.
Hopefully a diamond in the rough.

23.12 Lawson, Manny SFO LB
Another LB, but could end up as my top scorer at the position.
Really liked by the 49ers, and talk is that he could become the starting OLB.
Time will tell.

24.03 Gould, Robbie CHI PK
Kicker - Last Round - Doesn't matter.
He's within about 1.5 points avg per game of the #1 Kicker, who was taken in round #20, and the first kicker off the board was 19.01.
5 rounds later and if anybody in between works out, was well worth the wait.

Here's some of my outstanding (as in overdue) rationales:

11.05 Ravens, Baltimore BAL Def
I thought last time around it was time to get a defense, but I couldn't decide between the Steelers, Ravens, and Eagles. Went ahead and waited as I coldn't decide. 9 picks later, and I still had the same choice. I ended up going with the Ravens - they tend to be up there every year, and maybe aren't as dependent on a single player like the Steelers showed they were with Polamalu last year.

12.10 Maroney, Laurence NEP RB With Belichick, you never know for sure what he's going to do, so this is a fairly high-risk, high-reward pick. Maroney could be the primary back or he could be riding the pine, but since I already had some uncertainty in my first back-up RB, I thought it was worth it to pick up another potential starter at this point.

13.05 Gaffney, Jabar DEN WR I've been burned with injuries in the past, so I figured it was worth it to stock up on solid skill position players before rounding out my starting defensive players. With Brandon Marshall gone, someone needs to step up, and it may just be Gaffney. When researching him, I saw his line for the last game of the 2009 season: 14 catches and 213 yards. Sold. Then in the second preseason game he had 6 catches and 98 yards. Sold again.

14.10 Olsen, Greg CHI TE
There's a concern out there in fantasy circles that with Mike Marz at the helm, that Olsen won't be used as much. That's probably why he's available in the 14th round. But, it seems he's had his share of looks in the preseason and I've got no problem with him as my reserve TE.

15.05 Brackett, Gary IND LB As a Colts' season ticket holder, I've got to get some Indy players on my team. And, Brackett is a solid source of tackles. He's in the same mold as Ray Lewis (another of my LB's) in that he's the QB of the defense and has an inate ability to sniff out plays.

16.10 Arenas, Javier KCC CB
DB's that return kicks have always been taken off the board early in RIFC drafts. This trend has declined over the past couple of years as managers have been burned as the returners lost their jobs or were hurt. But, I like what I've heard about Arenas (mainly seeing his name near the top of best kick/punt returners), I thought I would go for it here.

17.05 Sanchez, Mark NYJ QB
While rounding out my rb/wr/te backups I missed out on some of the top available QB 's. Before all the top starters were gone, I wanted to get Sanchez. Though I don't think I'll ever start him in place of Rivers, Sanchez is a decent insurance policy.

18.10 Chambers, Chris KCC WR
Looking at best available at this late stage of the draft, Chambers stood out. He put up decent numbers late last year in KC, and Cassel will need more weapons than just Bowe, so he should be a good fill-in for bye-weeks or in case of injury.

11.10 Pittsburgh Steelers Def Had designs on taking Thomas Jones but he was taken with the pick just prior. Perhaps still too early for a defense and perhaps still too early for the Pittsburgh defense but with the million dollar hair man back (until the next knee injury) and continued development from the young (relatively) linebackers I am expecting big things

12.05 LaMarr Woodley Pit LB Speaking of which…big sack totals last year…will score just fine if he approaches the same…let alone improves….

13.10 Jason Snelling Atl RB Really had my eye on both Barnett and Tuck with this pick…then became a ‘victim’ of my predraft list which I had not paid enough attention to. Is it a bad thing to hope that Turner gets hurt? Snelling was productive in spots last year – maybe he will get a couple of shots during the season – of course he will likely be on my bench during the productive times…but still….

14.05 Bernard Scott Cin RB Continuing to load up on running backs who may be useful or may do nothing. Productive runner who again may need an injury to become truly fantasy viable. As with Snelling, I am fairly certain he will be on my bench when he scores big.

15.10 Brian Orakpo Was LB Wanted Timmons but was once again foiled by the pick just prior. That being said…with the move to a 3-4, Orakpo is set up to potentially put up big sack totals which plays well in this format.

16.05 Mike Williams WR A likely reach for a rookie wide receiver potentially on a bad offensive team. Is going to start and I am assuming Tampa will occasionally try to throw to someone…we shall see….

