0 Subject: Is this self serving or a good veto?

Posted by: Micheal

The "commish" in my Yahoo league has vetoed a trade that everyone in the league has agreed to let go through. The players involved are:

Garnett for J. Rose, B. Barry, K. Martin

He has vetoed it and the reason being is that "KG is not worth all those players". Martin for KG is a no brainer. The problem seems to lie with Rose and Barry. I say let the trade go through.

After he trades Rose and Barry his guards are: Payton, Francis, Mobley, B. Jackson, T. Hudson, Mercer. IMO he loses nothing by letting them go.

After he trades Martin his forwards are: B. Wallace, E. Griffen, Skinner, B. Grant, M. Allen and Kwame. So you can see why he would be anxious to get KG.

The team receiving KG is ranked 2nd and the "commish" is ranked 3rd. It is my opinion that the "commish" does not want him to have KG fearing that he might not be able to beat him. He says that he is saving the guy from himself.

None of the teams involved are mine and I'm nowhere near the top of the division, so my opinion is not biased. Words have been exchanged between me and the "commish" (who is pretty well known here) and he said that he'll let it go through if that is the consensus here.

Dirk and Finley were on my team. I dropped everybody but the mavericks, then I picked up all mavericks from the FA pool. I actually ended up with their entire roster sans Nash and Bradley. Good times, youngshmuck, good times.

Fortunately school is out today so we should be treated to another full day of ignorant quips and come backs by Youngpunk. AdamH, don't hold your breath, he won't learn a thing until he progresses past the "me, me, me" stage of maturity.

ksoze...I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I don't often post, but I play fantasy sports all the time and peruse the boards quite frequently...from everything I've seen of Youngbuck, I can't see him changing his ways. He probably will never learn.

This thread demonstrates that there is really no need for others to trash YOUNGBUCK. He very competently handles that duty all on his own.

[Normally I wouldn't re-use a joke--this is from the hockey boards--but this thread and this pic are both too damn funny].

Actually, I shouldn't be so hard--when I was a kid I couldn't lie very convincingly either.

"As usual I would come back with a barrage of cuss words"

That's the problem YB, you come back with cuss words. Why not try to have an intelligent conversation? Why not try to add something positive to the forum? The problem is you just swear at people and provide no intelligent thought. Try doing that and others are more likely to take you seriously.

Trust me YB, everyone here is mature. If you start acting like an adult everyone will treat you accordingly. I've seen it happen before and it would undoubtedly happen again. Try it. It can't hurt.

When it's "like a million against one," you might consider the possibility that the million have a valid point.

Once you get the reputation, it takes some time to live it down. If you clean up your act, you will still have to deal with a little bit of bashing for the short-term until you win everyone over.

You may have missed the point of this thread, YB, but people are generally bashing you not because of your forum behavior, but because of your commissioner behavior. Of course, your prior forum behavior gave plenty of warning signals, and many of those who opted to join your league are now wondering why they didn't heed those signals.

As long as you observe the forum standards, I'll allow you to continue to post. But when you pull self-serving stunts like the commissioner episodes mentioned above, criticism of your actions and reactions are certainly to be expected, regardless of whether you're cussing or not.

You may believe that you've done nothing wrong. But rather than dismissing all criticism as people simply ganging up on you due to past indiscretions, you might consider that some of the feedback is warranted solely due to current behavior.

Just a thought...

Guru,

with all due respect to your above post, you've made a glaring error. by signing off with "Just a Thought," you've implied that the person you're directing your comments toward has the ability to "think"...

that, based on experience here, is a broadbroadBROAD leap of faith..

I would think it would be enlightening to you, YB, that it was the unanimous opinion of this board that the veto you made was not warranted or fair -BEFORE anyone knew that it was you who made it. Nobody's picking on you (I doubt that anyone knows you personally, so how could they be) - they're picking on the boneheaded things you do (on a remarkably consistent basis.)

Story appropriate to this thread? MLB wants bat boys to be at least "double digits" in age. Write your own punch line, please.

Major League Baseball announced this week that it wants it's bat boys to be at least 10 years old. The reason for this measure is not to keep kids safe from errant foul balls, but rather to prevent Sammy Sosa from eating small children.

Here's another one:

Major League Baseball announced this week that next season all bat boys will have to meet a minimum age requirement. In a related story, the Dodgers bought out the contract of backup catcher Chad Kreuter, who served primarily as a bat boy.

Actually, Hamid, not that it really matters, but I think the YOUNGBUCK saga really began with an earlier thread where he proudly recounted his confrontation with Gary Payton. I don't think the stolen basketball story would have met with as much wrath if not for the precedence set by his dissing of Payton.
