Big Mac Innis will have a pretty bad schedule soon.
Anyone planning on moving out of him for a while?
Looks like Gonchar or Blake will be a good fit.
Is it worth trading for 3 extra games between 2/24 and 3/10???
It's down the stretch now, so it's time to be aggresive?.

Well, I'm hoping that Thornton gets out of this dip in production...I like using all of my RV at this point and use it as an advantage. So I'll either commit to him, or commit to a cheapie and upgrade somewhere else immediately.

Choosing goalies is something I am not good at, so I plan on riding those 2 guys on the good schedules for now.

I know it seems tough paying 8 mil for Joe right now, but he's still at 45 TSNP/gm for the last 15...and that is certainly not pedestrian for 8 mil, IMO. He'll get it back...and all of the teams that had to go Thornton > Forsberg will miss out on Thornton. I'd also still take Thornton over Modano.

As for Mac, 3 extra games is probaly good enough for me at 30 TSNP/gm which is what I can get, at least.

Amazing fun and value in this game. By far TSN's best game.

I too am going to stick with Thornton, at least until Sakic comes back. Then maybe, Forsberg/Sakic/Lemieux will be an option. In nets, I'm happy with the Belfour/Giguere combo for now. When the Leafs schedule dries up in two weeks I'll look it over. The Leafs have quietly been one of the top teams in the league as of late, no reason to dump the top producing TSNP goalie when he plays a ton. (If anything, Giguere -> Lalime would be the better move IMHO.)

Mac will stay on my team most likely. He really is the only guy who can score like a forward at D. Gonchar and Lidtrom maybe, but Lidstrom hasn't been too impressive this year and Gonchar is slumping. Plus, I still have Gonchar. ;)

I think the 'points differentiation' is down to the wingers we have. Lots of good options, only 4 slots. Gotta make sure we have the right ones...

Sakic probably due back next week. Should be an automatic pick in the Free game . . for some reason he's only priced at $5.8M

Hope Hedjuk's not seriously injured. I have him on all 3 teams and not many trades left.

You Gonchar owners still sitting tight? The guy's tying up major cash with very little production.

Every one should remember that Boston does play 4 games a week for the next 3 weeks and their sked looks pretty easy. I have both Thornton and Murray and will hold on to them for a while yet, even if their production dips down. You can't expect Allstars to produce like Allstars every game.

The deal with Boston and Thornton and Murray is that they are currently playing horribly. Even the Boston papers say so. I moved Thornton to Lemieux yesterday on one team only, but this paid no dividends. I will hold Joe on my other team. While I expect Joe and Boston to improve, the question is when, and how much time we can afford to wait. Given that Lemieux, Forsberg, Sakic, Sundin and Modano are pretty good themselves, it becomes difficult to hold onto a stud center who does not produce for 3+ games.

MacInnis: that 2 in 8 starting on the 24th sure puts pressure on us owners to sell, and 3 extra games from someone like Gonchar or Blake or Lidstrom (if healthy) seem potentially key. I'll likely move Al on the 24h as well.

I dont really see any good alternative (I also have Gonchar & Blake)

Agreed. I was thinking of holding Big Mac, but here's his schedule:

3 days off - 2 in 3 - 1 in 4 - 2 in 2 - 1 in 5 - 2 in 3 - 1 in 4. Stl finally gets a good schedule again on the 20th of March, so I guess its drop him until then. There's just too many holes there to justify keeping him.

My options: (Have Gonchar and Boyle.)

Ozolinish: Back-to-Back against FLA/TB, ANA has been hot, and has a top schedule until the 9th of March.

Hamrlik: Good schedule until the 23rd of March (with a 1-in-4 in between) and arguably the best defense on my short list. (He's tied with Lidstrom in TSNP/G)

Morris or Blake: Also a good schedule (until March 16th, when Colorado starts a 1-in-5) and Colorado has been unstoppable lately.

I really have no clue who to go with here. I'll sleep on it and decide tomorrow morning around 11 I guess.

I went MacInnis -> Blake

Blake has a good schedule and he should put up better numbers with Sakic back this week. I also think the Avs will soon make a trade to acquire a top winger like Satan to play with Sakic. I'm also considering trading Belfour after his next game for a cheap goalie like Vokoun, Storr, or Snow and then upgrading Tanguay to Bertuzzi or Palffy (Naslund, Mogilny, and Hejduk are my other 3 wingers). Even though Tanguay will continue to play with Forsberg and Hejduk, Sakic will replace him on the top power play unit.
One thing I've noticed about the cheaper wingers that play on top lines like Tanguay, Kip Miller, Sykora, and Roberts is that they usually are the ones kept off the ice in 4-on-4 situations.

I'm considering Tarnstrom/Mac > Hamirlik/Blake. Watching the last few Tarnstrom games concerns me about his production. The style is different, they're not getting power plays...so there's no need to let a slot be a lame duck this late in the year. Going to Blake allows me to get Hamirlik too, and that looks pretty good on paper.

My entire team looks good on paper, but can it hit the averages? That is the question.

The only move I made today is Big Al, to Rob Blake, I considered Morris, Boyle, Shneider,(already have Hamrlik) but opted for Blake.

Other things I considered and passed on....
Thornton -> Mario or Modano.. Joey and the B's will break out soon (I hope)

Belfour -> Roy or Lalime... Roy and Lalime are two of the hottest Goalies in the league right now and Toronto has a revved up Detroit offense looming. I just have a feeling the Eddie will stand on his head in the Joe, so I'm going to take the risk for the hope of the reward. I'm certain I'll lose some cash over the next few days, but if my gut holds true, I'll make it back after the Detroit game.

