0 Subject: Week12 trades??

Posted by: TT
- [31938290] Thu, Dec 29, 2005, 01:36

So many trades (8) not many players needing to be traded. Hmmmmm maybe I can trade Gerber for Miller or Lehtonen (I don't have any cash in the bank to upgrade, can only downgrade).

I think Palffy, Naslund and Zetterberg warrant looks as well. Will be interesting to see where everyone goes. Although, i would think that Ovechkin and Jagr would have lead the way in gains the next couple of days among wingers regardless.

I went to Jagr 2x, going with the blue chip choice, and also biased being a local NYer and a NYR fan.

Alfredsson -> Jagr

I hate these coin flip type of trades. I've been wrong a few times lately, so i hope this one pans out.

Jagr for me too, that PIT game today is too tempting to pass up.

How about Gagne from Alfredsson, or am I the only one without Gagne on my roster up until this point? Already have Jagr, so it's between Ovechkin and Gagne for me... I might be tempted to go Alfie --> Gagne today and Gaborik --> Ovechkin tomorrow but then I'll miss today's coin on Ovechkin... Something I'm not comfortable with considering my recent drastic drop in RV. Hmmm...

I decided to goto Ovechkin. My blueprint this year has been more games = more points. Obviously sometimes it doesn't work out that way. But I need the cash because I have a dream of one day owning McCabe anyways. Oh yeah, and I want Forsberg back.

Oh crap! I just came in here and saw the note about Alfredsson. both NYR and WAS games already started, and Jagr and Ovechkin each with points already. :(

Guess it's true what they say.....when it rains it pours. I had 8 trades yesterday thinking I was in good shape so I 'splurged' and used 2 trades. Then Alfredson goes down, and now possibly Gagne. So suddenly I went from 8 trades down to 4 trades, without really gaining anything.

I'll hold off on the Gagne decision until tomorrow. Gagne was locked in before most of the managers got wind of his illness so his rv isn't going to take a big hit.

However if he's out for the next game, and you have a trade surplus, it might be worth picking up a Sullivan or a Kovalchuk or just holding.

It's a 3 game gamble for 2 trades.

I don't have enough to swing Gagne -> Kovalchuk, already have Sullivan and the other two interesting 3 game options in Kariya and Hossa haven't exactly been tearing it up lately.

I'm tempted to go to Ovechkin for 2 and see how Gagne is on Thursday.

I did Gagne > Hossa for 2 games and some RV. I wish I could've gotten Ilya, but I have a ton of trades and I feel it's a decent time to use one here.

Tried Hossa over Kariya just on a hunch, if I go back to Gagne off this slot I wanted a 2 game gain and not one which was Ovechkin.

I hated to goto Ilya, since I am forced to trade out of him next week. But those 2 PIT games at the end of the week is just too tempting.

Gaborik > Kovalchuk (the 2 PIT games are inviting)

Any word on Gagne's status ?

Expected to return next game. In the meantime....Hossa scores another goal. Looks like going Ilya instead of Hossa isn't looking too good for this afternoon.

According to the Ottawa Sun, Spezza is back today and there's no timetable for Alfredsson's return.

According to Philly.com, Gagne practised yesterday and will play today.

That is some risk smallwhirled. How much money RV are you expected from the trade anyways?? Jokinen is making pretty good money too.

Not sure maybe net 150K or something for the next 2 days vs holding Jokinen. I was gonna do the trade, anyway, 2 days from now letting Spezza get a game under his belt. I just decided to take a risk. When I have a lot of trades, I tend to take a lot of risks of buying into players early. It's something I've done a lot in the past that has worked. Just trying to make as much RV as fast as I can still.

I don't know, it all depends on each situation for me. Jokinen, I'm selling early, wheras, Hossa and Savard, I may wait longer until 1/8 instead of 1/5 to get Philly players. It just all depends on what I'm feeling at the time.

Hasek supposedly tweaked his back in warmups. Really not sure how serious it is, but most likely, if it's not a big deal, I'm holding.

Nittymaki owners just got a youknowwhat.

not tryin to sound like a jerk or anythin, but think of the possibilities having an Auld-Emery duo compared to a Hasek-Auld duo.

So, did Garnett or Lehtonen get injured in this game? I see that they have both played, and if I deduce it correctly, Garnett started, but was pulled in the 2nd for Lehtonen.

If anyone has any clarification on this, it would be appreciated (I have Lehtonen).

Wait, is that really the rule for goalie wins? If a goalie starts a game, his team scores in the opening minute, he subsequently gets injured and comes out, and the game ends 1-0, then the goalie who played all of 1 of 60 minutes would stand to get the "W"...? Can't be, right?

Must be an official scorer's discretion, but I really dunno.

ATL had 4 goals before Garnett was pulled. So OTT would have to score at least 5 goals to deny Garnett of the win.

71, From what I remember from my scorekeeping days I believe that is correct. Whoever was in net for the GWG gets the win. I remember Patrick Roy being pretty pissed off about a game where he got pulled down 1, his team scored two quick goals and they put Roy back in... and he found out after he wasn't getting the W.

Interesting rule that probably works out most of the time except for unusual circumstances like I hypothesized in post #71...I lose out though today, even though Lehtonen had 33 minutes compared to 27 for Garnett.

Rough goings from last nights action. Got steamrolled by Kovalchuk, Niittymaki and McCabe owners. Alex Auld and the Vancouver Canucks disgust me.

Now what to do.....

I have McCabe and he has a 4 in 14, should I trade him for Lidstrom or Mathieu for their 7 games in the mean time.... I know it not the best thing to do playing with the D-man but McCabe could see a significant lost in money today....

On the flip side I have only one trade left and Hasek his on there, here is was I got from Ottawa Sun this morning :

Already without captain Daniel Alfredsson, the Senators lost goalie Dominik Hasek in warmup with a sore back. He wasn't able to make his scheduled start.

"I just felt something in my lower back in the warmup," said Hasek, who added he hopes to play tomorrow against Washington.

"I wouldn't have been able to help the team because I wasn't really able to move around much. I felt bad because Alfredsson was already out of the lineup."

Should I use my last trade to get rid of Hasek and if so for who???

The only option I could see is Osgood or Legace from Detroit, or Vokoun but I dislike Nas opponent and Nas hasn't been playing verry well lately??

Hasek is old, but he says he should be able to play the next game. The trade does not seem to be critical NOW, unless there's an obvious alternative NOW. By the way, I have Hasek 2x, too. So, I am inclined to hold (and I have more trades than you do). I'd like to get more news though...!
