What do these loonies expect to happen, people in Seattle will no longer build houses, move to the woods and live off the land. |

I also wonder do these people themselves own homes or live in an apartment building?

Wow. too bad they didn't burn more blocks. it's really unfortunate that only 3 homes got destroyed. they shoulda gutted the whole block, and planted some trees.
ok, now that i got the obligatory liberal response that Jag no doubt was hoping to evoke, i'm curious as to exactly what sort of response he truly believes those here who lean left will give to the initial post in this thread.

The problem is that the groups that legitimately fight for environmental causes like the Sierra Club and SUWA will be unfairly tarnished with guilt by association, even though there is no association.

I can't think of one activist group that isn't a bit wacky, left, right or otherwise.

How can someone commit arson in the name of...anything? I know the homes were unoccupied, but it's still a terrible thing to do.

Those arent ecologists, they're arsonists and various other types of criminals parading as ecologists. I doubt anyone here is going to defend them.

These houses were on the market, sitting empty since early last summer, likely with huge carrying costs, in a declining market.
My guess is it's more than likely an insurance scam, using the current trial of Brianna as cover.

Sure wouldsnt appear to be an isolated situation bili, if indeed thats what it was.
I posted this link in post 252 of the housing bubble thread a month ago:

These weren't just any homes, these were Mansions that are part of the annual RE drool-fest that is called the "Street of Dreams". They charge admission to tour these babies, then try and sell them to you. Every year except this one has been extremely lucrative for the developers, who get all sorts of free press and make a mint on their monstrosities. This year, with the exception of, I believe Chris Wilcox, no one bit.
So they burned 'em down.
Of course that's pure speculation. My guess is that ELF will take the blame, but the crime will go "unsolved".

Waters convicted
Personally, I'm with bili, I think that the bombing of abortion clinics are likely insurance scams caused by the recent downturn in abortion services and blamed on anti-arbortionists. 'Course that's just speculation too.
