I have to admit that without ever playing a game I've gotten great enjoyment out of this entire game. Posts like 233 and 235 are great.
no respect for 205?!?! daaymn. Sweet 'n' Sour may have something to say about that!
Chris Hero is a hot TE prospect I hear.
does he have a link. if he's a free agent, RGB Berzerk might be looking to sign him.

Good idea Weykool. Just a heads up if Ferl the Pearl signs we still have only 2 backup D-linemen. Currently we also have only 3 Corners. I like running a 3-4 or 4-3 as much as the next guy, but we still need to be able to run dime coverage.
Toral and Jackhammers, please accept your contracts. I realize that Ronny Boozer may have taken Larot Pintor out on the town, but they still need to sign.
In regards to our low moral, I think it has to do with 2- 11 player deals last night. The Gurupies and the BJs were busy trading yesturday.

Just be very carefull about this farm team idea. It is something that is a very hot topic at GLB. I wouldn't want us to lose our team, because we got too creative. These are some warnings that have been posted on the forums:
"If you perform a series of trades with the express purpose of depleting one team to build up another, your team could be fined or taken away."
"I will be adding an update to trading that will no longer allow you to trade cash between two teams that you own. It will only allow players to be transferred. This will affect GM's as well - they will not be able to trade cash between two teams if the teams are both owned by the same individual. Yes, there are still ways around it by colluding with other players, but you will run the risk of losing your teams."

Just about to make a 2nd player Kyle. What position would you prefer him to be? (Sounds like DB, or maybe DL...but let me know and I'll build a "specialist"..ie pass-rusher or run-stuffer as desired as a DL or if the DB then either an INT specialist or a Ronnie Lott hard-hitter type.)

Little M - I don't think we'd need to worry about trading between the farm team. We just all get 1 yr contracts for the minor league team, and get promoted in the future if necessary.

I apologize to post 205 and all of the myriad of others in the 800ish posts that have been made in the last week.
Do we have a direction that we are heading in regards to offensive style? I'm not planning on adding to my special talents right any time soon, but it doesn't make sense if half of the line is run specialized and the other half if pass speciallized. Unless we swap out the entire line to capitalize on an opponents weakness. Would a team have enough rosters slots to use that type of strategy?

All you boys need to come on down to our farm this weekend for some strength training and team bonding. We can bail hay and just have a rootin' tootin' good time. Did I mention I have 7 sisters? No Ronny, you can't marry all of them.

RE 240: Thanks for holding off. What I am thinking that we need is a backups on the defensive side of the ball. All 3 locations could use some more, but clearly we need DBs. 2 more (SS and CB) would be ideal. Also a back up RB. We only have 1 HB on the roster, but that can be fixed by getting a CPU guy on the RotoGuru team to come over.
RE 247: JTSerb and I were talking about this. We have somewhat of a run block line. I'll let our Offensive Coordinator and Head Coach decide those things with Quick and the O-line.

Ronnie Boozer was arrested in Oakland Wednesday night along with a small group of the Oakland Plunderers after stealing a car tearing up a strip club near the airport.
He has since been bailed out by Smash Mouth and Ronnie's Mom (Mrs Boozer) who swatted him in the back of the head and put a pen in his hand.
Early this morning it is rumored he turned down all offers from the Oakland Plunderers and signed with one the teams from the Rotoguru franchise

We are not going to trade any players to the main team. We will sign them to 1 year deals and then they can sign to Guru as FA. The important thing will be that they get PT and can level up quicker.

Breaking News: Hearing of Mr. Boozer's arrest last night the RotoGuru Gurupies have cut the troubled linebacker. When asked for comment the GM of the Gurupies said that he didn't want any funny business on his squad and wanted a robotic like team.
Word is that Mr. Boozer has been offered a contract to play for the Indianapolis Blue Jays. The Blue Jays are a team full of characters and are poised to make a run at the USA A #8 League championship.
In other news the Blue Jays are looking for a NEW TEAM NAME. The Name-that-team competition has yet to recieve any entries.

good gawd...make it 26 offers. roflamo
High bid so far, for both:
$725/day with an 8k signing bonus for a 1 yr contract.
Think I might take that offer (same team offering the same for each player) Would give them some "money in the bank" and a yr to develop via practice-playtime.
Thoughts???

Re: 261
I'm probably going to create a 2nd player in a couple of days for RotoGuru JV team. My plan is to not boost until the end of the season. Since I should be able to get plenty of playing time, I will level fairly quickly during the season and maximize the value of my boosts at the end of the season. If you sign with another team, are your guaranteed to get playing time if you don't boost immediately?

Sarge we do need your corner for this year. You'd be the nickle back so you'd see play time. We have 3 backup D-linemen if we play a 3-4, 2 if we play 4-3, so we could survive if he signs elsewhere, but if you are going to sign with a team sign with the developmental Guru team.

re 264...Kyle, I had EVERY intention of signing with your squad when I built the guy. But cripes...I cant see declining and extra several hundred/day and 7k in signing bonus. The 2 defenders would both be FAs next year, and be at LEAST lvl 6 I'd think. (Earn 3 or 4 via play/practice and then boost 3 with Flex Points). With the apparent cost of gear at higher levels, I'm not sure I can "afford" to not "show me my money" when the difference is that much.

Re: 268
Does it make sense to take the extra money and using it to train hard. What is the worst that can happen, the team goes bankrupt and you become a FA?
Would the Rotoguru B team be willing to take you on mid-season? I assume so, but if they aren't fielding a competitive team will the team be making enough money to offer a high enough salary to cover your training costs?

sorry guys, but I took the offer from New Orleans for both. 755/day and an 8k signing bonus for a 1 yr contract followed by FA, is just TOO much to decline as a lvl 1. It puts money in the bank for CERTAIN, to cover future training costs.

RE posts 199 and 201.
They have changed the formula for energy for this season, so no one knows exactly how it will work. You start the season with energy of 100. The maximum energy that you can lose in a game is 40. The maximum you can regain between games is 30, so if you lose 40 in the first game and train on relaxed to regain 30, you will sart the second game at 90. Obviously, if you keep losing more during the games than you are recovering between games, you will keep starting at a lower energy level. The amount that you lose during the game, depends on your stamina and the amount that you play during the game. I think there are also small changes made depending upon what you do on the play (eg: a WR will lose more energy if he runs a deep route and less if he stands there watching a running play).
The key is for the coach to set the roster depth and the sub-out/sub-in perameters to a level where you are not losing more than 30 energy points per game. From what I have read, a ratio of 60/80 worked well last year for teams with a lot of depth and players with decent stamina, but as I said earlier, the formula has changed for season 2. This year will take some guess work at the start and probably some tinkering during the early part of the year to get the ratio right.

Currently I have the energy to sub in and out at 75-90. I want to get everyone as much EXP and playing time as possible. Hopefully that'll keep everyone from losing 40 energy points and we are in the hole after week 1.

To Sarge and anyone else signing with another team for the money. If you dont get the playing time it will be harder for you to level up. The JV team will be offering minimum contracts to take care of any of the training you need AND we are guaranteeing all Guru players the starting gig. If you focus on your stamina you will see more playing time. You can use your experience to level up. Taking a big contract may not be in our/your best interest if you dont play.

re 280...thats understood. For now, the owner "promised" playing time. Just have to see if they honor it. In the meantime, I can afford to train "HARD", and get some extra training benefit from that. As a 1st level, they'll get 100 XP/day of training. SO 10 days, even w/o play time, they'll be 2nd level.
