#94 richest man in the world commits suicide

Just how bad does it have to be that a billionaire----A BILLIONAIRE---takes his own life???

Fairplay, it actually isn't that uncommon. Numerous very very rich people over the years have committed suicide.

My guess is he wasn't a billionaire anymore and in fact may have been broke.

A few ideas that come to mind...

[paraphrased because I don't have the time to google them...]

"Money has nothing to do with happiness, unhappiness maybe." - John Paul Getty

"But dad, mom committed suicide, when are you going to do the right thing and leave me your money?" - George Soros

[you think I am being crass or innacurate but he did in fact bitterly and continously berate his dad for not carrying out the family philosophy]

And we can't forget the possible Bernie Madoff factor.

Actually, richer people are, on average, somewhat happier. Being poor is really difficult in this world. It often gets in the way of happiness.

Yeah, well open a package with your son's ear and a ransom note and get back to me on that.

Because Getty has done that.

Just quoting the studies. Poor people get kidnapped too. They just end up as slaves instead of being sold back to daddy.

Yeah, that was just a chance to remind people of a remarkable fact related to Getty's quote.

Getty was also asked when he have enuff money and his answer was "not yet".

So a rich person can be as unsatisfied at his lot in life as anyone else. I wonder what it's like to wonder if every last person you deal with is genuine or using you for your power and money, especially your wife and heirs.

"it's being satisfied with what you have" - Rich

But you are still right. Poverty sucks.
