Subject: December 13 - December 20 Trade Thread

Last night was a chance to evaluate a couple guys who will shape trade plans for this week. Did LeBron show enough to warrant a roster spot? Did Moon show too little to stay? There's practically nothing Kaman could do to stay, but he'll factor in as well. |

I understand some leaking from SJax, he's at least been a bit up and down (though mostly up), but parting with Baron and Kaman as soon as tomorrow seems like madness to me. I somewhat understand it for those who have Howard and Kaman, and can't get to Bynum but through Kaman (I have all three). But Kaman is still going to outpoint every center other than Howard over the next 10 days.
As for Baron, he plays the same number of games as LeBron over the next 8 days, costs a million dollars less, isn't hurt or coming off an injury (knock wood) and is rolling: 47.5 through 3 quarters tonight.

Baron is going to be sold because he is the only out for people for Wade.

Okay, so somebody forecast the losses of the following players of me tomorrow night and (at least roughly) through the weekend: Baron, Kaman, SJax and Moon. Obviously, not everyone can trade each of these guys, and Moon's schedule remains good.

You are probably right about that, jedman, and I can live with it. If I have to make 3 trades, I'm leaning Marion, Kaman, Jackson>>>LeBron, Wade and Telfair. I gather that a lot of people are high on Dorrell Wright, but I like the way Telfair is getting his tsnps (high assists and steals). Good call by those who bought tonight.

i decided to keep sjackson, bdavis, udrih, brewer, and jaric.
decided to go: moon, kaman, ellis -> lebron, bynum, and blatche.
sjackson underperformed today, but my plan is to keep him at least until end of this year. i think he will deliver. well, baron davis, i dont think there's a reason to sell davis other than to free up money to go lebron. udrih, he needs to go come this saturday. i dunno, i might change my mind and sell udrih before freeze tomorrow.
moon, i can keep him for another week, but i'm afraid he's going to lose too much money. plus he's supposedly injured. and i should have traded ellis... only if i had time to check the yahoo boxscore! yes,i'm getting blatche even though he has 1 in 5 coming up. i don't have money to go anyone else...... and he's good for hte money...
anyway, i don't think i know what i'm doing so feedback appreciated....

Who does everyone think is the big gainer tomorrow and over the next week or so, Wade or Kobe?

Funny you should mention that, Dave R. I think Kobe is a forgotten man in all of this. I think he will see some buys, but far fewer than either Wade or LeBron.

Well, after pulling my best Senator Urine impression and running a whole lot of different scenarios, I might be the only dummy who will have no Wade,Kobe, or Lebron. My best projected team keeps Kaman and dumps SJax,Moon, and McDyess for Gay,Bynum, and D. Wright. The Moon>Wright is just mostly for the money to offset the inevitable Kaman losses that will come. I can get Bynum/Gay/Wade from Kaman/SJax/Calderon. That leaves me with 150K in cash and holding McDyess and Moon. The projected points are about 100 less than the above team going out to 12/23. That's a lot of days and there is probably a chance Wade's average will be more than the last 15 days I used. I just hate having only 150K in cash for when I want to do something with Moon and McDyess. Gotta sleep on it, but I need to make a decision early tomorrow because I may be gone before the first game starts.

I think Moon because
a) he have to go next week anyway and b) he is more owned than S-Jax and c) S-Jax will probably gain money back beginning 12/22
A problem can be yesterdays bad game from S-Jax but i tend to hold him and trade Moon today.

Holding Action Jackson. That schedule is just too good and I'm short on trades. Even if I had them, nothing really makes sense. Going with a team of:
Baron, Wade, Tinsley, Udrih Boozer, Jackson, Wright, Brewer Howard, Bynum
One trade left, maybe I'll go tradeless and move Udrih mid-week. Meh.

dude Bynum is bad news, he will have good games until Sunday when Kwame Brown comes back I guarantee it. Phil Jackson is on Kwame's nuts because of his "size and defensive prowess" so he will definintely cut into his minutes...good luck with him...I will hold Kaman until tuesday.

Not to throw another wrench in things, but is anyone considering Przybilla instead of Bynum? The extra money might come in handy.
I'm thinking about Kaman and Moon to Przybilla and Wade. Prz has been in the 30's since Aldridge went out with Plantar Fascitis, which can linger a long time (kept Nocioni out most of 2nd half last year. It also avoids the Kwame uncertainty and the need to sell Bynum right after Christmas. I'm undecided myself, but it's more food for thought.

#45 To be honest, Przybilla seems to be a hold for a max of four games, not more. That's not nearly enough with the current trade frenzy going on. IMHO, Portland's schedule nullifies any potentially good production their players could have. And as experienced earlier this season, Przybilla's production is far from safe. So I think he absolutely is not viable option.

wade and bynum seem like the biggest money makers for sure.
after lebron's last game and his injury i don't think he is going to make a lot of money and he is only a keeper for 7 days.

Kaman and Moon to Wade and Louis Williams. Save all my guys with good schedules and I can wait out the Sixers bad schedule and hold him through the new year.Haveing Pryzbilla means I don't have to get a center from Kaman.

I am maybe the only guy in TSN holding Kaman and not getting Wade. I sliced and diced my team 10 diffeent ways and I'm going to try and maximize points and mitigate dollar losses as much as I can while still holding Kaman.
Moon/McDyess/Jackson>D. Wright/Bynum/Gay.
Leave me 3 trades and 1040 in cash for any future moves. Leaves me as a team
Tinsley,Baron,Brewer,Calderon Howard,Boozer,Gay,Wright Kaman,Bynum
That team gives me the best projected points and dumps some of the big losers tonight. I am counting on Kaman to continue to produce stud-like numbers and Tinsley as well. Probably wishful thinking, but I don't want to have Wade, hold some other losers and only have 120K in cash.
Should be an interesting week. Usually when I differentiate this much, I screw myself. Species and I are going to check our RV numbers over the next week and see how much more he makes than me as he is taking the aggressive approach down to one trade and little cash.

Anyone looking at Darko from Beno? I know he hasn't been as good pre-injury, but Pau is out atleast a week, and Darko could be held to 1/15. I really feel he is a legit 25 TSNP's per game with Pau in the line-up and would help out when Bynum has to go after Christmas.
I really want someone that I don't have to worry about selling next week because of high ownership etc etc.

His price is sweet and his newly coveted starting spot in Charlotte should lend many to pick him up soon---especially with their nice schedule coming up.

Bynum/Kaman recap:
Since Dec 13 Bynum: 184 TSNP. +$910K Kaman: 138.5 TSNP, -$840K
Admittedly, Kaman plays the next 2 nights, while Bynum plays only once, so the point gap could disappear. But if you followed the crowd with this one, you can't be disappointed.
