You can post (and change) keepers here--nothing becomes final until the keeper deadline of Monday March 6th, 5pm EST. At that time your last posted keeper list will be final.

7 regular keepers
3 prospect keepers (Hitters: fewer than 300 real MLB at-bats. Pitchers: fewer than 125 real MLB innings pitched)

Again Zen comes in with a nice, maybe the nicest set of keepers, beyond maybe Tree, and again he'll come up short. Tragic.

My hapless, under-performing but proud bunch, led by the first player I drafted when the league started many eons ago, and still going strong:

Vladimir Guerrero (LAA - OF)
Ryan Braun (Mil - 3B,OF)
Carl Crawford (TB - OF)
Prince Fielder (Mil - 1B)
Russell Martin (LAD - C,3B)
Brandon Phillips (Cin - 2B)
Johan Santana (NYM - SP)

Not sure if this is good or bad, but 4 of those guys were keepers from last year, one was drafted (Iwamura) and Huff & Ludwick were FA pickups.

What I find odd, PD, is that you trade your second round pick, just one week ago, for Joe Nathan, and then you don't make him a keeper.

Little help for you there...

From the other thread...

What's odd is that Taylor Teagarden is listed both as PD's prospect keeper this year and as on Taxman's team last year.

Good catch. I don't see anything in my trades list. I'll do some digging around, but maybe this was an illegal pickup that no one caught.

PD how could he make him a keeper. He is your prospect, he was picked up illegally. Just because no one noticed doesn't mean he should be able to take possession of your prospect.

Are you saying if he wanted him as a keeper that would be just fine even though he is your prospect?

I don't understand.

A loose lid on one of the Indian spices tonight, nerve?

My point was only that if Taxman was going to keep Teagarden, we'd have to scramble to find out how he acquired him. If he got him legally in some way and we can prove it then he can keep him as a keeper. But since he isn't keeping him we can sidestep the whole question.

I demand answers! I demand justice be served!

No appropriating Teagardens with misrepresentation!

Otherwise all the Teagardens go into the harbor!

I appoint Zen special prosecutor to the grand interlocutor of political baseball, and give him a short 4 years get to the bottom of this travesty of illicit tea-bagging. 105 5-7 glossies with circles and arrows, if you please.

NC - it's not a lot different than last year. or the year before. i always have a good line up, and feel i have one of the best. in the last four seasons, it's two second places and two third places.

but i feel i always get slightly out managed. :o/

thanks though...

I would have to give the 2009 Karim Garcia award to C1NRB's Ian Stewart. Who knows how many at bats he's going to have this season, and do you even want him to step to the plate away from Coors? :)

The Karim Garcia award is given by myself to the manager who I believe has kept the least talented keeper. Perm Dude had a stranglehold on this award, but last year MITH and now C1NRB's squad have clutched the trophy.

There should be a special award in that trophy case for trading away Jose Reyes as well.

Granted I once threw Beltran and David Ortiz and Soria back into the pool. And so many others. We all make mistakes.