I thought Joe and the B's looked pretty good yesterday, even though Joe himself went -3. They hustled, had many chances, PP looked good. Rolston is heating up, which should take pressure off the top line.

I remain skeptical on Mario being able to get back to his early season pace, now that Kovalev is gone and they play more defensive style. I expect the recent pattern of 2 point nights alternating with being shut out to continue for him. Should still be good for 40 TSNP/G average (his actual average since Kovalev trade: 35 TSNP/G in 7 games), but not worth 9MM, IMHO.

Here's something to mull over:

Steve Yzerman will participate in tonight's pre-game skate and will then decide if he will play against the Kings, reports TSN.
He has been steadily recovering from a right knee osteotomy, a realignment procedure, and could play this evening. If in fact Yzerman does play tonight, it will be just over 6 months since he had the surgery (August 2nd), and he will provide a huge boost to the slightly disappointing Red Wings. Get ready to activate Stevie Y.

At 3.08 M in the Ultimate game, not a bad deal. I didn't see last nights game, but I would guess he would center the Red Wings second line between Hull and Zetterburg. Probably mucho powerplay time as well. The Wings schedule gets hot Thurs. the 27th.

Thrusday the 27th?? They have two days off after that game vs Toronto.. I'd say the schedule picks up on March 2nd when they have 6 games over 9 days......

I hear Stevie Y will only play a handful of games the rest of the way and may get limited ice-time as he rounds into form. Besides, Red Wings players never seem to be good fantasy-wise, their scoring is too balanced. Better value may be Jokinen, only 1MM more and already hot and have been producing all year.

As for cheapie D, look at Sopel - averaging 33 TSNP/G over last 30 days for the hot Canucks, he's 1.18MM.

After much deliberation, I think it's time to gamble and go for broke.

Morrison > Datsyuk
Jagr > Tanguay
Ozilinsh > Lidstrom
Vokoun > Checkmanek

Gigure > Lalime following Gigure's game

That's my plan, uses some trades but I can maximize all of my RV with studs or cheapies who are wannabe studs.

Looks like some good moves SW. Det has good sched, Lalime gets the ice cold Pens. Tanguay . . no brainer.
I'm making a couple differential moves with my wingers.
Mogilny->Shanahan
Naslund->Iginla
Surovy->Heatley

Also went Belfour->Joseph.

Yeah, I got suckered in to Surovy after his quick start on Mario's line and he has got me absolutely nothing in 5 games. Once again I have only 2 trades left . . and its only Friday!

Cechmanek has been on fire, but I still don't really like his match ups. Goalies are hit or miss for me though, so when I see NYR, COL and WAS I stay away.

I see NYR and I'm blinded by Col right now. If I find some confirmation that he's gonna go against the Rangers, I think I'm gonna take it, and hope he sits vs. Colorado.

I'm also considering Cujo in that slot as well, I may even flip a coin in the end. Best out of 3 for sure, though. ;)

Anyone holding Naslund? I think I may just do that. Looking at the schedule I would lose 1 game and $ but also save a trade on someone I would have gone right back into. I have the players that people are trading into, so I think I am sticking it with him. Toronto has be struggling. Hmm?

Depending who you go to, you should pick up two games from Naslund...I've traded him on one team, debating what to do on the other, likely to make the same move, with both Hull, Hejduk, and Tanguay allowing you to pick up 2 games from Naslund.

I'm debating the Nasland hold myself... My wings are:
Nasland
Hejduk
Mogilney
Palffy

I'm thinking of dropping both Nasland and Mogilney for Alfie and Heatly... Then after Col 3 in 4 going back to Nasland from Hejduk... That would leave me a little cash and I would upgrade trade Hamrlik -> Macinnis even though he has 3 days off coming up....

03/07 - 03/18 COL and VAN has an even schedule so you wouldn't gain anything :) Its all in the way you look at it and right now if you want to conserve trades, you should determine if you want to trade out of COL's up coming 1 in 4 or the VAN's that occurs right now. Or both.

Most of my team's have around 20 trades or more, so I guess I'm in a different position than most, and am able to try and make the most by trading in and out of studs such as Naslund, Hejduk, etc...so I think I've decided I'm going to try and make a run and use some trades finally, just hope they all turn out! Naslund is gone from all of my teams, holding Jagr though.

3 trades:
Blake--Datysuk, because it's makes sense to move to a player that has 3 games compared to 1

Naslund--Alfredsson, because Ottawa plays Pittsburgh twice

Skudra--Cechmanek, because it's makes sense to move to a player that may start 3 games compared to 1.

I am passing on Alfreddson and Hossa becasue they're screwed me too many times this year.

I thought about moving Jagr but seeing that naslund plays 1 in 4 and jagr 2 in 4 i figured more production from Jags. Then upon further review I figured keep Jagr sell Nas and then switch them up after the 10th because Jags sked goes in the tank and Vans picks up.

Canucks play TO in TO with Nolan in the line up. Could get interesting now that Toronto has lost 3. I don't like Van's chances.

True,

Maslund > Tanguay and Jagr > Naslund later gains 1 game and costs one extra trade, I may go for that idea. Naslund is so good right now that I don't wanna miss his games, almost like I went up until Mario's last 2 without missing even one of his games all year.
