Outside the Beltway (a good right-wing blog) asks the question: what good right-wing blogs exist?
They must meet three criteria.
1) Civil 2) Analytical 3) Not blinded by partisanship
Besides OOTB, anyone have good ones they visit? |

Don't know if my post in the Top 10 Blogs thread prompted this but as I've noted there and elsewhere I've long been a fan of Captain's Quarters, where Ed Morrissey has consistantly met all of Outside The Beltway's criteria.
I hit The Corner at NRO once in a while.

All my posts meet those criteria.

I'm sure you know The Volokh Conspiracy. In fact I think you may have pointed me there, once upon a time.
Not precisely right-wing. Libertarian lawyers, for the most part, but definitely some smart, thoughtful right wingers writing there. I haven't had the time to do more than skim it now and again lately, but the content is pretty much always top-notch.

May be more libertarian. Here you can learn about a whole new world of ecomomics based on scientific fact and the laws of supply and demand.......the austrian school of economics.

B7 - Madman's a classically trained economist. I'd be interested in his opinions on the Austrian school, but I doubt he will be swayed to the dark side.

How can you be Right/Left-wing and still meet #3?

One can be partisan (or inclined one way) but not slavishly so, I think.

Good right-wing blogs
Isn't that an oxymoron, in the same way "good left wing blog" would also be an oxymoron?
Shouldn't it just be "good blog"... open minded, without prejudice, willing to look at all sides of an issue without a pre-disposed bias?

Not necesarily. A great contrast between the blogosphere and the American media is that blogs are not bound by any objectivity standard. Both approaches (attempting to maintain a standard for objectivity vs open bias) will inevitably result in skewed accounts and perspectives. There's some debate about which is more preferable but I think you'll find that most current events/politics bloggers and blog readers prefer reading from an acknowledged bias.

Out from the shadows I am, for a nano-second only.
Nerve has stated the obvious.
acknowledged bias vs. partisanship Not sure the distinction carries a significant weight as they are so intertwined. Partisan thought is (based on) a bias, but I’m not comfortable with the inverse being false.

Nice.
Might as well put this here as well. I came across this stunningly effective letter against the pro-torture Right (like Marc Thiessen): SERE Trainer offers an hour of his time
