Ive found something that I might like: today: Josh Howard to Rondo tomorrow: Daniels to Turky 2/20: Jamison/Duncan to Paul/West

#95 JHoward is gone for me today. Back injuries combined with long flights aren't good.
#97 bd, absolutely move Josh and hold Antawn. With only one trade, injured players have to leave first. As for your target, I'd get Paul today if you plan to get both Paul and Smooth (you could get Smooth tomorrow or next Tuesday). If you plan to skip either of them (which I don't recommend), I'd get Smooth over Paul.
#98 Tricky situation, deejay. I seem to like B and C best. You could vary B by going from Josh to someone cheaper than West (Sheed perhaps?). Not sure which route to go in your case though.
BTW, I totally second Gescom's ranking of today's losers - the biggest hits will be on Josh, Jamison and Kobe. Duncan does not have to be sold today, he transitions too well into other options on 2/20 or 2/22. Which I guess is what most people plan to do with him.

With three available trades and Josh/Kobe/Antawn as probable big losers tonight, I have several decisions to take today, some of which I could use a team vote on.
Kobe>Paul is locked for me today. Had looked at holding Kobe but the numbers clearly have it as inferior route due to Kobe's hefty price tag. So his money needs to be freed. Selling the injured Josh Howard is also a lock today. I'm also pretty much decided to move Jamison for the money swing and the game gained with his exit options. So currently, I'm pondering about which combo to get from JHoward+Jamison. It can be any two of the following players, only prerequisite being that I need one G and one F:
Pierce, Paul (GF) 7690 West, David (F) 6680 Billups, Chauncey (G) 6680 Wallace, Rasheed (FC) 5720 Rondo, Rajon (G) 4160
Thanks in advance for your vote!

Without looking at the numbers, Rondo / West would have my vote.

And because not Im gonna get him too prolly. West can easily be bought on 2/20 is the reason behind it.
108
I kind of really like it too. The only thing is West might not be West, if the price swings are too big, but I guess I could then settle for Maggette. But I kind of really like West.

Seems most of you favour Rondo/West, but while closely looking at the schedule, I'm actually beginning to like the Rondo/Pierce combo most. Here's why:
The next seven Celtics matchups are extremely TSNP friendly, while the Hornets schedule might produce a few ugly nights from West (facing Duncan, Dirk, Yao, Big Ben). Plus Chandler is back and might eat into West's boards. Detroit's matchups also are quite favourable, but not as much as Boston's. Additionally, Celtics could be held until 1/3 while Pistons probably would have to leave on 2/26.
Anybody following/objecting to my reasoning?

Soulman I think there are a couple of other options that may be considered as well. I'm sure you've already looked at them but the ones I think of are... Joe Johnson, B. Roy, Turk, and Kaman.
I like 4 of the 5 options... with Rasheed being the one I am not that high on. I had Rasheed, he was very consistent during that time giving me 28 - 32 points per game. Didn't excite me and I kept thinking I wanted to trade him, but he wasn't hurting either so I held him for a long time.

with a similar situation, i am going with rondo and al jefferson/bosh
extra trade, but long term hold in bosh that gets an extra game over west, possibly with significantly better production
i don't like Pierce, Rasheed or Chauncey, just because they are very expensive for 30 something TSNP

#113 Thanks for the additional options bd, but you're right in that I already looked at them and ruled them out for the following reasons:
Turk - loses a game compared to BOS or DET
Roy/Kaman - I wanted to get guys who have minimum 3 games between today and next Wednesday. Kaman and Roy still can be picked up on 2/20 and 21, respectively.
JJ - has an awful TSNP difference between road and home game averages. Not good a good outlook if after tonight's game versus Boston the Hawks have 6 games on the road.

I finally narrowed it down to 2 plans. Two plans I kind of like equally like. One has me selling Kobe today, the other hasnt... A. JoHo to Rondo(today) 2/13 Daniels to Turk 2/20 Duncan/Jamison to Paul/West(or Maggs if cash shortage)
B. Kobe to West(today) 2/13 Daniels to Roy and JoHo to Turk 2/20 Duncan/Jamison to Paul/8mil player like Bosh
Sorry for the multiple posts, but Im in a little pickle. Can I get a team vote? :)

#114 Thanks qwert for helping an opposing team's Captain! :) Basically, I also like Bosh/Jeff over Pierce but I'm planning to pick both of them up anyway after their sched holes - for my roster they would transition perfectly from Carter (2/20) and Iggy (2/24), respectively. Plus the Celtics' IND-NYK-DEN-GSW-PHO stretch within 7 days is really very very tempting...
#116 Sorry, but on my team Kobe definitely leaves today. His money needs to be redistributed and today is when I can do it while also picking up a game.
#117 I like (A) better, deejay.

I'm just moving Jamison to Paul, holding Kobe. I'll take the price hits, his schedule is to good. Holding TD too, and taking his price hits.
And I would if I had more than one trade ;)
Soulman, my one concern about Rondo is KG's impending return ( Pierce also I guess ) as was stated by Dilo in post 83

My plan is very aggressive:
Jamison/Kobe - Paul/Brad Miller today Horford - Amare Stoudemire tomorrow Dirk - Roy on tuesday A. Carter/Duncan - Kaman/Bosh on wednesday
This gives me a team i really like:
Paul Roy Turkoglu Calderon Josh Smith LeBron Bosh Stoudemire Brad Miller Kaman
It's not easy to give up Kobe today and Dirk in two days because they still have a good schedule but i like my new very balanced cheapie less team a lot. Let's hope that the ASB or the trading deadline or any injuries don't destroy my plans.

