good for him. why shouldn't he say that? the book is his piece of work, and the film an extension of that.
i don't know who here has seen the film - i went on opening night.
i thought it was brilliant, sad, disturbing, terrifying, painful, absolutely inappropriate for young children (at least mine, if i had any), and filled with honesty and realism about childhood.
and i think that's the point - the film isn't for children, but rather, about childhood.
