Daniels the dreaded game time decision.
Daniels, who missed seven games with a sprained ligament in his right knee between Dec. 15 and Dec. 29 and sat out Tuesday's game because of soreness in the same knee, did not practice yesterday and will be a game-time decision tonight.
"We'll have to see how it goes," Wizards Coach Eddie Jordan said yesterday following practice. "He's been sore. Anybody who has had a sprained knee knows what it is like. Actually, not many people know what it's like because they don't play in the NBA, but it's something he has to deal with."

Stephen Jackson says he plans to play despite needing 30 minutes of treatment on his bothersome left big toe and hobbling around the locker room following Wednesday's loss to Indiana. If Jackson can't go, it would mark the Warriors first game without their tri-captain since their 1-6 start.
Covers.com also lists him as probable.
Was Nellie a little tipsy during that interview? In either case Jackson is a player that will gut it out and play with a little pain. He's not in the Cotton Camby status of randon pinkie finger DNP's. Hopefully the masses won't panic sell. I'm holding and will be at that game tonight.

Mo Williams was back at practice today... Bucks point guard Mo Williams was back at practice today after a two-day bout with the flu which sidelined him for the team's 87-80 victory over Atlanta on Wednesday night.
Williams was able to get through the entire practice session and said he would be ready when the Bucks play Golden State at the Bradley Center on Saturday night.

Re: #73 The Washington Times is more optimistic.
Washington Wizards coach Eddie Jordan said yesterday he expects point guard Antonio Daniels to play in tonight's home game against the Knicks after the 11th year veteran missed Tuesday's game in New York and yesterday's practice with a sore right knee.
Daniels missed seven games last month after spraining his MCL on Dec. 13 against Miami, and soreness reoccurred in Monday's victory over Boston — the Wizards' third game in four nights. Daniels averaged 39 minutes of playing time during that stretch, and rather than risk further injury, Jordan shelved the guard for Tuesday's 105-93 loss to the Knicks.
The Wizards didn't practice Wednesday, and Jordan gave Daniels a third day of rest yesterday.
"It's nothing, pretty much," Jordan said. "It's just that we played a lot of games, and so he was just sore, that's all.
Daniels Likely to Return

No typed source I can show but in last night's Suns postgame they interviewed Diaw and said "What do you expect to happen with Grant Hill ready to return Tuesday?" and Boris answered as if to acknowledge that's the case.
So I guess we can assume Hill will return in some capacity on Tuesday.

Wow. This news, his high ownership and the fact that he is a direct and easy transition into the hot F options now will make him drop a ton tomorrow and thus start the mass exodus. Pity, but all good things must come to an end.

Since there are only 2 games tomorrow, I would hope there isn't a premature sell off until something more definite comes out.. He is " day to day " and that is Rotoworld's spin on things. The article in the Charlotte Observer just says :
Emeka Okafor had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Gerald Wallace added 15 points before leaving late in the game with a sore left calf and knee.

In addition to only two games, there are no attractive options schedule wise, only short term options. He played 42+ minutes so I wonder how much time was left in relation to the score, etc.

Wallace Info
• Gerald Wallace says he injured his left leg in the first quarter Saturday against the Memphis Grizzlies. The injury acted up Monday, and Wallace will receive treatment -- ice, electric stimulation, massage -- to be ready against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.
Knowing Wallace's pain tolerance, I'll be surprised if he doesn't play against the Mavs.

more on Gerald...
Gerald Wallace will reportedly be named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday.
In four games, Wallace averaged 29 points, eight rebounds, 4.8 assists, three steals and a block, easily winning the award. He was injured in Monday's game, leaving him as questionable for Wednesday with a sore left knee and calf.

little bit more on Kaman... per rotoworld
Clippers' center Chris Kaman was sidelined on Saturday because of a left shin contusion, not because of his lingering sore ankle. No word on how long Kaman will be out, but we're considering him day-to-day for now. With their prize center sidelined, the Clippers went to a small lineup, and fill-in center Aaron Williams played only seven mintues, failing to score.

From the LA Times:
"Kaman, the only Clipper to play in every game this season, sat out because of a left shin bruise suffered during the team's loss to the New Orleans Hornets on Friday.
"Right now, it's just really stiff, really sore," Kaman said. "I can't really put a lot of weight on it. I went out and tested it before and it wasn't going to work. Now, I've got a couple days until the next game, so hopefully I'll be good with the trainers."

Kaman gametime decision
"Chris Kaman, who missed a game for the first time this season in Saturday's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, will be a game-time decision tonight against the Charlotte Bobcats.
Kaman said Sunday that the bruise in his lower left leg was still sore. He is not sure when exactly the injury occurred, but it happened sometime during Friday's loss to the New Orleans Hornets.
"I wish I knew," he said. "I get hit, fall down, bang it so many times in a game, I don't even know the exact play."

Not really anything new, but saw this in OC Register
EL SEGUNDO - The Clippers possibly could be without two key starters for tonight’s game against the Charlotte Bobcats.
Neither center Chris Kaman nor swingman Corey Maggette were present at Monday’s morning shootaround. Both woke up with flu-like symptoms and were told to stay home, by the team’s athletic trainer Jasen Powell.
The availability of both players would be a game-time decision, according to Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy.
In the case of Kaman, his status likely is more questionable than Maggette’s. Kaman still has lingering effects of a left shin contusion that caused him to miss last Saturday’s game at Memphis. It was the first game that Kaman did play this season.

Caron Butler will miss Tuesday's game with a left hip flexor strain and is not likely to play on Wednesday, either.
Butler suffered the injury in Sunday's loss at Milwaukee when he scored a career-high 40 points. Obviously, this is devastating news for Butler's owners and you can look for Andray Blatche to start in his place over the next two nights. Source: Washington Post / Rotoworld

Butler out, Blatche to start
Caron Butler will not play tonight and is "probably" out for tomorrow night's game at Toronto with a left hip flexor strain. The injury happened during Sunday's loss at Milwaukee when Butler scored a career-high 40 points while almost willing the Wiz to a win. Andray Blatche will start in Caron's place and will likely start tomorrow night as well.
Obviously, the loss of Butler is huge. The team was swept out of the first round of the playoffs by the Cavs last spring without Butler and Gilbert Arenas and here we are again. I didn't get a chance to talk with Caron so I can't gauge how serious it is but Eddie Jordan made it sound as though Caron simply needs a couple of days to get it right so he can play Friday against Utah. I guess the idea is to not let it become an injury that lingers for several weeks.

From a response from an email to the beat writer for the Washington Post whether Butler should be able to play Friday:
Too early to tell. He was moving really slow when I spoke to him last night. Wouldn't be shocked if he was out till sunday
From a response from an email to the beat writer for the Clippers re Kaman and Maggette for tonight:
They are both questionable, which is one level below from a game-time decsion. So, there is a chance both could play. Neither, or one. They are human, of course, so i'm sure if they can go they will. But if they are too sick they won't.
Use the above for whatever they are worth, and they are just the opinions of a sports writer

No news to speak of regarding Kaman or Maggette for Friday as of yet:
It is Kaman's third straight game missed. He also has a bruised lower leg and the absence could be attributed to either that or flu-like symptoms. Pick one.
It is Maggette's second game missed with the flu-like symptoms. His condition was said to worsen Wednesday with a fever and an upset stomach.
Will the pair be healthy enough today to travel with the team for the first stop of the trip Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves?
"I don't know," Coach Mike Dunleavy said. "I haven't asked that question yet. I'm afraid to."