Sorry, this reply adds no real content, but I just found it amusing that we fantasy junkies consider days with no scheduled games to not really be days at all. ;) (Unless I'm misreading your post turnabouts. My apologies if I am.)

It's days like this that I think are the most interesting. Everyone has different ideas and plans, not everyone is going down the same path...at least for the next few games. Usually the first 2/3 of the season you are trying to follow the crowd (i.e. $$) Obviously with my FV I'm not the greatest at that...so to me the best part of the season is near the end when more chances are taken and rosters diversify.
Turnabouts...that is a nice line-up. Do you have any concerns that Shaq will negatively affect Stoudemire after the ASB?

#122 Too funny, somehow I knew you would be puzzled by my considering the guys you mentioned... :) But you know me well enough to know that I mostly focus on talent/schedule and seldom care about averages. After all, between averages and talent/schedule, the latter are the steady factors, aren't they? ;)
#124 Ahh, only now that you mention it I finally realize that the ASB are actually days... ;))) All those years I was under the firm assumption that it's just a bunch of grey lines in the schedule indicating NBA player movement time and the switch from money focus to TSNP focus... ;)

You really go to Maggette? He is the same "hate" player for me in fantasy than Mo Williams. And my feelings told me that he will be traded this year...
Is your plan to go back from Dirk to Kobe on 2/23? I toyed with this idea the whole day but i need the money from both players to get all the players i like.

Gescom, I agree with turnabouts on Maggs. I'm glad you guys talked me out of him when I wanted to pick him up right before his multi-DNP stint. He definitely has secured a place in my dream roster along guys like MoWill, JermO and TMac.

I don't think that Shaq is really an impact. First of all he must play a game. Then he must learn to play the Phoenix run and gun style. With his bad conditioning this will require weeks from now. Till then Amare is never on my team.

I think Shaq will be beneficial to Amare tsnp and that Amare is the true fantasy gainer of Marion's trade.
Agree with you guys that Maggette is a risky pick but I'm using the following rationale: no one doubts that a healthy and rested Maggette can be very solid for a stretch of 2-3 weeks. That's this post ASB Maggette I'm expecting. If he goes off while nobody has him, nice differenciator. If he goes down with an injury, which I'm fully expecting, I'll have the trades to handle. And I reserve the right to change my mind by 2/20 ;) He's the kind of player you can only gamble on with a bunch of saved trades which we were not having a couple weeks back when he was tempting.
Thought about going back to Kobe with Dirk on 2/23 but am likely going to be short of cash. Dirk will most likely convert in Deron or Al Jeff on 2/26 but may back for the 4 in 5 and leave for good on 3/4.

New dilemma... Gay/West vs Turk/Maggette ? Which duo you prefer ?
The plan is to move Daniels today, he caused me nuff harm and is still questionable. Now if I get Turkoglu today, then I lock myself out of the duo that I like most on 2/20 being Paul/West(from Jamison/Duncan). Price changes were a tad heftier than expected...
I know Gay is rather shortterm, but so is Turk. And by getting him I can get West rather than Maggette.

Only had 1 trade yesterday and used it and lost $400+ K yesterday. Held all my guys today Duncan/jamison/daniels... lost another $340K. Good news is I had a pretty good night, but it would be nice to have all the $$$ back . Carter wasn't good, but everyone else was fine and Odom and Dirk really helped. #122 "I don't understand your love for Pierce, Rasheed and Billups." turnabouts, do you now? ;) For Pierce at least? He's done exactly what I thought, i.e. fill the stat sheet in favourable matchups. Lots more to come hopfeully.
BTW, Rondo is amazing. I first had doubts (like I had with Calderon), but he's totally convinced me now. Come to think of it, Rondo absolutely looks like the second coming of Calderon now. Not a bad guard duo for approx 8m combined! :)

Kudos to you Soulman for choosing the Celtics, I am kicking myself for not grabbing Rondo from AJ earlier, discouraged by a couple of thoughts expressed here.
But KG's return post break ( supposedly ) could somewhat dampen their lofty outputs. I assume you only want them to hold on until 2/26.
Meanwhile, enjoy the ride.

And yes Dave - until 2/26 definitely to collect all the good matchups. If there are other pressing needs and they keep doing well, I might extend to 2/28 or even further but that remains to be seen. Sorry BTW to also have joined the thoughts that discouraged you from getting Rondo. That was when I still doubted him, but since then I must admit my take on him has entirely changed.

Yesterday I pulled the emergengy break on losing money. Avoided the losses from Kobe, Ilgauskas and Carter, and went Sefolosha, Stoudamire, and Roy. So far so good. This allows me to go Duncan -> Paul, and upgrade Gay to some 8.1 Mio Forward or Center, which i think will be Kaman. And as turnabouts said Stoudamire is the perfect way back into Duncan.
