Okay it's early, but with a quick moment and training camps getting ready to open soon, why not start the preseason?
First order of business: Roll call! Are you coming back for the season??
I have already had one manager state a high unlikelihood they will return........so we are likely to need at least one manager, and possibly more. Feel free to offer suggestions for replacement managers.
I will get some rosters up, post last year's trades and standings, and send out a league email via ESPN.
Looking forward to a good season -- particularly since my team rocks. |

I agree everything in the Activity section except for "You are also expected to keep healthy and competitive players who are playing in your active lineup." I disagree with that for the same reason as bmd stated in post #267.
I think the 70 games played limit is also too low, for the reasons Bean stated in post #281.
1. No 2. No

I like tanking. No other way to get talent in this league than to suck, or swindle someone in a trade. Tanking doesn't guarantee shit, as you will notice that neither DeMarcus Cousins, nor Anthony Davis are on my team, despite near Hinkian efforts in both of those seasons. Fn' lottery.

So, when you confessed to tanking, what was the penalty you received? Or is the crime somehow excusable after confession? Just have to say three "World Be Frees" and all is forgiven? I like that rule.

We should all trade ownership of 1st Round picks before each season. Like the guys who finished 17th and 18th swap their picks the next season. They should be comparable the following year and it eliminates tanking and gives you someone to cheer against. Anyone want to swap with me for next year?

hinkian...trade off all vets, gamble on youth, grab a euro-stash guy, get better draft picks. Use those picks wisely (or not, in my case). Bottom out and work your way back up. It's sucked but the team is coming back around. World B. Free.

GO, just have a reverse order. The last place team can pick who's pick they'll get next year and so forth. I bet Species would get stuck with Pete's pick :)

Now THAT is brilliant! You'd have the strategy of looking at the other teams and pick the one you think is in for a rough season.

and then there would be no motivation to tank... and extra motivation to beat the guy who's pick you own.

Absolutely brilliant. Imagine the embarrassment someone would suffer from being the owner chosen as most likely to Suck Seed. Now there is incentive.

We could just opt for virtual tattoos...eg. allow the 16th place team to name the 20th place team for the following year etc. Pick an embarrassment, they're all good.

Know what we call a Dellavedova 3 PT make here in Cleveland? A Deli Trey....great at watch parties. DEL-E, DEL-E, DEL-E
I got 3.5:1 for game one early in the betting, other bettors must be stupid. Standard Home Court advantage is usually 1.5:1 for equal teams. I know the players on Golden State aren't that cocky.

My quick count is that proposal 1 is losing 5-9, and proposal 2 is losing 3-11.
There does seem to be some support for a more meaningful limit in proposal 1, and/or a penalty involving draft pick priority. But it may be difficult to get enough focus until the fall.

Offensive rebounds? not turnovers? The numbers/points look pretty much like RIBC leagues. Anyplace to see previous draft results? I think I would be interested but remember the timberwolves are known for tanking with generally bad results especially with draft picks until very recently. Who is on the team that might up for grabs?

The team formerly known as Toral Taj Gibson, Chi PF Trevor Booker, Uta PF Isaiah Thomas, Bos PG, SG Damian Lillard, Por PG, SG Brook Lopez, Bkn C Anthony Bennett, Min PF Julius Randle*, LAL PF Gerald Green, Pho SF, SG Brandon Bass, Bos PF Drew Gooden, Wsh PF Kris Humphries, Wsh PF, C Mitch McGary, OKC PF, C
A couple of nice pieces and a few other kinds of pieces. Bt hey!!! You'd build around twolves future in Bennett!

A couple of nice pieces worth keeping but not sure of much else. For leagus (ESPN?) is it 2 guards PG/SG, 2 forwards PF/SF, one center, one additional guard, one extra forward, and 3 others so 10 could play at a time? With only 12 players seems hard to get all the games in if injuries and would require a lot of pickups and drops. What is the general thought/philosophy on who to keep in the league--highest ranked players for production or potential for the upcoming season to determine how to build team.
If I build the team around Anthony Bennett--I assume as a keeper which he must have been last year--I might be suspect of tanking, low BB IQ, or crazy brilliant(if one thinks he will play like a #1 pick) before the season started. Anyplace to view prior drafts and has draft order been determined for this year?
If Bennett had a breakout season and still on timberwolves(thoughts here are he may get traded before season starts), I would be ecstatic as the timberwolves might actually be good this year.

Makes sense with only 8 players and this team had only 3 eligible guards and one SF--so no position designation with guards and forwards either. Thanks.

Hoops is by far the easiest sport to rebuild in. I don't think anybody has ever had a rebuild project last longer than 1 year. Our short bench forces contending teams to utilize all their slots and not have them tied up in the future with guys that might not be playing much now.

I am interested in filling manager position--especially now that the fantasy football draft is done can at least look forward to BB. With a large group it should be hopefully fun and interesting.
