Mike Dunleavy (knee) has reportedly participated in hard workouts two days in a row. He looks good, according to Pacers announcer Chris Denari, with plenty of lift on his jumpshots.

Finally some concrete (and positive!) news on Dunleavy's condition. There's still no word on when he might return, but at least the knee is improving. Dunleavy's return will complicate the role of emerging Marquis Daniels, who has filled in admirably at shooting guard.

Carlos Boozer had 20 points and 11 rebounds Wednesday before leaving with a strained quad.
Uh oh. For now, consider Boozer day-to-day after he spent the game's final minutes in the locker room. We should have an update on his status on Thursday, and Paul Millsap with be worth picking up if the injury is serious.

All-Star power forward Carlos Boozer's status remains up in the air. Boozer did not practice today — which happens to be his 27th birthday — and is undergoing an MRI to determine the severity of his strained left quadriceps, a team spokesman said.

SALT LAKE CITY (Nov 20, 2008) – INJURY UPDATE!!!
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) tests conducted on Boozer’s left leg earlier today, confirmed that Boozer suffered a strain of the left quadriceps tendon.

Boozer will travel with the team, but is doubtful to play on the Jazz’s two-game road trip to San Antonio (11/21) and Memphis (11/22).

In addition, center Jarron Collins (inflamed right elbow) is out for Friday night’s game at San Antonio, while Brevin Knight (strained left abductor muscle), Kyle Korver (inflamed right wrist) and Deron Williams (left ankle inversion sprain) will each be gametime decisions. Matt Harpring (right ankle rehabilitation) and Mehmet Okur (lower back strain) are expected to play.

Kelenna Azubuike missed his second straight day of action on Thursday with a sprained left knee.

He injured the knee in Tuesday's game against the Blazers and a Warriors team spokesman called Azubuike day-to-day. Nellie hasn't announced who would play in his absence, and owners should proceed with caution. - Rotoworld

Jackson (SF), Maggette (PF) and Biedrins (C). Still up in the air as to when Ellis will back, but he did get the screws removed from his foot yesterday.

Bulls rookie Derrick Rose, who was 6-of-6 shooting in the fourth quarter, left the game with just over a minute left with an injury to his left side.
He had an icepack on his hip/abdominal area, but was in obvious pain. He blew up in the second half and finished with 25 points and five assists on 12-of-19 shooting. The good news is he didn't go to the locker room, but if it's abdominal strain, he could miss some games. We'll have an update on Saturday, but you'll want to grab Larry Hughes if we find out the injury will keep him out for any games.

Deron Williams is targeting Wednesday's game against Memphis for his return from a sprained left ankle.
That means Williams likely won't play on Saturday or Monday, and leaves him a maximum of three games next week. Considering he already aborted one comeback attempt, it's probably safest to keep him sidelined until we've seen him in action.

More good news for Daniels holders...

Mike Dunleavy said recently that he's taken a "half-step" toward returning from his knee injury but there is still no timetable for his eventual return.
According to Pacers beat writer Mike Wells, "Nobody in the organization has an idea on when the Pacers second-leading scorer will be back. Just know it won't be anytime soon." We were optimistic after reports that Dunleavy looked good in recent workouts, but Marquis Daniels' starting job is safe for the foreseeable future.

Danny Granger sprained his left ankle with 10:15 in Saturday's loss to the Heat but returned after a quick trip to the locker room.
Granger finished with 23 points, six assists, four 3-pointers and six turnovers. It looks like owners avoided a possible crisis with Granger's injury, but now we have to hope it doesn't swell up on him over night. - Rotoworld

That would seem to make his odds longer for returning in time for the Bobcats games on Friday or Saturday, but it sounds like if all goes well he should be back in the lineup next week.

An MRI and CT scan confirmed that Lakers' center Andrew Bynum has inflammation in his right foot as a result of a small bone spur that chipped off during Tuesday's game.
He's day-to-day with the injury and more information is expect prior to Friday's game against the Mavericks. Bynum owners should cross their fingers that he'll be able to finish out the week.

Jazz point guard Deron Williams could rest when the Jazz play back-to-back games to avoid a setback with his ankle.
"I said that two weeks ago when I came back, but my ankle's so much stronger and so further along than it was back then, so we'll just have to see how it goes," he said. Williams looked great in his return last night, so maybe the Jazz won't feel the need to be as cautious, but keep an eye on the situation as the Jazz play three sets of back-to-back games in the next two weeks.

Kevin Martin is not scheduled to play in Friday's game against the Jazz due to his ankle sprain.
It does sound like Martin is close to returning, so owners should hope we see him on Saturday against Dallas.

Francisco Garcia is expected to make his season debut Friday night against the Jazz after sitting out with a calf injury.

