A bit of an off-shoot of what Doom was suggesting in this thread. Rules, etc. as follows...

Positions: C, LW, RW, D, D, G, BN, BN, BN, BN
Categories: SOG, PIM, Saves

That's it!

If you want to join, contact me. I'd like to get teams ASAP so we can get the draft done before the season starts.

LET'S GET TO WORK!

this is going to be tougher than I thought. I was thinking that we had one bench spot for each position played. We are one spot short. hmmmmmmm

KKB I was torn between Auld and Lundquist. Rotowire has lundquist as getting more saves but I thought that Auld had a better chance at saves.

PLEASE get this done ASAP!

I can't remember how it works, but if we get this all entered today, can we start with today's games too?
88KrazyKoalaBears

Yes. We can set lineups for the day after the draft results are finalized. I have all the picks entered and saved up to the current pick (except Ira's, for obvious reasons), so the "worst case scenario" is that I can activate the rosters with our current players and add the rest of the players individually. The best case scenario is that we finish the draft and Ira signs up and we're good to go by sometime in the afternoon or early evening.

Sounds good...

Not sure what my availability will be like today, so I just set up a 10 man queue with everyone as my designated picker. There are only 9 more picks until my next selection, so that should finish my team off.

barilko6, do me (and yourself) a favor and just leave 1 or 2 people as a DP. Knowing that you'll be away, I can make your pick as well. Having everyone just adds more emails and possible confusion as everybody tries to make the pick at the same time. ;)

96philflyboy

most rounds took less than an hour to complete(minus his pick) We waited for Ira about an hour per round.

and just like that the draft is over. 2 minutes after the skipped pick.

pfb, I actually don't look at the projections beyond the middle rounds because people start drafting for their bench. Though, last time I looked, I was in 1st, so that's all that matters. ;)

the way it looks for my standings is:
Fred 19
Doom 16
Taxman 16
philflyboy 14
ira 13
vanye 13
barilok 10
cozmic 8

What that doesn't really show though is the extra saves from our backup goalies to reach the 82 games. Should be a lot of fun and injuries will play a role too.

Good luck all and enjoy and we need to do something like this for baseball too.

Those standings in post 106 don't take into account the pride and desire that go into being a part of the 99 Cent Shooters team. Those in themselves are worthy of at least a 10 point bump.

I understand that the projected standings are only for fun and really do not take into account who is on the bench, injuries, manager expertise etc. It is a fun way however to gauge your team from the beginning.

KKB thanks again for commmishing and I will be interested in hoops, baseball etc. so let me know. I do not go on the hoops forum very often.

Donny-always glad to help and take advantage of the helpless ;-) Couldn't have been to bad as you are still projected above me.

Oooops. The Yahoo "No Cut List" is in effect. That is something that should be turned off for future leagues. No Cut List is to prevent dumping, something that Gurupies don't do, but more important, the list is not prepared with "Busiest Player" categories in mind.

In example, if Vancouver defense continues to limit opposition to 20 shots on goal a game, I will want to dump Luongo. Fortunately..ASB Lupol (Avoid Sin Bin) did not make the list this year.
