Guru can take this post down if he feels this is spam, but I hope not as it is a good cause.

AND, for each Gurupie who posts here that they "voted" I will donate $1 to Dave as a way to say thanks (up to $25).

I am involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters and I serve on the Board. One of my primary responsibilities is to help raise money. Nike has a program where local charities can compete for grants. We've applied for a $2500 grant. It takes approximatley $1000 to provide a single match. This grant will help match 2.5 "littles" with new "bigs"

All you have to do is regster an e-mail address and "vote" for BBBS. You can vote as many times as e-mail addreses you have. Vote early Vote often.

VOTE FOR BIG BROTHER BIG SISTERS OF CENTRAL AZ TO RECIEVE A $2500 GRANT FROM NIKE

Don't forget to post your name here so i can count up how many $$$ to send Guru.

I voted. $2 so far.

By the way...

To cast your vote, please click on the link above. You will need to enter your email address and then confirm your vote when Nike sends an email back to you. This should happen within a few seconds. Please note, the email from Nike went directly into my SPAM, please look for it there if it does not come to your inbox.

link to donate

Hello everyone.

As many of you know I volunteer a significant amount of time fund raising for BBBS of Central Arizona. We are having a "Bowl for Kids Sake" program in Scottsdale on 7/24. I am asking you to log onto the website in the provided link and donate any amount you can.

You can read below about the cause and what your money will be used for.

If anyone of you local types would like to join the crazy bowling fun, you can participate. As a participant, you will get free bowling, shoes, a t-shirt, pizza and refreshments, cash bar, and an invitation to an after party in Scottsdale. You will have to commit to fund raise a minimum of $100 total. If you want to bowl, send me an e-mail for instructions.

Until then, log in and pull out that credit card today, please. Besides, many of you owe me "one"

Thanks,
Tim

... about BBBS of Central Arizona...

I am asking for your support in raising money for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a local children's charity which provides quality mentors for children, ages six to eighteen. The agency vision is to inspire, influence, and encourage children to become confident, competent and caring individuals by matching them with volunteers who believe in them.

Quick Facts - Youth enrolled in Big Brothers Big Sisters programs are:
52% less likely to skip school
46% less likely to use illegal drugs
27% less likely to start drinking alcohol
More confident of their academic performance
Able to get along better with their families

By making a donation today, you are helping to fund these incredible results. You are helping to positively influence the future of children right here in our community. Thank you!

Unless, by chance, your org. makes an extra effort to be
inclusive to kids of undocumented workers...

Outreach and migrant farming communities, for instance,
would go a long way towards suspending a boycott in this
instance.