Jermaine O'Neal reportedly looked good in Thanksgiving Day workouts and is expected to try to play on Friday vs. Atlanta.
He's likely a game-time decision but if we had to guess, we'd say he's a go for tonight. If he does play, Jamario Moon will return to the bench.

The MRI on Warriors guard Kelenna Azubuike’s left ankle showed nothing more serious than a bone bruise, and he’s considered day-to-day by the team, which will try to break a seven-game losing streak in Houston on Friday.

“I don’t think he could play tomorrow,” Warriors coach Don Nelson said Wednesday, but Azubuike’s availability Friday has not yet been ruled out.

An MRI on swingman Kelenna Azubuike's left foot on Tuesday revealed a bone bruise. He remains day-to-day. Azubuike was at the Warriors practice facility Wednesday, taking part in some solo shooting drills with director of athletic development Mark Grabow.

I wouldn't count on an immediate return, that article says he will be tested to see if he can begin practicing:

Indiana Pacers guard Mike Dunleavy could be taking a significant step toward his season debut as early as next week.

Dunleavy, who has not played this season because of bone spurs in his right knee, will undergo a test on the knee in the next week to 10 days to see if he is ready to start practicing.

"We're going to see how the next week or so goes," he said. "I have to pass some test in terms of on-court activities, and after that, hopefully, I'll be able to pick it up more and more."

Dunleavy, who missed only 11 games in his first six seasons, has been a spectator in the Pacers' first 18 games.

He attends every practice and game to get treatment on his knee. He spends significant time doing strength and conditioning work on his knee while his teammates practice. He then does on-court drills after practice.

According to Rotoworld sources, the Orlando Magic broadcast team said Tuesday night that Dwight Howard was treated for an oblique strain during a win over the Blazers.

He was suffering discomfort from the injury but played through it in the second half. We're guessing it is not serious or there would be more information about it coming out of Orlando. But it does offer and explanation for Howard's stat line (seven rebounds, no blocks) and is worth keeping an eye on. The Magic are off until Friday when they visit Phoenix.

Dwight Howard left Friday's game in the third quarter with a sore left knee and spoke in detail about it after the game.
"I made a move on (Robin) Lopez and I guess I came down the wrong way or something," he said. "I’m not going to play with any pains like this." He later added that he didn't think the injury was serious. "It’s none of my ligaments," he said. "Everything is fine. I’ll be all right." Consider him day-to-day and hope for the best. He's questionable for Saturday at Utah. -Rotoworld

Howard update: Howard missed most of the second half because of soreness Friday night in Phoenix. He came out for early warm-ups before the game against the Jazz, couldn't move laterally without pain and decided to sit after huddling with trainer Tom Smith and assistant coach Patrick Ewing.

Howard has had some irritation in the knee this season and sat out some practices, but General Manager Otis Smith said he doesn't believe the situation is serious. Smith said, though, that there was a possibility Howard could undergo his second MRI of the season on Tuesday after the Magic return.

Howard's knee has hurt off and on since he broke his left leg and had several screws inserted at the age of 15.

Can someone please explain why players such as Arenas, Ellis, Dunleavy, etc... are being allowed to have their price gravitate downward when they haven't even played a game this season?

Wouldn't it have been better to place a hold on their starting prices until such time that they actually perform?

I suspect it's really inconsequential right now since none of those players are playing but since Arenas' price debuted at $8.77M, he's now down to $7.39M.

Now I can understand if a player is hurt during the season and his price spirals downward because they're may still be some owners with that player on their roster. But why allow the Arenas' of the world to fall to, say, $6M or so? Just doesn't make sense to me.

Now Howard's not sure whether he'll play...

"The very fact that Howard said Wednesday he can't guarantee whether he'll play tonight — possibly missing his the third consecutive game — should give fans pause.

Howard said his left knee "isn't bothering me now," and the Magic front office appears more cautious than concerned. But the Magic's two-time all-star underwent an MRI on Tuesday, will begin wearing a knee brace and start having his practice time closely monitored until further notice or be held out of some practices altogether.

Howard participated in a limited workout on Wednesday, but wasn't sure he could face the San Antonio Spurs tonight at Amway Arena.

"Hopefully," Howard said. "It depends on how I feel." The club said Howard's MRI showed no damage, only arthritis or inflammation that has bothered him off and on this season. He already has been held out of several practices to give the knee a rest.

Howard was his upbeat self after Wednesday's workout, showing little worry and trying to pass off the soreness in his knee as "a bruise ... like when you bruise your elbow."

"It's not bothering me right now. It was good, actually," Howard said. "I don't think it's going to be a problem that will stop me from doing the things I do best. ... It's not chronic."

Van Gundy said Howard "looked fine" in practice, and added his injury is "nothing that can't be managed."

He has a plan in place to accommodate Howard's knee."

Marquis Daniels left Wednesday's game in the second half with a sore neck.
