Subject: Week ? 21 ? trades

What week are we in...?
Anyways, I was wondering what everybody are doing with Ottawa players, since they are playing 1 game in the next 4 days against Pittsburg. I currently have Alfy and Spezza on my team. Should we keep or sell OTT players ?
Longer OTT sched....3 games in 8 days ?

I have Sakic on one team and I'm moving him to Staal. Staal has a 4 in 6 while Sakic goes to a 2 in 7.

I thought about Jokinnen, but everytime I pick him up he goes cold. Talk about a jinx.

oops, I forgot, I already traded Jokinen for Staal on Saturday. I must have done it in my sleep, because I only have the vaguest recollections of doing it!

just went McCabe -> Visnovsky. Hopefully Lubo's 3 point game the other night kicked him out of the little funk he's been in lately.

I'm looking at Jagr => Selanne
NYR sched is not that good for the next week, only 2 games B2B againts Islanders and Ottawa on the raod... With ANA fighting for a playoff spot, and Selanne on a hot roll, would justify this with 2 games more...

I'm going to make sure I get every single Jagr game, that's a priority for me.
Really not sure how I'm going to use my trades down the stretch here. Pretty much my entire team has good skeds that stretch for a while still and I'm at 7 --> 12 trades right now. Hopefully I can put them to good use and maybe get into the top 10. Jeez there is seriously no movement in the top 20. The only team that has really come from pretty far back in the last couple of months has been Joelis, at least that I can recognize.

That's typical for me. But I've stalled out between 6-8th for the last month. Can't move any higher. Everyone seems to have the same group of players.
Plus my goalies have stunk the past two weeks.
I'm staying with Kipper and Turco now until the last week. .

I'm begging for a goalie win here... Vokoun's GAA has exploded the past few games after b2b shutouts. I'm feeling a Vokoun -> Luongo move since Florida's in a position where they can't make any mistakes, while Nashville may finally really be slumping for the first time this season, while also dumming it down a bit to save for the big show.

Why oh why did I ever make the Brodeur -> Vokoun trade? Ugh. 3 losses in a row since I picked him up, and Brodeur with a nice win last night.

Well, I dunno if now's the time to move Vokoun. After one more tough game against Detroit, Nashville has like St.L, CBJ and Chicago ONLY over a 6-game period (3 home/3 away), and then finish with 3 at home against Minn, Pho, and finally Detroit. Nashville is 27-6-1 at home this year (.500 on the road).

To get in early, I moved Jagr to Ilya. Could be stupid, but I am trying to make a push. In the past 7 days i have moved up 800 pts to almost be in the top 100. Hoping to try and get in the top 50 now.

Selanne > Alfredson Had selanne for the last 2 weeks....but could not miss out on OTT.
NYR players (jagr and nylander) will be traded tomorow, then picked up again after the long break ! Those 2 guys are the reason that I was finally racking up points !

Might sell Staal here. Schedule and all, that team just stinks right now compared to what they were.
I have to start really using my trades here pretty soon.

Had what I thought was a good night (415 TSNP) and I go up 1 stinkin' spot?! Tough league. ;)
No moves today, holding Selanne. Lundy -> Vokoun tomorrow.

You're right, it is a tough league. I had 508 TSNP last night and didn't move up any spots.
I am leaning towards Selanne to Zetterburg for Detroit's 4 in 5 and then Zetterburg to Jagr on April 4.

what?
Detroit has a 4 in 5, what the hell are you talking about. Buffalo plays 3 games in that span, so it's a 1 in 5 for Briere. Not sure what you are taling about? Oh, are you talking about te tail end of Briere's schedule when he plays Ottowa twice and Philly once? Breire, suspension aside, was off my team in a couple of days anyway.

Looking at either Jokinen or Forsberg from Briere. Starting to chew up many trades.
Considering Shanahan, who is a bit hotter, in lieu of Zetterberg, for the Jagr hole.

FYI, Cheechoo is questionable for Saturday's Sharks game. He was hit in the ankle in the 3rd period by a slap shot from a teammate, and hobbled off the ice. He returned later in the 3rd, but the San Jose Mercury News says he is "questionable" for Saturday's game.

Waffling on
Jagr > Shanny/Zetterberg/Nash
Cheechoo I'm also undecided about. He could also become one of those guys today, or I might wait as long as possible tomorrow and then pull a Heatley/Gagne move if necessary.

Jagr -> Shanny for me, still undecided on Cheechoo. Probably moving, as even if he does play he's probably sore. This late, I'd rather have a fully healthy guy in there.

Yeah, Jagr to Shanny/Zette (one on each of 2 teams) Cheechoo to Selanne Briere to Jokinen
Too many trades to dumb reasons (injury, suspension)!

Smallwhirled, I too am going Jagr > Nash.
I have a lot of ground to make up and I need to differentiate.
Besides, I like Nash's matchups better (STL, CHI, NAS). Even the NAS matchup seems favourable right now, with Vokoun struggling lately, having allowed 4 or more goals in 4 straight games.

when I say I like Nash's matchups better, I'm comparing them to Shanny's, since I assume that's what most managers will be doing.

I'm taking a chance by holding Cheech until I get a definate no.
I only have one trade, and I was going to use it moving back to Jagr on Wednesday

Most managers will jump onto NYR for the remainder of the season. Expect to see Jagr, Nylander, Ozolicnh and Lunquist make quite a bit of gain.

Well, a bit of poor trade management on my part... And some bad luck with injuries/DNPs (Redden, Schneider, Vokoun) have somehow left me without any trades to get Jagr for tonights game.
In the grand scheme of things, 57 TSNP lost probably won't mean much, but it sure would have been better than nothing. :(

There goes my shot at top 20. My plan was to hold Shanahan through to the Columbus B2B, and use my last two trades on Datsyuk and Zetterberg. What ended up happening:
Vokoun got hurt, so I moved him to Lundqvist. I moved Zetterberg for Jagr. Now, Datsyuk is hurt too. So I have 0 trades and two injured players instead of a full lineup of solid scheduling. Just super. :(