17.10 Derek Anderson Ari QB Hopefully starting week 10 as a bye week fill-in for Rodgers. If I have to play him more than that, then you can reach me next season in AA.

18.05 James Farrier Pit LB Tackles and some sacks.

19.10 Fred Taylor, NE, RB Who knows. See also Jason Snelling and Bernard Scott.

20.05 David Akers, PHI, K Solid kicker who should get plenty of opportunities.

21.10 Tamba Hall, KC, LB Sack that quarterback!

22.05 Antoine Winfield, Min, DB 2 seasons ago I seemed to be on the losing end of match-ups where Antoine seemingly single-handedly defeated me. Had him on my teams last year to avoid such scenarios and he did nothing for me and was often hurt. Will see which one I get this season.

23.10 Cleveland Browns, Def Really have no idea what I was thinking here – need a defense for week 5 but not sure the Browns against the Falcons was the way to go – ah well – will drop them after unless they are outscoring Pittsburgh which may cause me to hold…and which may be a sign that the end is near….

24.05 Asante Samuel Phi DB As with any other round 24 pick, the key to my entire season.

Finished!

16.09 Jermaine Gresham, TE, CIN
Gresham is my upside-oriented backup. The main question here is this: Will the Bengals actually use him frequently enough? I think he could have a nice roll in this offense. After Batman and Robin the #3 WR is a question mark so Gresham could fill that void.

17.06 Tashard Choice, RB, DAL
Only a role player here as the #3 guy but nice upside if Barber or Jones misses time.

18.09 Lance Moore, WR, NO
Moore is nice player from the slot in a high who is having a good camp. He had a good 2008 season but was injured most of last year. Could have a bounce back season or be my first cut.

19.06 Kyle Orton, QB, DEN
Hopefully I will only need him for week 5 (Brady’s bye week.) I can’t imagine he will have lost starting job by then. He actually had ok numbers in 2009 but with Marshall gone the other WR’s will have to step up.

20.09 Sean Weatherspoon, LB, ATL
Weatherspoon started at SLB for the second straight week and had 4 solos. Could switch over to WLB if need due to injury. He has some nice upside as a rookie who could really turn it on later in the season.

21.06 Rob Bironas, PK, TEN
Kickers were coming off the board so I figured I need to get a decent one be fore it was too late. Bironas seems to always get 30+ attempts and particularly good on the long one so should be very solid.

22.09 Jameel, McClain, LB, BAL
I read that he will start at RILB next to Ray Lewis. If he continues to be the starter he could be a nice late round pick.

23.06 Leodis McKelvin, DB, BUF
I hadn’t really planned on taking another DB. Decided to take a shot on McKelvin’s return duties and see how that would work out for me.

24.09 Sammy Morris, RB, NE
Most important pick of the draft? I’m sure Morris will play and contribute the maddening thing will be when and how much. I’m not sure if he will be worth the headache.

16.13 Heyward-Bey, Darrius OAK WR

Was looking for a high upside WR. Probably not the best value but I have a feeling oakland is going to try to get him more targets this year.

17.02 Harper, Roman NOS S

When I picked Atogwe back in round 14 Harper was the other guy on my list. He's a big tackle guy who was playing out of position for part of last year. I needed another IDP and usually at this point most of the linebackers are gambles and same with the DB's. Harper should produce consistent totals since he tackles more than your average DB

18.13 Titans, Tennessee TEN Def

They looked like one of the best D's left. With CJ they should control time of possession and that is very helpful for their D. Slight sentimental pick since they raked for me 2-3 years ago.

19.02 Dolphins, Miami MIA Def

Needed another D to play the match up game with. Dolphins looked like the best of the remaining. really don't know too much about them. Hopefully by guessing pays off.

20.13 Tatupu, Lofa SEA LB

Was injured most of last year so probably slipped through further than he should've. Definitely an injury risk but still should provide solid point totals when healthy. I really didn't see any other LB left that had remotely the point potential of Tatupu.

21.02 Bell, Mike PHI RB

Hoping for a McCoy injury. Even if he's healthy Bell could serve as the goal line guy. Speculative buy at RB which I need since the rest of my RB corp after AP is terrible.

22.13 Weems, Eric ATL WR

KR/PR guy. Might see the occasional snap which will be bonus points. He's basically a bye week filler for a consistent 5-7 points.

23.02 Crosby, Mason GB K

One of the top kickers in the draft. That really doesn't say much but at this point I needed a DL and a kicker. I decided to go with a top kicker and hope one of my DL guys slipped back to me.

24.13 Timer expired

Probably my best pick of the draft.
