why are so many people going with rondo from nash and not josh smith or kobe. Were you planning on holding rondo past his 4 in 5 and through hi 2 in 6.
Jus seems weird that people are passing on those whose schedule starts with a game today.

I imagine most people planned on getting Monta from Nash and his injury throws a wrench into that. Rondo is the next best replacement. Kobe's been good for a couple of games but before that he was unownable.

Kobe's issue is cost - and perhaps performance. His last few have been OK, but it's hard to ignore the week before that.
Josh plays today, but Rondo plays 4 in the next 6, while Josh plays only 3 in the next 6. In fact, Josh doesn't have a cumulative schedule advantage over Rondo until Feb 9. Over the next 12 days both play 7 times.
One option is to swap Rondo to Smith on Feb 2 and pick up the extra game. I don't necessarily plan that, but it's a possibility if I have "Rondo regret." Smith may also be a viable replacement for some other injured player.
It's not an automatic call, however. Nothing wrong with taking Smith over Rondo today.

I"m really not doing my planning well right now.... I sitting here staring at Channing Friggin Frye on my team (coming off the bench on a dry day in the schedule).... He's SCREAMING to me; "trade ME!!!"... And Brooke Lopez is the guy I really want, but I did not plan for the money for that!! Could have taken Delfino Yesterday instead of Maggette and then I could have gone to Lopez...
Frye to Ben Wallace?? That just does does not feel like the move of a champion. KI, You SUCK!!!

Just got home and I need to figure out what to do with Michael Beasley... have no money so I've got to go same or cheaper and I cannot buy a Guard... pulled up the 15 sortibles looking for an answer... the highest ranked guy that pops up is.... Richard Hamilton??????
Am I living in the past? Is this 2004?? Is someone playing a joke on me???

M4L, There are a plethoria of Piston's available in your price range... 2004 Piston's roster I think they have a shot to win it all this year. Not sure about that #1 pick Milici? Mehmet Okur has been outplaying him lately. The bench is alot stronger than people realize.

I was leaning toward Paul=>Kobe. Let's me wait until gametime to decide. Dwight starts an hour earlier, so that move would have to be made before Paul's status is likely known.

people without flex would probably be forced into getting Kobe, assuming everyone already having wade I don't see any other option
I wonder if anyone would have the balls to pick up kevin martin for SAC's schedule stretch
if he reverts back to a 35+ tsnp guy would be a great bargain

Living near Sacramento and being a huge Kings fan, I'm staying away from KMart. Tyreke will continue to push 35+, but his ownership is too high to be bought now. One caveat, if KMart has found his shot (we'll see tonight), I might change my mind.

Gonna gametime Paul and if he's out, I'll go for David Lee. His game starts at the same time as Paul's. I'd go Kobe if Paul was out for a long time but it doesn't sound like that's the case. Rather just do an in and out for the game advantage.

Okay, now that I know he's definitely out. (and a while before gametime) its Kobe for sher. There's a way to get back into Paul if he's okay in a few games, but its too much of a risk to think that he'll play against Phoenix...

Problem is the buyin probably all takes place tonight and Wednesday.... then he's 30% owned and the $350K we make starts bleeding away.... At 500K he can be held forever because he does not cost anything providing he produce around 25?TSNP/game. But Im not sure I think he is gonna be a huge money maker..

MFL,
I'm holding Zach. Lemme splain...
Its always a sucker move to trade a guy in the 1 in 5 when he's got a great sched afterward. That's essentially what confront's Zach. He's got a two game gap followed by a b2b, hence 2 in 4 = keepable. Then the dreaded 1 in 5, after which, EVERYONE will want him.
Yes, he'll lose 200 to 300K over the 3 in 9 but he'll make it all back after the break. It'll cost you two trades to get a two game advantage of a comparable player, meanwhile your lesser players continue to stain your roster.
Nothing wrong with trading Zach if you're going into a long hold with whoever you get and then get Zach back from someone who's sched is running out.
Food for thought...

***Intruder*** M4L, you need to decide if any of those 4 you mentioned are guys you want on your team after the break. I'd rule out Duncan as I think most managers have with good reason.Dirk,Kidd, and Noah have great scheds coming up and if you decide you do want them then the sooner the better. There are a couple ways to get Zach back after the break. If you don't feel any of those 4 are essential then simply hold Zach and bank the trade like Dave and Phatty said.

Another Q for anyone: Is it more efficient to load up on players that have at least 2 good weeks out of the break? Or, just make sure they all have a good 1st week?
* Wade & Rondo have 5 the first week, 3 the next * Delfino & Collison have two 4-game weeks * Zach has 5 the first week, 4 the next * B Lopez has 5 the first week, 2 the next * J Smith has two 4-game weeks * Pau & Dalembert have to go before the break. * Dwight has 5-in-7 before the break, then has to go.

Hmmmm, guess this is best on a case-by-case...
Wade's gonna lose some coin starting Friday, but he's got a nice sched over the break, afterward he'll probably be gone.
Rondo's got a couple hic-cups in an otherwise great sched.
Delfino and Collison's schedules are artificially better because of their cost.
Zach we've already splained...
Fu!@#$% EVERYONE should own Brook!
Nuthin' wrong with Smoove, just haven't worked him in myself yet. Probably gonna be an injury replacement.
Agreed on Pau and Sammy. The bell tolls soon.
Superman is gonna be a popular pick-up. I'm probably gonna get him Friday from Wade barring injury (that won't happen fer sher!!!). Then he'll hafta go after the 5 in 7 or early in the next week.
Don't overlook Deron Williams next Tues. Might be the #1 pricegainer that day.

My last intrusion. Forget what G says, sorry bud, weeks mean nothing. Find good transitions from the players you have to the players you want. It is inconsequential what day of the week that happens especially this time of year. Wade is an easy hold for me just because I already have Dwight. Otherwise I would triangle in and out of him. Rondo is on my team forever but I am biased because he is by far my favorite player. Like Phat said Delfino and Collison are such great values that until the end of Febuary you should forget about them. Brook to Durant,Lee, or Westbrook is pretty perfect. Smoove and JJ are nice pick ups if an injury occurs but I'm not forcing them in. Pau will start losing on 2/9 and continually bleed out. Dalembert should have went 2 days ago but if you got stuck like me I see no reason to move him now. He most likely becomes one of Bogut or Marc Gasol when the time is right. Dwight to James is too perfect on 2/18 to pass up. Lock that one in if you don't have James. Deron will be a must after the break.

Also, 2/10 a decent out for Wade > Nash? Barring injury, Pau > Deron on 2/9
