Charlie Sheen is brutally honest to the 4,500 people who somehow forked over money to see him "perform" in Detroit, the first stop on a multi-city tour. Attendees were treated to such brilliant comments as "Show of hands here who has tried crack? I don't do crack anymore, but this is a good f---ing night to do some crack"
I'm not sure what it says about our society and culture when Charlie Sheen, who you'd think should be sheepishly keeping as low a profile as possible if he wishes to continue his career, is able to sell out venues despite lacking any live performance skills that would justify attendance.
People have a right to separate themselves from their money to watch a train wreck, but why in the world would an institution of higher learning, in this case Rutgers University, use $32,000 of mandatory student activity fees, which is funded by tuition, to bring reality TV personality Snooki to campus?
I fear the dumbing down of America is in full swing. |
